[15:59] Bringing them into the secret cave Aki stared at the each of them for a few moments now analyzing them as this might have been the last time she'd probably see them alive. However she started with Alyssa.

"My dear Alyssa...you're very strong already and its already been some time since you have joined the Dojo as a student. You've proved you're worth easily during the tournament taking top three so its time now."

"Himari my good cousin you are very talented with the ways of you're gravity magic, easily I can tell you have resolve and the will to learn new things and I'm sure you can go on with this."

Her eyes shifting from the both of them after acknowledging them. She turned her back toward the waters now looking now where the first phase had began.

"Though now if you want to truly master the way of the Kageken you need to master control of yourself through body and mind...and to help you with that... this is going to be the first phase of training out of the three you are going to be doing. Which will be underwater meditation..."

Turning back to them now facing with stern solid gaze to the each of them seeing if they were ready or had any questions.

"So...the first step is... strip...yes...strip..."

Aki said as she did so herself removing only the top half of her kimono letting the rest dangle to her knees while the knot kept the kimono up holding around her waist. She revealed nothing but her white fancy bra and toned core of a body. Eyes looked at them both wanting for them to do the same so she could proceed to the next part.

[16:05] Her eyes almost seemed to glow with their pale colors in the dim light of the cave, scanning across the water. The cave where they had held the funeral for Aki's mother.

Was this where Kirai had taught his students..? She had lost hope of learning his technique with his death, instead resigning herself to safeguarding those who did bear it until Aki had told her otherwise.

Her partner looking forward as she turned to face the water..

Underwater meditating..? That sounds... like a good way to drown if nothing else. The first step mentioned brining her to another memory for a moment as she unclasped her cloak and removed her armor.

Doing much the same as Aki, she stripped to her undergarments and stood there. She had been training her martial arts since before she was ten..., years and years of ruthless training making a body as defined as a sculpture and solid as stone.

"How exactly will we accomplish this..?"

Probably a solid question, she couldn't breathe beneath the water after all.

Though she mentioned there were three steps, if this was the first she could only imagine what the others may be. So she waits for further instructions.

[16:16] Himari fully expect to learn this technique from her Uncle. The many days and years of waiting and training with the others and herself. But right when she was going to finally be taught their clan's special fighting style.

They lose the one important thing.

Up until now, she thought she'd never been able to continue their lessons. One because her Uncle wasn't present and two, they seemed to cause more nightmarish visions in her head. However, with a few people by herself she's finally gotten through with it.

"Those compliments won't work on me, hmph," she mutters, crossing her arms and turning around with her eyes clothes. Despite her words, it was the complete opposite and felt a bit of warmth within. Gaining all these compliments just didn't feel right but at the same time, they did.

She listened and listened. Her ears were focused on Aki's words. This was going to be an important part in her training.This would spike her power so that she could also be known to master the style and begin actually being useful around the clan. Amber irises dulled in the dark would reopen and rest on Aki. "Underwater breathing? Is that why Uncle always suffocated us, to prepare us for this? Hng…"

Underwater breathing. It sounded what Himari expected. Challenging. Breathing wasn't something you could just do underwater. Quickly, the water would fill your lungs and it'd seek into your body, causing you to drown. That isn't what Himari wanted but if that was part of the phases. So be it.

"Strip.. Okay." She didn't mind doing that in front of two girls. Especially ones she's known for a while. Her hands would slip from out of her kimono and show her undergarments underneath. It'd be tossed aside as she was ready to get this show on the road.

[16:22] She looked at the each of them seeing they finally did what they were told however she was very keen on trying her hardest on not staring a certain someone but she had to continue and answer the question.

"This cave here is special...it might not look like it but this Kurokaiyo cave will draw out your negative aspects and forces you to confront them in a psychic battle while you will be under going through the mediation...afraid of drowning?"

She narrowed her eyes at her. Aki did think the same thing she was possibly thinking as well. She did go through the process herself.

