Bright: At present, the Gate is the only clue we have to returning to our original worlds. We can’t afford to lose it.

そのままゲートに突入するつもりですか?」
Shima: ...And after eliminating the [GARDS-ORM], you intend to charge straight into the Gate?

「ああ。俺たちがゲートを押さえたところで、
いつまでも開いてるとは限らねえからな」

Shima: You misunderstand. We are going with you. Our goal is not to simply secure the Gate.

Bright: I-I’m sorry...?

「可能であれば、我々もあなた方と共に、
ゲートの向こうの世界へ行きたいと考えています」
Shima: If possible, we would like to accompany you to the world that lies beyond the Gate.

「どういうことですか?」
Misato: Why would you want to do that?

「圧倒的な戦力を持つ
ガルズオルムとの戦いにおいて、
我々は常に劣勢を強いられています」
Shima: We have always fought at a disadvantage against the overwhelmingly powerful GARDS-ORM.

シマ
「もはや手段を選んでいられる余裕は
我々にはありません」
Shima: We are past the point that we can be selective with our methods.

「ガルズオルムの脅威が及ばない世界へ行くと?
ですが我々の世界は…」
Amuro: So you want to go to a world where the GARDS-ORM aren’t a threat? But I’m afraid our worlds are...

「あなた方の話を聞いて、
そちらの世界もけっして平穏と言える状況では
ないことは、理解しています」
Shima: From what you’ve told me, I’m fully aware that your worlds are by no means peaceful.

シマ
「ただ同時に、並行世界がひとつではないことも
わかっています」
Shima: But at the same time, we know with certainty that there are more than just one parallel world.

「…渡り歩くつもりなのか?
安住の地が見つかるまで」
Orga: ...So what, you’re planning to go world hopping until you find one that’s nice and quiet to settle down in?

「この世界を初めから捨てるつもりはありませんが、
生き残れる可能性があるのなら、
我々はそれを模索したい」
Shima: We do not intend to abandon this world right away, however, if there is a chance for survival, then we would gladly explore that possibility.

「わからん話じゃないな…。
俺たちだって、[インベーダー]どものいない世界が
あればと考えたことぐらいある」
Benkei: It’s not hard to see why... I mean, we’ve definitely wondered about there being a world without [Invaders] out there.

「無論、ただついて行くだけでなく、
出来うる限りの協力はさせていただきます」
Shima: Of course, we will not simply follow you, but do everything in our power to assist your endeavors.

「戻れる保証はありませんよ?
それに今後、あなた方は世界は違えども、
同じ人間同士で戦うことになる可能性もあります」
Bright: Without any guarantee that you could return? And keep in mind that our worlds are different. Unlike yours, there is a very good chance you may have to fight humans just like us.

「全て承知の上です」
Shima: I am fully aware.

ブライト
「…どうやら決意は固いようですね」
Bright: ...It would appear you’ve made up your mind.

シマ
「我々が去った後のことについても、
既に備えはしてあります」
Shima: We are already prepared for what may happen after we leave.

ブライト
「わかりました。
元の世界にたどりついた際には、
皆さんに最大限の便宜を図れるよう動きましょう」
Bright: Understood. Once we’ve made it back to our original worlds, we’ll do everything in our power to accommodate you as best we can.

シマ
「感謝します、ブライト艦長」
Shima: I’m grateful for that, Captain Bright.

「いよいよですね」
Minato: It’s finally happening, huh?

シマ
「ああ、想定していたよりも早く
事態が動くことになったな」
Shima: Yes, though things are proceeding faster than I had anticipated.

キョウ
「ちょっと待てよ、生徒会長…。
どういうことだよ、今の話…」
Kyo: Hold on a minute, Student Council President... What did you mean by all that stuff you said just now...?

シマ
「聞いていた通りだ。
我々はこれから彼らと共に、
並行世界へと向かう」
Shima: It is exactly as you heard. We will be going with them to parallel worlds.

シマ
「全てはこの崩壊に向かう世界から、
人類を守りきるために」
Shima: In order to save our humanity from this crumbling world.

キョウ
「わざわざ別の世界に行ってまで
守らなきゃならねえ価値があるのかよ…」
Kyo: I don’t know if it’s worth going all the way to another world just to protect it...

「それに人類っつっても、
どうせ死んじまった人間たちの
単なるデータじゃねえか…」
Kyo: I mean our humanity is just data on people who have already died...

あんた、それ本気で言ってるの!?」
May-Yu: Hold on! Do you seriously mean that!?

「だって、そうじゃねえか…」
Kyo: Well, I just mean...

