- Would you ride the trapeze with him?
- -
- >A trapeze is a short horizontal bar hung by ropes or metal straps from a ceiling support. It is an aerial apparatus commonly found in circus performances. Trapeze acts may be static, spinning (rigged from a single point), swinging or flying, and may be performed solo, double, triple or as a group act.[1]
- The name of the apparatus reflects the trapezoid shape made by the horizontal bar, ropes and ceiling support.[2]

- Old circus is really a fascinating thing. They really were quite fantastical even back in the 1900s. Nu-circus is still cool. I wish they kept stuff like sideshow freaks, but a lot of those people were probably treated really badly, so I guess in a way it’s good that got phased out

- It wouldn't really do well in most western countries these days, although a lot of those people were actually well-paid.
- Abuse was more the exception than the norm.
- For example, Joseph Merrick, the famous Elephant Man, was pretty much in control of his fate and career.

- I wonder what that would feel like, being part of a circus family. They portray circuses in film/books (of those that I have seen) as a motley crew of outcasts/weirdos/genetic accidents. Not to mention all the poor people that followed them from place to place for the benefit of guaranteed work. I really hope they go into deep depth with that part of Blitz & Fizz’s background

- It deeply varies from circus to circus.
- Across continental Europe, but especially in Russia, performance arts of any kind where often held in high esteem, with circuses, ballets and the like being family-run businesses or fixed, state-owned institutions, dedicated to cultivating new talent.