"These few moments might seem like hours maybe minutes...but it shouldn't be too long." Saying as she nodded to Himari. That was definitely the correct answer for the times they have been suffocated for punishment.

"Alright now everyone come forward and stand near the edge of the waters...then take multiple deep breaths and exhale very short ones than inhale to keep lots of oxygen within you're veins, blood."

Aki started to show them a presentation of how it would look. Expanding her lungs now through those several deep breaths feeling her rib cages grow widely more than the usual since she was already using the Kageken breathing.

It'd make her feel slightly being light headed like wise. Now she'd look to them hoping they would follow what was being told.

[16:31] She was unsure of what that meant, what negative aspects would arise..? Though as much as ever she was willing to do what she must to take steps closer to being perfect, to becoming the best she could be.

"There are only a few things I fear... drowning is not one."

The biggest being losing the one before her.

Probably with the same amount of effort she kept her gaze mostly trained on the water, only looking once the breathing technique was displayed.

"I see.."

She stepped to the edge of the water, the gentle lapping sound louder than before.

She does as Aki had done, taking a few deep breaths and exhaling short ones. She felt as if she had been talking for too long without a breath, a bit dizzy..

She waits for what would come next.

[16:31] Himari could've already guessed that the cave was special. It was hidden behind the dojo after all where most couldn't have seen unless they were shown by one of the members of the house. A particular spot that Himari might use to her own accord.

Drowning was the least of Himari's worries. She's gone througha lot to care if she lost her life to training and honestly that would a nice way to go out. This was training however, and she'd do her best. Her strengths required all of this.

Her body would move, slowly edging near the water. As the distance grew, there was complete and utter darkness. A toe touched the water before moving back to land on the warm sand of the cave.

A deep breath.

[16:37] As the lined themselves up on the edge now she would then proceed but not for her own good but there's. A swift punch drove straight into there abdomens hard enough to force out air from each of there lungs now which would set them down to there knees. This all happening within an Instant with the aid of her clone hitting Himari while Aki personally struck Alyssa.

That punch would awaken was used merely to awaken there mana circulation that she hope they would actually use. Sure enough anyone was smart enough but it was all up to them in the end.

"Now...just like Kirai said to me I'll say to you...Don't lose you're self and remember...the code." She said before kicking them into the depths of the water.

That is when there meditation finally started.

Right now what they would be going through was there true fears perhaps even battles against themselves. They would fail or either proceed to be successful. Aki herself went through this hell. Almost failing which was near death and somehow she pulled through in the end.

[16:49] A sucker punch to her abdomen, not even enough time to harden the muscles to mitigate the blow. All of her breath erupting in a gasp as she could feel her circuitry tingle afterwards.

She would try to speak a reply after catching her breath.. but she had been cast into the water. Her body wanting to react she instead brings it under focus, maintaining the small amount of air she had been able to intake before going under.

Finally reaching a state of somewhat-peace given her situation she could suddenly feel a hand on her shoulder. She turned and she was no longer in the water at all, but in the backyard of her estate.

The large man, Alyn, her former trainer before her.

'Weak. That's all you are you noble brat.'

His fist lashed out, her nine year old self still too slow to dodge such strikes.

Sending stars across her vision she was cast to the ground, her cheek already swelling as it had so many times before. Her face was wet with tears from the pain, her vision blurring from them.

'Get up, learn to dodge or feel what happens when you don't.'

She tried to rise but her arms seemed to fail her, the blow having dazed her too greatly. She looks where she could, to find help... surely someone would help her.. save her from this.

Her eyes finally spy her father, watching from the balcony with disappointment on his face.

There was a rough kick to her side that sent her rolling across the ground, a sharp crack heard.. the sound of one of her ribs breaking.

Who she was now was nothing compared to the scared little girl she had been in that moment, and she realized she was about to witness that moment again.. the moment it all had changed.

She sat there in the water, her emotions turbulent as she prepared to see it all again.. as she had in dreams so many times before.

