Momma's cold

Covet: Kelsey was sitting at a one of the booths with Connor. Kelsey was eating a bowl of Chicken noodle soup and Connor was chowing down on some chicken strips and fries. Kelsey was looking at her phone going over emails for work.
Alexithymiaa: -Brad had taken most of the weekend off to spend some time with Kelsey and Connor after working non-stop for the last couple of weeks. With aa pen in his hand, he drew a tic tac toe board on one of the napkins, sliding it over to Connor with the pen. "Wanna play?"-
Covet: "What's this?" Connor asked as he looked over at what Brad was sliding over to him. // Kelsey put her phone down then glanced over at Brad. "So... I have to take a trip this week on Wednesday."
Alexithymiaa: "It's tic tac toe. You've never seen it before? You need to get three in a row to win. So I'll be X's, and you can be O's." He picked up the pen to draw an X in one corner of the board, pushing it toward Connor. "Now it's your turn." Glancing up at Kelsey, he raised hs brows. "For whaat?"-
Covet: "We play it with bean bags at school, but we have frogs and rabbits not x's and o's" Connor said then took the pen so that he could draw a wonky ass looking O. // Kelsey looked at Brad. "Work stuff. A performance and interview, same old same old. They want to talk about tour stuff and hear a couple of the new songs. I just... you know.. you kind of haven't left me alone since... so I didn't know if this was something that was going to be okay with you."
Alexithymiaa: -He took the pen from him, considering his choice and printing an X opposite his other one on the board. "Where is this performance and interview?"-
Covet: Connor put a circle right in the middle of his x's with a grin. "Blocked with a frog... or a rabbit... what is an O?" He asked. // Kelsey took another bite of her food, "San Diego. I'll be back late that night."
Alexithymiaa: "Probably a rabbit." He said with a smile, adding another X to another corner. "That's kind of far..." He trailed off, lifting his eyes to stare at her. "It's not like you're going to be running around Portland doing all that stuff."-

Covet: "Okay fine, mine is a frog then." He said putting another circle between his to block him. // "I know but it's a day trip and I was thinking I could get an assistant.. someone you approve of. To go with.. if it made you feel more comfortable." Kelsey said.
Alexithymiaa: "Absolutely not." He said without hesitation and with aa firm voice, shaking his head. "There isnt anyone I would trust to go with you that would keep a good enough eye on you. I'll go with you." He looked down at their board, furrowign his brows. "How are you so good at this?" He asked, adding another X.
Covet: "Because The frogs are supposed to block the rabbit, you don't have to be good, you just have to know the rules" Connor said, because duh.// "Not even if it was my mom?" Kelsey said looking over at him, leaning back crossing her arms. " I want to take her out for an early dinner, It's only a two hour flight there, and 2 hours back. We'd be back by nine at the latest."
Alexithymiaa: "Your mom doesnt know what's going on and doesn't know what to look out for. She wouldn't even know she was looking after you." He said through narrowed eyes, blindly taking his turn because now he was just fully focused on Kelsey.-
Covet: Connor put another circle in giving himself three in a row. "I win!" He said putting his hands up in the air. "No, but she'd be a distraction for me. beacuse I'd be focusing on my mom having a good time. Please Bradley... I need some mom time. I promise I'm not going to do anything. The only thing I have going on is the performance, interview, then dinner with Mom." She said with a softer look.
Covet: air. //
Alexithymiaa: "Good job, buddy." Brad said, setting the pen down. "I don't really care. Your promises don't hold a lot of weight with me right now and I don't really think you can be trusted yet."-
Covet: "Do you wanna play again Dad?" He asked Brad. // "But... Brad..you're kind of being irrational about this. I don't even know anyone in San Deigo that I could even get that from. And It's not like I'm just going to ask about it with my mom there. You can check everything I bring with me, and everything I bring back. I just... I really need this." She said looking down with an ashamed look on her face.
Alexithymiaa: "If it's that important to you, then you can bring both of us along with you. You can go out to dinner with your mom just the two of you, but everything else, I'm going to be there for." Nodding his head to Connor, he gestured toward the table across from theirs. "Go grab those napkins and we can play again."-
Covet: Connot slid out of the booth then went to get the napkins bringing them back. "Here Dad. " // "Why? What am I possibly going to be doing at the performance? Performing... and the interview, oh yeah, talking to the interveiwer." She said with a frown and furrowed brow. "Brad... this has to do with the whole issue. I just want some time to me and mom for some advice. Without being... obvious about what's going on."
Alexithymiaa: "And you can have that time alone with her at dinner to get advice, but I don't want you getting on a plane and traveling to another state without me." Sliding the napkins in front of him, he made another tic tac toe board, letting Connor go first since he won.-
Covet: "I'm going to go... right there." Connor said putting a circle down in one of the far right corners. // Kelsey frowned and just put her head down, pushing her bowl away. "You don't get it. But fine. If that's what you want. Invite yourself along." She said going silent.
Alexithymiaa: "It is what I want. And I will. It shouldn't matter considering the only time you're going to have away from performing and interviews, will be the dinner with your mom anyway, right?" Picking up the pen, he added an X into the middle box.-
Covet: Connor frowned then put another circle next to his own. Focusing hard on the game. // "Yeah whatever." Kelsey said then looked at Connor. "Hey kiddo, can you let momma out. I need to use the restroom. If I'm allowed to do that by myself?" She said bitterly at Brad.
Alexithymiaa: "By all means." He said, dramatically gesturing toward the bathroom before adding another X to the board of their game. "Good move, buddy."-
Covet: Connor slid out again then got out of the way. Getting back up to the table he looked at Brad and smiled before looking down to see that Brad had blocked him that time."Hmmm.. Okay your turn Dad." Kelsey got out and headed to the bathroom to go be mad for a hot second. The equivalence of some screaming banging the doors about and banging on the sink before just kind of sulking feeling like a complete fool.
Alexithymiaa: "Okay let's see here..." He said, putting on a little show because he intended to let Connor win anyway. "I'll go right here." He intentionally made his mark in the corner, away from his other marks.-
Covet: Connor put down another circle and grinned, "I did it again!" He smiled. // Kelsey finished her little tantrum then turned around and walked out, stopping by the table. "We should get home. It's late and Connor needs to go to bed." She said without looking at them, then headed towards the door to wait for them.
Alexithymiaa: "Wow look at you. You're like a tic tac toe champion." He said with a grin, watching Kelsey as she came out of the bathroom. "Uh... okay." Sliding out of the booth, he turned to Connor. "C'mon little man, Momma's cold."-