「幻体は死人ではない。
そう思ったからこそ、
先日、君は戦ったのではないのか?」
Shima: Meta-Bodies are not corpses. Isn’t that why you fought the other day?

キョウ
「そんなの…俺が聞きてえよ…」
Kyo: I just...don’t even want to hear it...

(Kyo starts to leave.)

ミナト
「どこへ行くつもり!?」
Minato: Where do you think you’re going!?

(Kyo’s forehead is glowing.)

キョウ
「…行くなら、あんたらだけで行ってくれ。
俺がそこまで付き合う義理はねえ」
Kyo: ...If you’re going, you’re going without me. I don’t have any obligation to go along with you.

(Kyo teleports away.)

「キョウさん、舞浜サーバーへ帰還しました」
Ricerca: Kyo has returned to the Maihama server.

ミナト
「やはり…今の彼には荷が重すぎたのでは…?」
Minato: I knew it... This was too much for him to handle right now, wasn’t it?

「知らず、周の夢に胡蝶と為れるか…。
いまだ現実と虚構の狭間で
さまよい続けるか」
Lu-Shen: "But he didn't know if he was Zhuang Zhou who had dreamt he was a butterfly”, huh... He’s still lost between reality and fiction.

Shizuno: ...

「彼を追わなくていいのか、イェル?」
Shima: Don’t you want to go after him, Yehl?

「必要ないわ。
今、彼を励ませる人がいるとすれば、
それは私ではないもの」
Shizuno: No need. If there’s anyone that can encourage him, it isn’t me.

「それに…きっと彼は戻ってくるわ」

Kyo: Why am I getting so frantic? Nothing’s changed. It’s already over for us.

「この街も、この俺も…
俺が見ている世界全部が、
偽物でしかねえってのに…」
Kyo: This city, myself... Everything I can see in this world is all a lie...

カミナギ
「もう…!
顔、怖いぞ、キョウちゃん!
ぶー!」
Kaminagi: Geez...! Your face is really scary, Kyo! Hmph!

「カミナギ…?
どうしてここに…?」
Kyo: Kaminagi...? Why are you here...?

カミナギ
「どうしてじゃないでしょ!
ここんとこずうーっとキョウちゃん、
変なんだもん!」
Kaminagi: What do you mean, why!? You’ve been acting really weird for a while now!

「そりゃあ心配ぐらいするでしょ!
幼なじみとしては!」
Kaminagi: Don’t you think I’d be worried about you!? We’ve known each other since we were kids!

「そういうのはいいから、行くよ!」
Kaminagi: Oh whatever, let’s just go!

まさか元気の出る所って言って、
水族館に連れて来られるとは思わなかったけどな!」
Kyo: Ahh, man, that really was fun. But I didn’t expect you to take me to an aquarium to cheer me up!

「いくら泳ぐのが好きだからって、
俺は魚かっつーの!」
Kyo: I love water so much, I may as well be a fish!

Kaminagi: ...

キョウ
「いい気分転換になったぜ。誘ってくれて…」
Kyo: That was a nice change of pace. Thanks for invit—

Kyo: Huh?

「キョウちゃんずっと何か考え事してた。
全然楽しんでなかった…。
楽しんでるフリしてるだけで」
Kaminagi: You were worrying about something the whole time. You weren’t having fun at all... You were just faking it...

Kyo: What are you talking about...?

「私の目は誤魔化せたって、
私のファインダーは誤魔化せないんだからね」
Kaminagi: You might be able to fool me, but not my camera.

Kyo: Kaminagi...

「キョウちゃん、何悩んでるの?
良かったら話して。力になれるなんて、
偉そうなこと言えないけど…」
Kaminagi: Kyo, what’s bothering you so much? You can tell me if you want. I’m not going to act like I can solve your problem, but...

「でも、やっぱり辛いよ…
キョウちゃん悩んでるの、ただ見てるだけなんて…」

Kyo: ...You’re warm, Kaminagi.

「お前、生きてるよな。ここにいるよな!
俺も生きてるよな…!
ちゃんと、いるよな。カミナギの前に…」
Kyo: You’re alive. You’re really here! I’m alive too...! I’m really here, in front of you...

カミナギ
「苦しいよ、離してキョウちゃん」
Kaminagi: You’re squeezing too hard, Kyo... Let go...

キョウ
「嫌だ…!
離したくない、カミナギ…!」
Kyo: No...! I don’t want to let you go, Kaminagi...!

カミナギ
「嫌ぁっ!」
Kaminagi: No!

