  1. /me stared at her from some distance away, hiding around the corner of some nearby alley. He'd been on one of his hunts for some hours now, looking desperately for something to sate his stupid, incessant appetite, and the night had proven to be as empty as it was dark. When he'd seen her limping her way across the street he'd followed her with eager thoughts and an equally eager stomach, but as he had gotten closer, his approach had faltered. Something was off. She had a human body, but something was wrong with it. Her skin, flesh and follicles didn't have the same kind of [b]life[/b] that normal humans did, and all of her parts were strung together with stitches and staples and other holdings. She was either dead meat, or so close to it that it made little difference.
  2. He was hungry. He hadn't had a human in ages, and those steaks his vampire lover kept feeding him to stave off the pangs had only gone so far. His body ached for human flesh, but...dead meat-- [b]used[/b] meat-- was only ever half as satisfying as living meat was. Would a dead person, or even a mostly-dead person, do as much for him as he needed?
  3. Her whole presence confused him. He almost wanted to just leave and find someone else, or even go back home and forget he had even taken this pointless trip outside. But this was the first person he had seen all night. If he left now, he might be forsaking the only opportunity he would have.
  4. Suddenly he retreated behind the corner of the alley. Had heard seen him? He hoped not. Even dead people had a tendency to run away when they saw his face, and he couldn't risk that, not now...Besides, he always hated it when people saw him. He'd had fun scaring people before, but that was different. That was on his own terms...
