  1. He earned his living with the sweat of his brow. He honed his technique in tavern brawls. He lived as a man. It all changed when things fell apart. He left the safety of the Blessed Isles to accompany them on the trail as a merchant. That night he earned his life by hiding in the shadows. He claimed his vengeance by snapping their necks as they slept. With their spirits avenged, he was left with his grief, and so he returned.
  2.
  3. He sought refuge in the cave. It was there that he met the old war god. The old god was desperate for prayer. He was desperate to remain undetected. Their desires could not be reconciled.
  4.
  5. The death of the war god gave him greater cause to mourn. He bore his mantle, and with time the people came to forget him. Yet he watched from the shadows. He mourned the death of his lost love and friends with each day. He burned offerings for them in the night. He spent the day sleeping, meditating, and honing his martial prowess.
  6.
  7. Every seven years he left the cave to run amidst the shadows. He sought to evade detection and keep his skills sharp. Should the town need him, he would protect them. He would not fail them as he had failed his friends.
  8.
  9. And so he watched. Time passed slowly. Each day brought new lessons. He found peace in his sorrow. He came to reach his own form of enlightenment. He could be no demon if he lived his life in such peace. He could be not steal the sun's power if it had been given to him that night. Death had come for those he loved, as it came for the sick, the elderly. Who is to say that as an exalt, death would not come to grant him rest. He could not leave the village ungaurded though. This was to be his curse.
  10.
  11. He would wait, he would live, he would mourn, he would know peace. And so he assumed a new identity. "The Warring God Fou-Lu". He left gifts for the town, he gave wisdom to those brave enough to venture into the cave. He impersonated a god, and in time people simply came to accept that the Warring God Fou Lu was real, and that he was merely a vagrant deity hiding in the cave attempting to garner favor for prayer.
  12.
  13. And yet this dream was lost on the day of the proclamation. The Unconquered Sun, returned from a long repose. His anima lit the sky, and he was exposed. He desperately hid, evading the Immaculates and the Wyld Hunt. A prince of the earth? No. He is a Nameless King of a Broken Throne.
  14.
  15. Nameless was at one point just an ordinary man and he desperately wishes he could return to that life. He views that he hid while they died as his greatest failure, and defines himself by this. His sifu, no his lover needed him, and he hid while she was slain. Layla was his everything. When she died, he died. It was only the exaltation of the sun that kept him alive, and his view that this would be his atonement. To this day he spends Layla's birthday, and the day of her death doing nothing but meditating. He tries to live by her ideals, by what she loved, and what she thought was good.
  16. Layla's Song "When the light is running low, and the shadows start to grow, and the places that you know seem like fantasy. There's a light inside your soul, that's still shining in the cold, with the truth, the promise in our hearts.
  17. Don't forget, I'm with you in the dark."
  18.
  19. Nameless King of a Broken Throne appears to be in his mid twenties, in spite of the fact that he's almost 225 years old. His white hair reaches down to his waist, boasting a pair of forest green eyes. He wears a reinforced buff jacket that resembles a monk's gi, although underneath there are swaths of chainmail the torso, while the legs and arms remain unrestricted. There A black Belt of Shadow Walking is wrapped around his waist, the knot tied around his side. His forearms and shins are wrapped in red, while the upper sleeves and thighs are left baggy. The fine, although aged material marks him as someone out of time. He'd be quite attractive, were it not for the deep shadows that mark his body. The shadows seem darkest at the belt, however they hide most of his face through his hair, with only the green of his eyes ever being clearly visible.
  20.
  21. When disguising himself as "The Warring God Fou-Lu" he creates a constant rippling of wind around his hair and garb, while also making himself appear much taller. His hair and the sclera of his eyes both appear blood red. He also appears to have several sets of arms behind him, holding a sword, a spear, a clutch of arrows, an axe, a mace, and a war hammer, and to hover off the ground a few inches.