キョウ
「嘘じゃねえ!
俺は本当に、カミナギのこと…!」
Kyo: I’m not lying! Kaminagi, I really do...!

(Kaminagi looks at Kyo through her camera.)

「駄目だよ…ほら…。
キョウちゃんやっぱり嘘つけない」
Kaminagi: It’s not use... See? You can’t lie to me, Kyo.

キョウ
「あ…」
Kyo: Ah...

カミナギ
「キョウちゃん、先に帰って…
私、忘れ物したから…」
Kaminagi: Go home without me, Kyo... I think I left something inside...

カミナギ
「じゃあね、また明日…」
Kaminagi: Bye. I’ll see you tomorrow...

(Kaminagi leaves.)

Pain and Warmth


(Scene begins on the map screen of a wasteland. The 4 battleships appear. GARDS-ORM mechs surround the Gate.)

シンジ
「良かった…。
ゲートはまだ開いてるみたいだ」
Shinji: Oh, good... It looks like the Gate’s still open.

ルーシェン
「だが既に、ガルズオルムの部隊が展開している」
Lu-Shen: But the GARDS-ORM force has already deployed.

キリコ
「ディド、ゲートが閉じる気配はあるか?」
Chirico: Dido, any sign of the Gate closing?

ディド
「俺の方では何も感じない。
おそらく大丈夫だと思う」
Dido: I’m not sensing anything. So I think it’s probably fine.

アムロ
「ならば、少しでも早く敵を叩いて、
突入するぞ!」
Amuro: Then let’s just hit the enemy as fast as we can and go in!

弁慶
「お前たち、出撃だ!」
Benkei: Get out there, guys!

(The player’s team deploys.)

ハルト
「ねえ、アルティール…
ソゴル君がいないみたいだけど?」
Haruto: Hey, the Altair... Sogoru isn’t here?

メイウー
「気にしないで。遅刻だから」
May-Yu: Don’t worry about it. He’s just late.

(待っているわ、キョウ…)
Shizuno: (I’m waiting for you, Kyo...)

「全機、攻撃開始!
展開する敵機を全て排除しろ!」
Bright: All units, begin the attack! Spread out and eliminate all enemy units!

(Battle 1 begins.)

(Battle 1 ends when all enemies are defeated.)

「今ので最後か。
あとは、ゲートに…」
Lu-Shen: That’s the last of them. Now, the Gate...

メイウー
「待って、敵の反応!
この識別は…」
May-Yu: Wait, I’ve got enemy readings! Their identification is...

(A unique GARDS-ORM mech appears. More GARDS-ORM appear with it.)

「敵大型輸送艦、ヴァージェムです!」
Fosetta: It’s a large enemy transport ship, Viagem!

フォウ
「くっ、艦載機を出してきたか!」
Four: Tch, so they sent out a carrier!

ティエリア
「艦のサイズから考えて、あれで全部とは思えない。
後続が発艦する前に…」
Tieria: Considering the size of the ship, I doubt that’s all that are going to come out. So before more of them launch...

(Boazanian saucers appear.)

健一
「あれはボアザンの!?」
Kenichi: Are those Boazanians!?

オルガ
「チッ、騒ぎを嗅ぎ付けやがったか?
この状況で三つ巴の乱戦ってのは勘弁してほしいぜ」
Orga: Damn, so all the commotion caught their attention, huh? I don’t like the idea of a 3-way fight in a situation like this.

(The Boazanian saucers fire on the battleships.)

「なっ…!?」
Meg: Wha—!?

「奴ら、攻撃をこちらにだけ向けている?」
Didarion: They’re only attacking us?

「こっちの世界にいないボアザンが、
ガルズオルムと手を組んだとは考えにくい。
となれば…」
Ippei: It’s hard to believe our world’s Boazan would join forces with this world’s GARDS-ORM. So that would mean...

「鹵獲し、分析したと考える方が自然だな!」
Lu-Shen: They must have captured and found a way to use them!

超竜神
「円盤からゲートのポイントを引き出したか…!」
ChoRyuJin: Then the saucers that came out of the Gate...!

ミナト
「ガルズオルムの技術力は、
我々に比べてはるかに進歩している!
自爆装置も無力化されたのね…!」
Minato: GARDS-ORM’s technology is more advanced than our own! They were able to neutralize the self-destruct function...!

バナージ
「また新手か!」
Banagher: Another wave, incoming!

(More GARDS-ORM appear.)

アムロ
「話をしている場合ではないな…!
各機は敵母艦に攻撃を集中しろ!」
Amuro: No time to talk...! All units, focus fire on the enemy transport ship!

