- --- DOCTOR'S HOUSE ---
- The house feels bigger on the inside but kinda cozy, tidy with plush looking chairs and couches and a metric ton of books. The fireplace isn’t on, but I can hear something bubbling from somewhere, and the air is tinted sweet with... cinnamon?
- I’m suddenly glad I had to deal with glitter hell while I made my costume, it’d get everywhere. Proof that I was here even when they wash out the blood out the pretty looking hardwood. I can already imagine the script for the Forensic Folders episode.
- They end up taking the girl out of sight from where Yvonne sits me in the living room, on one of the - woah, definitely comfy couches. I feel like I could sink into it entirely.
- She makes sure I’m not going to fall off before she stands, petting my shoulder.
- //
- He shoots a look over his shoulder that sends the party quartet evacuating Very Casually and Discreetly into the kitchen.
- //
- I barely catch the conversation happening outside of the room between choked sobs and the shallow breathing of that poor girl.
- --- ROBIN INTERIOR 1/MOST FREQUENT SPACE ---
- His tone is absolutely shameless as his wave spans the entire room, and the veritable flood of people within it.
- //
- All I can do is nod, and then he winks and ducks into an opening to the side. From my angle, I can make out a portion of a fridge, trays and trays of cobweb-decorated cupcakes on the counter, and a man radiating sheer fury as he holds some sort of pelt.
- He catches my eye, and I get more than enough motivation to look away and to the rest of the party.
- I guess it makes sense that a cafe owner would know a lot of people, but this is definitely... something. Crowded. Cluttered. Near suffocating.
- And hot. Definitely hot, from what I can make out in the dim of the entry hall and the living room. A highly disproportionate amount of pretty people mingling and laughing and mostly chatting close, like they’ve been long acquainted.
- //
- I look down at the bowl a little longer, then back towards the kitchen. I turn towards the door. Costumed guests are coming in one after another, only a few beats apart. They’re all greeting each other with an enthusiasm I can’t match on even my good days.
- --- ROBIN INTERIOR 2 --- (Maybe it should mix with Robin Interior 1 but it's big enough that we can zoom in on different spots? would that even work??)
- Before the protest can get out, he’s taken my hand in his and started dragging me through the crowd. Jeez, when did all these people get here? I’m like almost confident that this is a fire hazard. If it isn’t the fact everyone’s so packed in that makes me nervous, it’s discount Íñigo.
- //
- Sebastián pulls me through the crowd. I apologize in passing to those that I bump into, weaving through the crowd with about an ounce of the grace that he does. It’s suffocating and feels miserably long before I’m finally pulled into a thankfully more open room.
- --- ROBIN INTERIOR 3/ KITCHEN ---
- Fine. The kitchen, maybe? It’s probably quiet. I can get another drink and reboot. Party!Diana, take two. I head into the kitchen. It’s… almost empty. Just me and another boy. He’s sitting on his haunches in front of the oven, squinting through the glass, and he looks up when I enter.
- ///
- I quickly step forward to hold my hand out, but the tile is polished smooth. Too smooth. I land on it wrong somehow and hear a sharp crack, barely realizing that it was one of my cheapass costume heels before I’m collapsing with all the arresting grace of a drunk giraffe.
- ///
- He starts digging through kitchen drawers. He pauses nearby, presumably having come upon the elusive kitchen junk drawer that everyone has and no one wants. I lean in to look over his shoulder as he rummages.
- --- ROBIN INTERIOR 4 ---
- (another merger if it's a Big Canvas?)
- For a second I’m expecting her to take me into the bedroom, where it’s dark and private and maybe a little more intimate than I’m comfortable with. Instead she leads me to a corner in the main room, to a small loveseat overlooking the backyard. Robin’s twisted some orange fairy lights in the boughs of a tree, casting an eerie glow to the people laughing outside.
