Instead, surprisingly, she spun. Pinned to the ground, she managed to spin against it in a sparkle of light. Where her back reasonably should have been, Pyra instead appeared in her place.

Bowser had just a moment to look confused. Then, her skin began bristling with fire. It started exploding off of her in waves. Bowser could very clearly take the heat, but just the force of it was already blowing his hair back and making him squint. His claw was shaking with as much as he was exerting just keeping it in place.

Cloud took advantage and came in swinging, directly overhead looking to bury his oversized sword in Bowser’s skull. It was at the last moment, with a scarcely timed twitch, that he put one of his horns in between the sword and his skull plate.

With a rough buck, he shoved Cloud off, but it was enough of a distraction that when Pyra exploded with heat he was forced back. Pyra flipped back up to her feet. Her sword in hand, it spewed flames from the side non-stop like some terrible engine.
