- Several customers of Revolut, the digital bank, have complained they have been locked out of their accounts for weeks.
- Users have said that they cannot access their accounts, with others saying they can log in but not transfer money. Many of those affected said they are struggling to get a response from Revolut over the issue.
- One reader told Telegraph Money that he had been locked out of his account since December 16. He pays for the firm's premium service yet has had no explanation why he cannot access his funds.

- Alexander Geilhaupt, 48, said he had been unable to access the £3,000 in his account since the start of January, and was unable to buy presents for his son’s birthday.
- Mr Geilhaupt had tried to pay a rental deposit of £4,000, which Revolut blocked. When he showed proof that the payment was legitimate, Revolut authorised the payment, then froze the account.

- “My son’s birthday was earlier this month. I couldn’t access my money on the day and it ended up being a very sad birthday,” he added.
- A spokesman for Revolut said: “We are not experiencing any technical issues relating to locked accounts. At any given time, a very small number of our 10 million customers around the world may be experiencing a suspension of their account.
- "This could be due to either a breach of our terms and conditions or as part of our security checks which continuously monitor to keep our customers safe.
- "This measure is a regulatory requirement. We know the impact this can have on our customers and will always work to reopen accounts as quickly as possible, where appropriate."
- Mr Geilhaupt said that when he complained to the bank on Twitter and Facebook, they blocked him. Revolut had not responded to this by the time of publication.
- Revolut has 10 million customers, and its investors have previously said it could become bigger than established banks such as Barclays.
- Last year, the bank launched its premium service, which includes a metal bank card. Revolut charges £120 a year for its steel card which includes a concierge service and cashback.
