  1. Q: What is Space World 97?
  2. A: A year before Ocarina of Time's release, a demo of the game was playable at a Nintendo game show convention in Japan called Space World. There is various footage from the convention online.
  3.
  4. Q: What was found on the ROMs? Is there any code?
  5. A: The ROM that was released is a debug version of F-ZeroX. However, since that game is only 16MB and the cartridges can hold 32MB, there is some left over data in the second half of the ROM. By chance, this happens to be data for the Space World 97 version of OoT.
  6. The data found on the cartridge only contains scenes, icons, textures, and text. There is NO CODE from SW97 contained in the ROM.
  7.
  8. Q: What are you doing here?
  9. A: Myself and a few other friends are making a mod of the original game that uses various assets found in the newly released ROM. Since there is no code on the SW97 ROM, we have to write it ourselves.
  10.
  11. Q: What is the goal of the mod?
  12. A: We are just going with the flow and adding all of the beta stuff into the game, while staying as truthful to the (limited) footage of the beta that we have. The plan is to make it a full playable game, but we haven't planned out every detail yet.