[16:57] Himari waited as she took her breaths calmly and smoothly. Her eyes were closed to visualize a successful session. However, that was all ruined the moment she felt a fist direct itself right into her gut, removing all that air from her lungs and causing her to grasp around her abdomen. "Wha-.."

A loud thud as she dropped to her knees, feeling intense pain around her stomach. Involuntary tears dripped out the corners of her eyes. She's felt more pain than this before so why did this especially her hurt so much?

She didn't both to say any words but her eyes would grow closer to the water as she was pushed into it, forced to fend for her life under the water. The splash clouded her ears and her eyes would close. Himari would begin to sink towards the bottom of the underground lake and it didn't seem like her descent was ending any time soon.

Heartbeat!

Eyelids would flash open quickly and Himari would be looking around the water in the darkness that overcrowded her completely. The sense of direction lost except the one that was directly up. However, that is not what she was aimed towards. A silhouette of her brother began to appear from just water. It spoke and said the idiotic things that she heard when she was right there with him. Himari's first action would've been to get angry and let it overcome her, but she knew this was a mind game.

"You're no longer a threat to me, Aiyamari."

Her stern look accompanied by a puff her cheeks as she held in as much air as she could. The water makeshift Aiyamari would fade and disperse from the surrounding mana that Himari possessed. It didn't phase her whatsoever. She was stronger than to let a failure of a Kurokaiyo play with her head. This was a means of surviving and growing all together.

Now that, that was over, Himari would begin to float underwater. Her legs crossed and her hands stationed in the middle conjoined and circulating mana throughout her body. She's overcome the first obstacle but it wasn't going to be that easy unless she continued to do well. There were still many minutes to go.

[17:04] Aki felt sorry for hitting them like that but it was what everyone had to go through if they wanted to learn it this way. Looking down watching as the waves rocked back and forth she nothing but silence. In all they were going to have to face inner demons in this part of the test and when they came out...if they came out they would be changed by it either emotionally or physically.

For Aki it changed her in a emotionally level as she was less shy. Toughening up she moved forward and she expected the same for them to hopefully overcome these waves of negative aspects soon to hit them in waves of sessions till they would awaken.

She could only hope that they weren't consumed by there own meditative mindscapes like herself once. Those hungry spirits were always thriving for someone to feed off of in the cave with those who were weak willed.

Either way everyone had there own little spirit guardian that aid in this process. It would appear within there minds while going through mediation.

The spirit would seek to protect them for the next wave.

It was a matter of who was stronger. There own guardian spirit they thought of in there heads or the vile yokai like sprits seeking to rip them apart to mess up there flow of mana circulation and breathing causing death or failure.

[17:30] Once more swept away, back to that moment. Alyn standing over her, glaring down as he always did. He had basically been hired to beat her, beat her until she learned to fight.. or couldn't fight anymore.

It had been this way for months. Any day she had no social obligations this is what happened behind the gates of the D'Arnette estate.

'Disgustin, you don't deserve what you were born into. You aren't even as good as the filth on the street. A piece of shit can be dressed in the best clothes a tailor can make.. but it doesn't change what it is.

It doesn't change what you are.'

Openly crying at this point she struggles to rise. It was so hard to draw breath, a hot poking iron in her side from the broken bone.

Beneath the water she reflected this struggle, the area around her turning murkier with shadows as it came.

Alyn waited. Waited for her to rise so he could strike her down again.. so he could beat her. He enjoyed it, she could feel it radiating from him.. Years of pent up aggression against the nobility he was free to take out on this young noble without consequence.

It was why her father had hired him after all.

She could hear his chuckle in her ears, the sound bitter and gruff as he watched her struggle.

'Now... here we go again..'

His fist curled and he swung.. a moment where things became different.

Her mana filled her body for the first time as her own fist rose to catch his, the sound of crackling bone as she began to squeeze his knuckles with her smaller hand. She would never begin to forget the look of shock on his face, then the horror.

