Fluffy Visitor

>Pouring rain all day.
>Come home late.
>Slide key in front door.
>Hear noise under front steps.
>Quietly grab big flashlight and baseball bat.
>Creep down steps.
>Shine light into crawlspace.
>"Eeeee! Sowwee! Pwease no hit fluffy!"
>It's just a fluffy stray.
>Dirty, wet, at least it's not covered in shit.
>"Fwood pwease? New daddy? Am good fwuffy."
"Get lost you."
>"Sowee. Pwease can stay? No poopies here...am smart fwuffy."
"No you can't live under my front steps."
>"Onwy tiwl water stop. Cowd...wet...pwease.  No bwing odder fwuffies."
"Fine, you can stay until the rain stops, then out!"
>Fluffy smiles; "Tanks! Mister is vewy good, vewy nice!"
>Go inside.
>Make dinner.
>Real storm outside.
>Watch a movie.
>Time to sleep.
>Have some leftovers.
>Couldn't hurt.
>Go outside, leave plate of leftovers under stairs for fluffy pony.
Next morning.
>Clear day.
>Going to work; check under stairs.
>Plate of food untouched.
>Fluffy pony died during the night.
>Died cold, alone.
>Drop dead fluffy stray in the trash.
>At least he won't be alone at the city dump.
