[1:23 PM] Jaune Arc: Not like that. Its....So I went to check it out, right? On foot and all, I figured I had a lot of time and I wanted to time how fast it'd be. I made it there, up to the campus. And then suffered another synapstic.
[1:24 PM] Ethan: a what
[1:24 PM] Jaune Arc: I felt incredibly humiliated, because people kept walking away when I asked for help. And a nerve attack, connected to my back problems. Lot of pain.
[1:24 PM] Jaune Arc: Last time I went to the ER because of it.
[1:24 PM] Jaune Arc: I had hope to take this housing, so I eschewed the hospital.
[1:25 PM] Jaune Arc: It would have wiped me out.
[1:25 PM] Ethan: Ah
[1:25 PM] Ethan: Fucking ow
[1:25 PM] Jaune Arc: I walked from NE Salem all the way back to Down Town. Normally, even with a battered leg not a problem.
[1:25 PM] Jaune Arc: I underestimated summer here.
[1:25 PM] Jaune Arc: And I had little water like a derp, because I drank a lot walking to NE Salem.
[1:26 PM] Ethan: battered leg???
[1:26 PM] Ethan: Hrmmmmm
[1:26 PM] Jaune Arc: The nerve thing starts in my lower back, then shoots through my right leg.
[1:26 PM] Jaune Arc: S'why I was on crutches before.
[1:26 PM] Ethan: you got a place to store a bike
[1:26 PM] Ethan: i just fished a bike outta my garage and it's a bit small but still usable, functional and all. just needs air and stuff.
[1:27 PM] Jaune Arc: Anyway, between the pain and heat exhaustion, I couldn't make it for a while and spent a few days senseless, going to air conditioned places to recover.
[1:27 PM] Ethan: I got a question, is it at all possible to go back to your aunts now you're making money and be registered on the lease?
[1:28 PM] Jaune Arc: Ended up quitting today and told my replacement was hired. My boss kept me on because she knew of my circumstances. But between the first attack(which she said had she known, she wouldn't have hired me) and this? Its unfeasible to keep me on. Quitting allows me some modicum of dignity left.
[1:28 PM] Jaune Arc: And nope.
[1:28 PM] Jaune Arc: Hadn't spoken to her in five months.
[1:29 PM] Jaune Arc: Not a single email sent to me.
[1:29 PM] Jaune Arc: Same from my family in general, after that little thing I posted on FB.
[1:29 PM] Jaune Arc: I think they'd rather I didn't exist.
[1:29 PM] Jaune Arc: lol
[1:29 PM] Ethan: :////////////////
[1:29 PM] Ethan: I dunno what to say or what to do
[1:29 PM] Jaune Arc: Its fine Ethan.
[1:30 PM] Ethan: No
[1:30 PM] Ethan: It really isn't
[1:30 PM] Jaune Arc: I'm in a better place then I am now.
[1:30 PM] Jaune Arc: It looks bad, yes.
[1:30 PM] Jaune Arc: But I got ibeprofan, I got something softer to sleep on and a blanket.
[1:30 PM] Jaune Arc: On the whole, I think I'm lucky.
[1:30 PM] Ethan: Funds will run out and then what???
[1:31 PM] Jaune Arc: I've made plans for that. Not touching the funds, I organized my mealtimes to last as cheap as possible, and I know places that give out free food.
[1:31 PM] Jaune Arc: I can make those last for a long time.
[1:32 PM] Ethan: Optimism is a positive thing to have
[1:32 PM] Jaune Arc: Its a band-aid if I'm being honest, but its a little hope at least. And if I succumbed to despair, I'd never get shit done.
[1:33 PM] Jaune Arc: And worse comes to worse, Safeway is laughably easy to steal food from.
[1:33 PM] Ethan: Listen
[1:33 PM] Ethan: You need to understand you impose yourself on me with the knowledge of all these things. I realize you need a listening ear time from time but it literally sucks not being able to do a damn thing more.
[1:37 PM] Jaune Arc: I prize your sensible nature Ethan. That and you are a good friend and willing to listen. I appreciate your empathy, but as it stands? I can't do a thing about it, save to work where I can to shore my problems up. And if I fail as I have? I learn from em, to be better prepared. I walk all the time and if I hadn't suffered the attack then? It would have come for me later, after depositing the money for the rent. Money I need to survive.
[1:38 PM] Jaune Arc: There's always a silver lining somewhere. And obstacles, with a little ingenuity can become levers for me. Anyway, if you'd rather I didn't share it, then I promise I won't.
[1:39 PM] Ethan: I suggest contacting your aunt to confirm your permanent leave from the family before you go onto other venues.
[1:40 PM] Ethan: And yes, I'd appreciate that, honestly.
[1:40 PM] Jaune Arc: Hmm. Alright then.
[1:40 PM] Jaune Arc: My problems will be my own then.
[1:43 PM] Ethan: We're here, as always, but we can't do much.