Her other hand struck, digging deeply into his flesh.. blood running over her hand as she had punctured through his stomach entirely. His scream was loud but then... it cut off.

In reality he died a moment later... a non-Magi killed by the awakening of her magic.. Though in this state..? Those evils that plagued her would make things into her worst nightmare.

Wet eyes of silver glance up to the Alyn.. who now bore the face of her father.

'He's right girl. You're a disgrace.'

As she could only stare on in horror his arm grabbed her own with a grip of steel, slowly pulling it out as more blood splattered to the ground. She raised her arm to defend herself but it was nothing compared to the blow that sent her spiraling into the iron fence that separated their garden.

Her body felt even more broken, and bubbles began to emerge on the surface of the water in reality as in those few moments her focus was breaking.

'I don't know why I left you anything, you're worthless. Sullying yourself with worse than common filth.. A foreigner who's father is a criminal..?

I will cull you from the bloodline myself.'

He began to step closer, a bright light flashing between them as the outline of a woman had formed. There was no true definition to her.. she had never even seen her since her birth but she knew who it was.

It was her mother.

Her mother struck with flashes of white light, the mental battle in her mindscape just as combative as she was in the real world. Though it wouldn't last long.

'You're worthless too. Couldn't even bear a child right.'

One strike and her mother was gone.. the light fading. In her own mind she had just caused the death of her mother a second time.. Her broken body raged against her, and she began to scream. The water above her erupted as shadows began to pour out into the cavern.

In the mindscape she lunged forward, broken bones hindering her as she moved.

"You won't talk about her... YOU WON'T EVER TALK ABOUT HER!"

Those shadows poured forth in this alternate memory, hundreds of those chains pouring forwards to tear at her not-father. Limb by limb he was brutally torn apart as blood sprayed the grass, the yokai taking every attempt to traumatize and weaken her further.

She fell back to the ground sobbing, but she had made it through.. but even as her tears melded with the water she knew this wasn't the end.

[17:46] Himari's breathing began to soothe under the pressure of the water. She felt like she was finally getting the hang of this within a short time span. Maybe all that training by herself played out nicely. That is what she thought and realized that, that wasn't the case in this next situation. Her body began to feel a lot more pressure than what she was feeling prior. It was a sudden change and Himari would've almost broken her meditation.

This spirit that Aki thought would've appeared for Himari didn't. The darkness grew and soon it'd cloud Himari. This change felt like too much to handle but Himari kept through. If she could sweat, she'd be doing lots of it at this moment. "Stay... strong.."

Why was it feeling this way?

A peek of her eye and there would've been something in front of her. Something that scared her and broke her meditiation. Her body moved away but was completely stunned when she locked eyes with the being. She didn't know what to do. It spoke words into her head. Words that she didn't want to hear. Her hands grasped at her temple as she waved it dramatically. "It hurts.."

Everything....

Is...

Your...

Fault...

It blamed her.

It blamed her for not being there when she was supposed to. The day that Aiyamari was beaten down by her Uncle for what he did to him. When she was present to at least stop or say something about it. She wasn't there to protect her brother and now he was too deep in the darkness to be pulled back out. Her expression looked distressed it needed help. She needed help.

Her hand stretched out weakened by its presence. This had to be a Yokai that fed on the nightmares of others. However, it was wanting to feed on something else.

Pain and Suffering.

It grasped at her arm pulled her in and sent a powerful punch into her gut. Stronger than the one Aki had dealt earlier. She yelped at the pain and tried to get away but it was too much to handle. She'd soon go unconscious from the pain; her mind being changed. "Help...

Himari's eyes would open quickly the moment they closed. It felt like she was asleep for the longest time. A blurred vision while she looked in front of her. A spirit that began protecting her from the Yokai that had just fed on her mind. She felt different eternally when she had awoken. Something in her changed.

It was her depression, her pain, her distress.

