The location of Upper Amihan, historically one of the original homes of the Mountain ponies, was resettled into a mining town meant to simply house those who harvested the ores for the town. To stockpile them and otherwise allow people to not have to make the long trek back and forth as often it had been. The town eventually found itself growing as miners took their families there, walls were built, roads formed, and families grew and separated to expand. This was generations ago, time passed and eventually harsh times began to take their toll. As the town grew its resources began to become stretched thinner and more required of outside assistance.

Eventually it came in the form of traders and travelers from other lands. They appeared in the lower cliffs, began to set up camps and traded supplies and coin for the ores mined from those of the Amihan mining town. A small town appeared, housing those not from the mountain- known as Low Landers. Where the weather was a bit more hospitable to those without the hearty nature of the homegrown Mountain Ponies of the peaks. Thus the creation of Lower Amihan and Upper Amihan, two separate settlements united under name and banner. Things progressed with this mutually beneficial relationship between the native Mountain Ponies and the traders and travelers who arrived in Lower Amihan for goods and exploration.

A short time ago,, the skies tore open with a blinding green flash. A giant fissure of green light forming in the sky, winds harsher than ever experienced struck the Upper Amihan town. The Lower town struck by rocks from the cliffs, people fled the Lower Amihan in fear of the burning sky and the dangers that now circled them. For a time the Mountain Ponies of Upper Amihan lived off the remaining supplies and those left behind. Having closed off the docks and fortified themselves over what they perceived may have been the end of days. When life remained after a month they began to clear Lower Amihan, to try and see what could be salvaged of their world. Welcoming once more settlers in, the tear remained- but perhaps the threat they assumed from it was not on such a grand scale.
