- Over the coming days, Savannah grew terrified of something similar happening again. If she lost control of her magic, she could do something that would RUIN her reputation. She could be arrested, or worse, killed! She needed complete and utter control of herself.
- Savannah decided, at some point, she needed to learn the virtue of patience.
- It was no secret that the young girl wanted everything to go her way, on her schedule.

- Mastery of Patience: PASTEBIN HERE
- --
- It’s tough to wait on things to go the way they’re supposed to. Savannah especially has problems with this. Her temper is unrivaled, and with its great size leaves no room for patience. Meditation had never been an ability she were able to conquer, but failure itself had become a challenge for the girl.
- She was going to be patient. She was going to meditate.
- The field outstretched before her. Shimmering grass met the edge of the cliffside, where the sunset dipped over the horizon, splashing citrus hues across the sky. Twirling in tandem beside the colors were deep orange fall leaves, torn from the branches of trees nearby.
- But nature was no beauty to Savannah. It was just a distraction.
- She sat down with her back turned to the sky, facing the border of trees that cut off the clearing. They were tinted with the hues of the sunset but far less irritating. Finally, she shut her eyes.
- ---
- She delved deep into her inner thoughts. Breathe, stay still, stay calm, stay patient… The leaves twirled, the ocean crashed against the cliffside, the wind stirred, the grass rippled, tickling her feet. There were too many things to do and too many things to block out.
- But she tried. She tried to breathe - one, two, three, four seconds in, one, two, three, four seconds out - she tried to stay still - your body is a boulder - she tried to stay calm - this is nothing, it doesn’t matter, you will succeed - she tried to stay patient - it will happen, eventually.
- But she couldn’t. Her breathing grew rapid as annoyance struck home. Her toes wriggled and her fingers tap-tap-tapped against the dirt, anxious and rapid. Her heart was racing, her cheeks flooded. She couldn’t stay still. She couldn’t wait - there was too much of nothing!
- ---
- Her eyes flickered open. A grunt of frustration escaped Savannah’s chest - she rose up and kicked and cursed and shouted. The grass smoked around her. Violent and angry, Savannah lay waste to the field before her.
- Flames erupted, devouring the flora that dotted the ground only moments before. They spread, leaving only a wasteland in their wake. Only when the fire threatened to reach the treeline, to decimate the entire forest, did Savannah take action.
- Standing at the edge of the cliffside, she rose her arms. Water erupted from the surface, streaming upwards and dousing the flames. Steam and smoke clouded the area. She had left it in ruins.
- ---
- There was nothing else to distract her. Exhausted, and at a loss, Savannah fell back down to her rump, staring with wide eyes at what destruction she had caused. It was gray, charred and broken. The sun had already set, leaving the sky a dull blue.
- She crossed her legs and closed her eyes. Compared to the bleak world around her, she was all there was to look at. This made it easier to delve into herself, to find patience. In such a world she had created, there was no passing of time, so wasting it would make no difference.
- Savannah could close her eyes and drift off forever and it wouldn’t make a difference. No one would care. The world wouldn’t turn without her.
- ---
- And surely enough, it didn't. Savannah fell deep into peace, into patience. She found herself. Her destructive anxiety had ebbed away into acceptance - she was finally patient.
- How much time passed was a mystery to her. When her eyes opened, it was still dark and the grass was still gray and ashy. If she moved her hand across it, some of it scraped away, leaving only dirt in it's wake.
- She left the clearing successful - she had proven a point. Savannah could do anything... even be patient.