They all seemed to dissipate and she felt renewed. She wondered if it was her taking in the force of the Yokai or the Sprit's power protecting her. Whatever it was, she'd grasp it in a hypothetical embrace and take it as power. She suffered and it hurt but she aimed to power through.

It was only for a split second. The two beings that were in front of her would dissipate into the darkness once more and she'd be left alone. The one thing that didn't disappear from her. The fear of being alone.

She was frightened.

[17:52] The waters were still for now which was actually a very good thing. Meaning they potentially over came the feats that struck their way in whatever vile way it seeked to attack. However this wasn't the end they had to prepared for the next wave of darkness that rose to corrupt there mind either permanently or temporally.

Watching for some time now the waters began to rock now seeing a few bubbles rise up to the surface. It looked like bad sign...things were getting shaky for the two girls now. Aki closed her eyes folding her arms within the sleeves of her black fancy kimono waiting patiently.

Would Alyssa be driven mad by her own objectives? or would Himari be caved and shallowed up in this wave from there negative aspects.

It was up to them.

It was soon coming to an end now.

Weather those spirits helped in a good way or bad way it was not by there side once till the trial was over with.

"Its about time..." Opening hereyes not feeling the inner conflicts that was going on.

Pure despair, worthlessness, hate, anger. All of the sorts of things that would make anyone crumble.

[18:08] She could hear feet crunch the grass, blood that was soaking the ground staining her red. Her boy was nothing but pain, broken, fractured, and beaten.

She looks up to see none other than herself, as she was outside of this hell. Though missing were the eyes of silver, instead..? They were as black as the abyss.

There it was.. the embodiment of all that was corrupt and impure about her. The part of her that knew the truth, that she had killed someone on accident as a child.. even if it really wasn't an accident.

'You thought you could hide me away inside.. beneath all of the smiles.. beneath all of your training but, I'm still here.

And I thrive. On all of your growing hatreds.. the enemies you make. Every person you wish to see bleeding at your feet... all of that feeds me.

Feeds us.. yet.. you use me-'

The not-her reaches to the sides, the remnants of those shadowy chains stripped from her to go to her 'other self'.

Was that true..? Was that where she had drawn that power from..?

'Use me.. but refuse to let me in.. I can help you. Help you kill them... Atrosus.. all of them. You just have to believe in us.'

She rose again, for what could be the final time. Her strength was all but gone it felt, and the last of her shadows stolen.

But she couldn't give up like this, give in like this. She had to be better, better than even herself.

"You aren't me.. you will never be me.... and those are MINE."

For moments there was a struggle of wills as she fought her darker self, not with her body as she had before... it was too broken.. but with her mind.

Pressing against her finally she seemed to win out, those chains taken and turned against the not-her. Binding her, dragging her deeply intothe back of her mind once more..

Her eyes snap open and she kicks from the bottom of the pond to land on the bank a few moments later, breathing heavily and still crying.. but alive.. and changed.

Himari was filled with it all. The darkness was filled with it all. Why did Himari have to go through this suffering for how she was. The split differences that her brother had against her and the feeling of being hated by her family. She wasn't part of the main family anyways. Just an extent too it. That is what she was born into and she felt like she was just there for protective fodder.

It seemed the next trail was the pain that she caused herself and what she thought about her surroundings. Her strengths lied in her emotions. Her anger is why she unlocked the gravitational forces that she upheld. However, there were flaws in her emotions that everyone could quite see. She couldn't make decisions easily when they played out in them, hence the fight she had with Aiyamari.

Even so, she thought it was right in her mind. They weren't siblings anymore more so strangers that hated each others guts. To him, no one showed him any kind of love or helped him. Himari expressed her love in many other ways but Aiyamari just couldn't see it with his blinded eyes.

You're selfish

"No.. you are.

Selfish for love when you obviously acquired it. You wanted too much of it.

