My child's high school (let's call it "Tree School") sends out a daily newsletter to a mailing list of parents of thousands of parents and students.

Here are the email headers of the regular Daily Bulletin:

Then you get the nicely formatted high school newsletter.

Yesterday, to the list, someone complained about being unable to unsubscribe.

People fail to unsubscribe or understand what’s happening, and the emails keep rolling in.

I'm getting these emails too.  Not sure why I'm on the list.  Maybe when Kim replied to SHS bulletin, we (parents on the email list) got the notification as well.  If that's the case, then Tree School needs to look at their email distribution/privacy security set up.

Hey everyone!

Yes, I'm kind of annoyed too (but the delete button is my friend), but I would note that the people may be hitting reply all, but the culprit is the ths.daily.bulletin e-mail. They need to reply to that one (as instructed in the e-mail) to be deleted.  The problem is that before, replying to that e-mail only went to the source of the e-mail, now it's going to the whole list.  Lisa Picchi is probably WELL aware of this glitch now.

So I'm not the only one who tried unsuccessfully to unsubscribe (the emails bounce from the address we're supposed to use, even WITH "Remove Me" in the subject line).

I'm also not the only one getting all these messages, but it looks like my only hope for unsubscribing is to broadcast this to everyone else.

Could someone PLEASE not only unsubscribe me, but stop broadcasting all the failed attempts to all of us?  I know TSHSD is underfunded, but maybe the best solution is not to use electronic communication if you can't afford to maintain it.

Unsubscribing just worked for me when I included "REMOVE ME" in the subject line.

I used this e-mail address:

     “ths.daily.bulletin+unsubsribe@treeschool.org",

but i bet

     “ths.daily.bulletin@tree”

would work as well.

Make sure to include "REMOVE ME" in the subject line of your message.