シンジ
「そんなこと言われても、
これだけ敵がいるのに…!」
Shinji: Even if you say that, there’s just too many enemies...!

ミナト
「戦力が足りません。
ソゴル・キョウを強制転送させます!」
Minato: We don’t have enough troops. I’m forcing Kyo Sogoru to transfer!

シマ
「自らの意志で戻らねば意味が無い。
堪えろ」
Shima: If he doesn’t come back of his own violation, then it’s pointless. Wait.

「しかし…」
Minato: But...

(キョウ…!)
Shizuno: (Kyo...!)

Kyo: Come on, what am I even doing...

Kaminagi: Kyo...

「なんとなくここに来る気がして…」
Kaminagi: Somehow I knew you’d be here...

Kyo: So, uh... Kaminagi... About before...

Kaminagi: Kyo...

(Kaminagi slaps Kyo.)

Kyo: That doesn’t mean you can just hit me out of the blue...

「嫌だったわけじゃないんだよ。
ただキョウちゃん、突然だったから…」
Kaminagi: It’s not that I didn’t want to. It’s just, you were so sudden...

Kyo: I’m alive too... I’m really here, in front of you...

Kyo: That’s it! That’s what it is, isn’t it!?

Kaminagi: Wh-What do you mean, Kyo?

「わかったぜ、カミナギ!
今、俺がやるべきことが!」
Kyo: I got it, Kaminagi! Now I know what I have to do!

シズノ先輩と世界を守るって、
約束しちまったしな!」
Kyo: I gotta go! I promised Shizuno that I’d protect the world!

カミナギ
「行くってどこに…」
Kaminagi: Go where...?

キョウ
「実は黙ってたんだけど、
俺、留学することになったんだ」
Kyo: I didn’t tell you, but, I’m gonna be studying abroad.

カミナギ
「嘘…!?」
Kaminagi: You’re kidding...!?

キョウ
「ああ、それでしばらく帰ってこれねえんだ」
Kyo: I’m serious, so I’m not gonna be coming back for a while.

カミナギ
「それでキョウちゃん…」
Kaminagi: But, Kyo...

キョウ
「ああ。
悪いな、黙ってて…」
Kyo: Yeah. Sorry I didn’t say anything...

「ホントに…
いっつも突然なんだから」
Kaminagi: God... You’re always so sudden with this stuff.

「でも、必ず帰ってくる。

「卒業式までには帰ってくるぜ!」
Kyo: I’ll be back in time for graduation!

Kaminagi: Oh for— I can’t wait that long!

「じゃあ、夏休みだ!」
Kyo: Then, summer vacation!

Kaminagi: Yeah, that’s just barely close enough.

(Scene changes to Zegapain Altair’s cockpit. There’s an explosion sound and the screen shakes.)

「右舷後方に被弾!
防御フィールドの一部が消失!」
Ricerca: Hit on the starboard bow! Part of the defense field has disappeared!

シズノ
「くっ…」
Shizuno: Ugh...

(Kyo teleports inside.)

キョウ
「悪い、遅れた!」
Kyo: Sorry I’m late!

シズノ
「キョウ!?」
Shizuno: Kyo!?

キョウ
「待たせたな!
行こうぜ、先輩!」
Kyo: No time to lose! Let’s go, Shizuno!

シズノ
「…ええ!」
Shizuno: ...Right!


(Scene changes to the map screen.)


ミナト
「敵の物量に押されています!
このままでは…」
Minato: The enemy’s numbers are overwhelming us! If this keeps up...!

シマ
「やはり、母艦を叩かねば…」
Shima: Unless we hit the transport ship...

シズノ
「アルティール、出撃するわ」
Shizuno: Altair, ready to launch!

キョウ
「待たせて悪かった!」
Kyo: Sorry to keep you waiting!

シマ
「戻ったか…
で、答えは出たのか?」
Shima: You’re late... So, have you found your answer?

キョウ
「俺は生きてる!
みんな生きてるってことだ!」
Kyo: I’m alive! And so is everyone else!

シマ
「………」
Shima: ...

シマ
「ゼーガペイン・アルティール、出撃だ!」
Shima: Zegapain Altair, launch!

キョウ
「エンタングルッ!!」
Kyo: Entangle!!

(Kyo appears.)

「ソゴル・キョウ!」
May-Yu: Kyo Sogoru!

「待たせすぎだ…!」
Lu-Shen: Took you long enough...!

ハルト
「ソゴル君、ちょっと遅刻しすぎなんじゃないの?」
Haruto: Aren’t you just a little too late, Sogoru?

