- As Kayley was walking around in Justice Park, she felt the fresh-air blowing in her face, and felt as though along her job as a grocery store manager in training would at least give her money to raise herself and her mother. Ever since her father died of being killed as an officer in a fight, she had to be raised by her mother. When walking, she saw a river and squatted down, reflecting on where her father died when fighting against a criminal when he was being an officer. "I miss you, dad." She said to herself as she as was staring at the water with a sigh. She wished that her father was alive to watch her grow, and even though she did want to follow in her father's footsteps on being a cop to protect the city from being under construction, she didn't know that it would be a dangerous job when her father got killed.
- "That's enough reflecting for today." She thought to herself as she was starting to walk back to her place to rest up from walking. As she was walking back, she heard a "ping ping" sound. Turning around, Kayley saw that there were some sort of arrows that got left on the sidewalk. "Did this belong to someone?" She asked herself as she was picking them up from the ground. She then looked up at the arrows and raised an eyebrow, willing to take it to the police station for a lost item. "Might as well bring these.." She said to herself as she walked towards the police station.
- Luckily, the police station was not too far away and she knew that the police would be returning to its rightful owner. As she walked in, she saw that a police officer was drinking some coffee and she thought that he would be available. "Excuse me, sir?" Kayley asked, as she rang the bell in front of the window. "Yes? How may I help you?" The policeman asked, with his eyebrows raising up. "I found these arrows in the middle of my walk home and they made these "ping sounds...." As Kayley was about to explain more about her finding the arrows, the police man looked closely at the weapon and nodded. "Let me see.." He said, and following his command, Kayley gave him the arrows.
- She saw that the officer was looking at the arrows with suspicion, but thought that they could be useful for the young girl. "Well sir, dad got figure out on who the arrows belong to?" Kayley asked, with anticipation vibes. The man looked at her and nodded. "Unfortunately, these were used by a hero in our city, but he got killed. He was, "the shooting spark" a hero that we used to have to protect our city. He did have to pass on, but the one who touches the arrows would be used to help protect the city. Tell me miss, you interested in protecting and helping others from danger?" As Kayley was looking up at him, she raised an eyebrow. Sure, her father served as a police officer, but, what could a girl like her with arrows?
- Could they be hard to attack villains because of it detecting enemies and it explodes when shooting the target? "Well, I don't know. My father was an officer here. You may have remembered working with him.." "Yes, William McClain. I remember himself so, I assume you are his daughter?" As the officer interrupted her thought, she raised another eyebrow. "Why, yes I am." She replied, as he handed her the arrows again. "I'm Kayley." She introduced herself with a small questionable look on her face. Was she the chosen one to use the arrows? She had no idea on what was going on since she never used archery in her life, and never tried to play with weapons, and her father never taught her on how to be a police officer, even though she did want to follow in her father's footsteps right after his tragic passing. So, perhaps these arrows would come in handy.
- "So, miss Kayley, would you like to become the next, "shooting spark" and help out the town, just like our original hero did, including your father before he died?" This was a hard decision, since she never did something like this in her life, however, at the same time, she wanted to take her father's place when it came to potential battles in the future. "Well, I guess I'll give it a shot." She said, equipping the arrows on her back. "Why, thank you miss Kayley. Now, before you start playing with the weapons, you may need to learn to become educated on what the arrows could do. I know a good place that can help you, since you have a weapon that could help you fight." "There's a school that could help me learn about the weapon? Interesting." She commented, as she saw the officer looking through papers. "Ah, here it is, the school is the Police Academy, a place on where you can become part of the police force and perhaps the instructor could teach you a lesson or two about what those arrows can do." Kayley, grabbing the flyer, read the information on how to apply for the place.l and looked up at the officer. "Go get them, next "shooting spark". The officer said, with a wink. Kayley looked up at the guy and waved to him, looking for the academy. "There it is." She said to herself, not realizing that it was near by. She then walked into the building and looked for some papers to fill out to become a student. She took the papers and quickly started to fill out her information. Although writing all the answers for the questions took her a while to complete, she did at least try to give out accurate information so, the head master could read them. After filling out the papers, she found out the office of the head master and quickly puts the application on his desk. "There you go!" She said to herself as she out them on the desk and then, she walked out, with he arrows still on her back.
- As she got home, she rested on her bed, looking at the arrows, thinking on what she could do with them. Although she may think that the other officers might see her as a woman going into the academy to practice archery, she knew on what to say to fight back. "These arrows belonged to a hero." She said to herself as she set them down on the tabletop next to her. A couple of weeks later, she got a letter from the academy mentioning that she's welcome to learn about on what it takes to become an officer. She was really happy that she ran down to her mother, in happy tears. "What is it, sweetie?" She asked. "Mom, I got into the police academy! Now I could follow dad's footsteps!" She said, and gave her mother the acceptation letter. "Honey, congratulations. I knew that they would accept you, now you will protect the city, just like your father did. If he was here today, he would be proud of you." She said, while hugging Kayley. This was a perfect opportunity for Kayley; Not only was she going to learn about the arrows in detail and on how to use them, but, also would learn on how to be an officer. Also, being the next "Shooting Spark" would not be a bad idea since she would protect the city, in the most heroic way possible.