She spoke in her mind like she was replying to those words but did not get an answer from them. But she meant them. She knew now that acquiring her brother back was not something that she could do. He was suffering and she couldn't end that suffering now that he was too deep in it. The only way to end it now was to

"Kill him."

These words followed by one of the codes. She would one day hope to end his suffering by ending his life with a swift motion. Even if it meant that she might die in the process. The words that she spoke she also meant those.

Darkness swirled around and the water was still to a point it was too quiet. Himari liked this, meditation under the water and keeping herself calm. She's already going through pain while doing this so it felt like a nice change of pace. However, that soon ended.

A grip at Himari's throat and she struggled to continue her breathing. Who could it be?

The man who killed her Uncle.

A grit of her teeth as she stared that disgusting filth in the eyes. The burning hatred that she felt as he held on the arm the Radiant. A crushing strength arising from her body. "You will die. You'll join him. And you will suffer." With ease, her power burst around her body dissipating the water silhouette like it was nothing. Bubbles would've formed at the surface even after Alyssa had arisen. Steam followed and Himari would open her eyes. She felt a sudden relief while she looked up and swam up towards the surface so she could finally end this damned horror of a phase.

A great gasp for air as her head broke the water. Her head bobbing as she looked around. She didn't realize that her body drifted so far from the edge. The moment she notices this, she'd head over. "Am I dead yet?"

[18:45] The crashing waves that rocked side to side of there struggles and inky depths of bubbles rising up to the top it was clear they were reaching there limits now.

However it seemed that ill intent she was feeling from underneath the sea was disappearing as soon Aki heard nothing but silence now. The waves grew short with calmness ever so gracefully feeling that intent lift from the waters and whoosh away for now...till the next session they'd go through.

Aki looked at the each of them now emerging from the depths of the dark blue sea. Seeing as Alyssa was the first to rise up Aki could only wonder how she has changed in the sorts and hopefully not in a bad way from the negative vibes she was getting down the waters.

Though she was wrong. Watching her breath heavily and see those tears roll down in streams from her face Aki frowned. She knew how she felt going through those stages of pain perhaps it was worse for her.

Then looking to Himari her cousinshe seemed the most affected from her journey going through the worst one could possibly go through. Aki shook her head from side to side.

"You're all alive thankfully..." She started

"We all had to go through that sadly..but now get dressed and once you are finished I'll tell you the second phase you can do by yourself with a little help of something."

She pulled out a little brown bag which was from Kirai's hidden stash.

She didn't say anything yet simply waiting for them to do what they were told. It was better to give them time to recover from there horrid sights for a few momnets before assigning them the next task.

[18:49] Slowly calming herself, feeling the sand beneath her palms.. using it to ground herself she struggles to her feet, one hand wiping her face.. dripping wet she slowly dresses herself.

"Yes... I lived.."

Her eyes glancing to the bag a bit curious as she finishes clasping her cloak, her wet hair carefully pulled from beneath.

She seemed perturbed by what she had seen in her mind, and it showed on the outside. The darkness of the cave more oppressing anywhere the noble moved near.

Reaching for what she knew now to be a kindred spirit... or at least one within her.

[18:58] Heavy breathing exited from Himari's lips. It was almost like she was sleeping. She'd open her eyes and slowly pick herself out of the water and stood there drenched like a wet dog. She took her hands and slid them across the strands of her green hair to remove some of the water.

"Never again."

She went over to where she put her kimono but she really didn't want to put it on with her wet underwear. "Aki."

She turned around, looking her cousin straight in the eyes with eyes that lacked light. "Dry my clothes with your fire, please."

No one else could use fire magic so why not?

[19:13] Finally letting her arms loose off to her sides now with the bag in her hand waiting calmly. They had finally gotten dressed after giving them the time needed to catch there breaths and now she would speak while pulling out a mushroom to the each of them and handing it over now. It was a bright colored muscled with a black shaft and crimson red underbelly, the cap was blue streaked with sliver gills.
