few things make less sense than pow-wowing with someone who totally disagrees with you because they hold up to your idea of consistency. Usually what it means is you think someone similar to you needs similar positions and affectations, but doesnt so you get mad. Really, there isnt much different from someone not having all your positions, and someone not caring about or showing hostility to your positions. In both cases they dont hold opinions or standards you do, one just is closer. In the specific case I am thinking of, someone doesnt make a big deal out of certain things (for whatever reason, possibly even good ones) so the person prefers to liberal who doesnt care about those same things at all because they dont want to look into it
