- from /hhg/ Helluva Hotel general #720
- --------------------------------------
- Completely hypothetical question.
- Would it be better to have Hazbin Hotel release and be disappointing compared to our writing.
- Or
- Have it get cancelled with no word of what the plot was leaving us to continue our endless speculation and fan fiction.
- Ashes in our mouths, or ashes in our hands?
- -
- I'm more used to cancellation, so I'm going with that.
- Roadside Picnic and Prey 2 come to mind.
- -
- The first one, duh.
- -
- It'll always be disappointing compared to what we came up, because it wouldn't be our ideas.
- Plus, it's a musical show.
- If it can't be sung about, it probably won't make it there.
- -------
- The first one obviously. Our speculation is shit.
- -
- Old /hhg/ came up with some pretty kickass stuff, but I would say within the last 8 months the quality of discussion has sunk like a rock. Most of it now is gy ass """anon""" stories.
- -
- >Anon doesn't like the autistic original content stories /hhg/ makes
- That's like going onto /mlp/ and whining about there being small horses on the board
- ----
- >Old /hhg/ came up with some pretty kickass stuff
- Tell me some of em'. I'm bored.

- The coolest idea (in my opinion) was the concept of hell's "outlands," which consisted of hells forests, deserts and tundras that existed outside of Pentagram City. In many places, the general laws of reality would begin to break down, with concepts as fundamental as gravity could not be counted on to properly work.
- Fitting with the places bizarre, reality bending geometry, the place would be populated by horrifying eldritch monstrosities that looked like they were cooked up by H.R. Giger or Zdzisław Beksiński. I'll take a look in the threads pastebin and see if I can pull it up for you, if you're interested.

- Nah I'm alright. I think I've seen enough, sir. I'll go back to writing shitty Hazbin and Helluva fanfics.
- -
- Alright.
- I case anyone else's interested, here's the link to the first part:

- Pastebro was the one who first brought up the idea.
- ---------------
- It is because in these times we were genuinely excited and more optimistic.
- Now everyone here is a defeatist and only think in the worst case scenario.

- I still treasure my "Alastor's Patron Demon" theory if anyone even remembers that.
- -
- I don't. Care to share?
- -
- The idea is to answer the question "why is Alastor so unusually powerful for a mortal soul?". My answer: he's getting a stat boost from some other, more powerful demon (Ars Goetia, other major native demon, fallen angel, etc). Those symbols you see floating around him when he does spooky shit are mostly from voodoo. In voodoo and related religions like palo born of syncretism between the religions of the enslaved and the abrahamic faiths of the enslavers, magic is not inherently good or evil, it depends on the intent of the magician. You can dial up figures analogous to the christian devil and his lieutenants just as readily as you call upon saints and angels. My theory is that Alastor summoned up someone of Stolas's caliber or worse and cut a deal with them to gain great power upon arriving in Hell, and possibly in life too. His murders weren't random acts of violence by a lunatic, they were either offerings to whatever he summoned, or maybe what he summoned had a hit list it wanted him to take care of before they gave up the goods. Now he's crazy powerful for a sinner, but at the cost of being under the thumb of some native demon who is even more powerful and completely owns his ass.

- Maybe those tentacles came from Mr. Crawling Chaos himself, Nyarlathotep. My reasoning for this is:
- >1. Nyarlathotep is cool
- >2. He really likes to indirectly meddle in human affairs, kind of like putting a few bulldog ants into a carpenter ant hill and seeing what happens
- >Vivziepop has a good chance of getting Stephan Weyte, the voice actor for Caleb in Blood & Blood II as well as Nyarlathotep himself in Dusk
- -
- tldr
- he just did some killings haha
- -
- I mean I've tossed around that theory too but that's boring.
