  1. “All right, mister, where do you think you’re taking me?” Mimi asked in a teasing tone after Winston Deavor stood her up and covered her eyes with a necktie. “You know how I feel about surprises, I don’t really like ‘em.”
  2. “Yeah, well, this one you will, trust me.”
  3. “You still didn’t answer my question.”
  4. “If I answered your question, it takes all the fun out of it. Here’s a hint, though: we’re heading to the B3 level.”
  5. “We what- inventory? Why on earth are you taking me to inventory?” Mimi asked as he began to gently guide her towards what she assumed was the elevator. Her suspicions were confirmed when she heard the ‘ding’ of the elevator door closing and the beginning of its descent.
  6. “This better be good.”
  7. “Oh it is, Copycorg, it is.”
  8. “Man, I would’ve thought you forgot about that,” Mimi teased. “I mean, high school was like….ten years ago, and then they- relocated…you.”
  9. “Yeah, well,” Winston said with a shrug. “It was easy. Dad’s shareholders were running the company at the time, so I didn’t have a lot to do. Or think about. I’m actually kind of surprised they let me keep the picture of you.”
  10. Mimi shrugged. “Maybe they thought I deserved a fan of my own. I mean it though, Deavor, don’t you dare start a fan club. I don’t like the attention.” She gently nudged him with her elbow. “I like your attention, though.”
  11. “We’re here.”
  12. “Great, can you remove this thing?”
  13. When he lowered her blindfold, Mimi stood, shocked.
  14. “Winston-“
  15. “Yeah, that’s it. The ori-“
  16. “The original Elasticycle!” Mimi interjected, running towards the bike to embrace its tank. “Oh my God!”
  17. “We’ve found almost every part of it. The only thing missing is one of the-“
  18. “Hubcaps?” Mimi asked. “Like…the one on my cubicle that you keep ogling?” She folded her arms over her chest.
  19. “Yeah.”
  20. “Can you go and grab it? I need a moment.”
  21. “Yeah.” With that, he was gone once more, and Mimi ran her hand along the bike’s ivory tank.
  22. “Wow…hello, old friend,” she whispered. She mounted the bike and gripped the handles, turning the tank slightly. “Helen…”
  23. Winston was back before she knew it, and Mimi looked up. “How did they- when my mom destroyed it, I thought…”
  24. “Your mom…destroyed it?”
  25. “Yeah. Sit with me?” she asked, scooting up closer to the tank so Winston could sit on the bike with her. He took the seat and placed his hands around her waist.
  26. “So…how did your mom...know who Elastigirl was?”
  27. “She’s my aunt.”
  28. “No way.” Mimi turned her head to see Winston’s jaw had dropped.
  29. “Yeah. Now d’you see why I never invited you or Evelyn to my house?”
  30. “Did you ever have…any friends over?”
  31. “Nah.” Mimi shrugged. “I mean – it’s no offense to you, really, though. But yeah, she’s my aunt, and Mr. Incredible is my uncle.”
  32. “So wait – your mom took apart her own sister’s bike?”
  33. “Not really. It’s…complicated. I was raised by my grandparents,” Mimi explained. “I was taken from my mom at a young age because of how…she views supers. You know, people like…like me. And Elastigirl. So I grew up with her on my grandparents’ farm before we moved out to Municiberg, California.”
  34. “Where are you from? You never told me.”
  35. “Georgia,” she explained. “Explains the slight accent, right?”
  36. “Yeah.” Winston said with a laugh. “It’s cute, though. So, you guys…still talk, or?”
  37. “Nah. Haven’t talked to her since I was eighteen. So, uh…six years I guess?” Mimi said with a laugh. “I tried to track down every piece of this bike and I told myself I couldn’t come home until I did.”
  38. “Well, now you can!”
  39. “It’s not that simple,” Mimi explained.
  40. “Well, why isn’t it? You have the bike, you said you would come home. What am I not getting?”
  41. Mimi shrugged her shoulders. “I just can’t.”
  42. “What’s happened to you? You’re not the Mimi I remember.”
  43. “You’re right, I’m not. Now are you satisfied?”
  44. “No, just disappointed.”
  45. “You’re starting to sound like her.”
  46. “Good. You need it.”