キョウ
「かもな。
けど遅れた分は行動で返す!」
Kyo: Maybe. But I’ll make up for it!

(Kyo moves towards the Viagem transport ship, but is cut off by enemy mechs.)

「まさか…突っ込むつもりか!?」
Eiji: No way... He’s not going to just charge in, is he!?

ルーシェン
「フ…!
彼らしいな!」
Lu-Shen: Ha...! That’s so like him!

シズノ
「キョウ!」
Shizuno: Kyo!

キョウ
「邪魔だぁああーっ!」
Kyo: OUTTA THE WAY!

(Kyo uses Holonic Blade Assault against the enemy mechs. A battle animation begins.)

シズノ
「あまり時間はかけられないわね」
Shizuno: We can’t waste much time on them.

キョウ
「道を空けやがれえええー!!」
Kyo: Get the hell outta my waaay!!

ガルズオルムAI
「………」
GARDS-ORM AI: ...

(The battle animation ends. All enemy machines in the way and the Viagem are destroyed.)

宗介
「敵の母艦を落としたか…!」
Sousuke: The enemy transport ship’s going down!

ハルト
「やったね、ソゴル君!」
Haruto: You did it, Sogoru!

キョウ
「キョウでいい!
その代わり、俺もハルトって呼ぶからな!」
Kyo: Just call me Kyo! And from here on, I’ll call you Haruto!

ハルト
「うん、キョウ!」
Haruto: Okay, Kyo!

凱
「どうやら彼は立ち直れたみたいだな」
Guy: Looks like he’s standing on his own two feet again.

ブライト
「これで増援はなくなったはずだ。
各機、残存戦力の掃討にかかれ!」
Bright: There shouldn’t be any more reinforcements now. All units, mop up the remaining enemy forces!

(Battle 2 begins.)

「ソゴル・キョウ。
ようやく目覚めてくれたようだな」
Lu-Shen: Kyo Sogoru. It looks like he’s finally awoke.

「まったく遅すぎるのよ!」
May-Yu: But it took him forever!

「曲がった釘は、金槌で直せ。
無茶ではあったがうまくいったようだ」
Lu-Shen: His style is to fix a bent nail with a hammer. It’s reckless, but it works.

「作戦はここからだ。
各[セレブラント]はオケアノスに帰投。
ゲート突入に備えろ」
Shima: The operation begins now. All [Celebrants], return to the Oceanus. Prepare to enter the Gate.

「…本当にいいのですね、シマ司令?」
Bright: ...Are you sure about this, Commander Shima?

シマ
「無論です。答えは変わりません」
Shima: Of course. My answer remains the same.

ブライト
「…わかりました。
では、我々に続いて突入を」
Bright: ...Understood. Then follow us inside.

キョウ
「これで舞浜とも、しばらくお別れだな」
Kyo: Guess we’ll be saying goodbye to Maihama for a while.

シズノ
「伝え忘れていたけれど、
私たちのいない間の舞浜は、
不都合のない形にデータが書き換えられる」
Shizuno: I forgot to tell you but while we’re away, Maihama’s data will be rewritten.

シズノ
「みんな、私たちがそこにいるかのように、
生活していくことになるはずよ。
キョウ、あなたも…」
Shizuno: Everyone is going to live their lives as if we were never there. Kyo, even you...

キョウ
「いや、俺のデータは
ちゃんといないことにしておいてくれ」
Kyo: Nah, just make it look like my data isn’t there for a while.

シズノ
「いいの、それで…?」
Shizuno: Are you sure...?

キョウ
「ああ…。
忘れたくねえんだ。
待っている人がいるってことをさ」
Kyo: Yeah... I don’t want them to forget. Because I have someone waiting for me.

シズノ
(待っている人…)
Shizuno: (Someone waiting...)

「…いいわ。
あなたがそう望むのなら」
Shizuno: ...Alright. If that’s what you want.

キョウ
「サンキュー、先輩!」
Kyo: Thanks, Shizuno!

(All mechs leave the map. The battleships all surround the Gate.)

「ようやく俺たちの世界に帰ることができる」
Banagher: We can finally go back to our world.

「みんな、無事でいるって信じているぜ…」
Guy: Everyone, I have faith you’ve all been safe and sound...

「よし!
これより全艦、ゲートへ突入する!」
Bright: Alright! All ships, proceed into the Gate!

キョウ
(俺は必ず帰ってくる!
待っていてくれよな、カミナギ!)
Kyo: (I’ll definitely be back! Just wait for me, Kaminagi!)
