- About Alignment Positions
- There's no real information about how to change your alignment on this wiki,
- so here there's going to be some information pertaining to that. The way it works is this:
- Making a LAW Choice = LAW [+X]
- Making a CHAOS Choice = CHAOS [+X]
- To figure out your current alignment, take your CHAOS points and subtract them from your LAW points. Any higher than 9, and you'll be LAW. Any lower than -9, and you'll be CHAOS.
- If you check every time you make a choice in-game, and add points appropriately, it should be easy to understand. (Though your own experience may differ)
- All choices lean to either CHAOS or LAW, and NEUTRAL choices are basically non-existent. Not only that, but CHAOS can go up to -100 and LAW can go up to +100, but NEUTRAL can only be between -8 and +8. So it's within an extremely narrow range.
- [For the sake of ease, text will follow an L/N/C abbreviation system]
- Some notes about the choices throughout the game:
- Shifting Alignments
- The battle with Issachar in Kiccigorgi
- If you finish the battle in two turns or less, you'll receive no changes.
- Beating the Minotaur
- Your choices mid-battle don't matter, but you get C+5.
- Finishing off Dullahan grants C+1, not doing so grants L+1.
- At the Black Samurai's question in the Ikebukuro bookstore "Could you live in Tokyo?"
- [I could manage it.] = C+1, [I could never.] = L+1, [I don't know.] = No Change
- This choice might be a slight issue. (?)
- In the battle with Tenkai
- The first question, "What sort of city is your ideal Tokyo?"
- [A peaceful city of order.] = L+1, [A wild city of freedom.] = C+1
- [One of both order and freedom.] = No change.
- Now, if your choices and current state match (i.e. currently at 0), then you will have to add 1 to something
- However, if you aren't, then you should go +1 in the opposite direction. For example, if you are currently leaning CHAOS or LAW then you should choose the opposite.
- At Tenkai's second question, [I'll reform it.] = C+1, [I'll sustain it.] = L+1, [I don't know.] = No change.
- Choosing a Route
- Going with Jonathan yields L+10, going with Walter yields C+10
- Jonathan's Route's Changes
- Defeating Lilith (Killing her?) = L+5
- At Walter's question at the Yamato Reactor
- [Completely.] = C+1, [Don't speak for me.] = L+5
- Walter's Route's Changes
- “Assassinate the weapons of national defense” (Koga-Saburou, Michizane, Omoikane) = C+3
- Tayama's question: [You'd march into a place that had it made and force them to change it all?]
- [I see no issue.] = C+1, [It is a bit vexing.] = L+5
- The battle with Yamato-Takeru has no effect, but pressing the button gives C+5, and you have no choice but to do so in order to proceed.
- Common Choices (both Jonathan and Walter)
- At the White Men's question: [Have you ever given thought to why humans are born?]
- [Yes, I have.] = C+1, [No, I haven't.] = No Change
- Walter's question inside the Shinjuku Shelter in Blasted Tokyo
- [Kill them before they kill us.] = No Change, [Let's wait and see...] = L+8
- Showing the DSP to Kiyoharu
- [Show him] = L+3, [Don't show him] = C+3
- Accepting the quest from Akira “The Accidental Messiah” = L+1
- Accepting the quest from the citizens in Blasted Shinjuku “Defeating the Demon” = L+5
- Walter's question in the battle with Pluto (includes an unavoidable C+5 for defeating Pluto)
- [Quite so.] = C+6, [It does bear consideration.] = C+4
- Pressing the switch at the Yamato Reactor in Ichigaya = C+5
- In Infernal Kasumigaseki, telling Akira where you're from
- [Tokyo] = L+5, [Eastern Kingdom of Mikado] = No Change
- Accepting the main quest from Akira “Shinjuku is Mine” = C+1
- Walter's question after the battle against 'Mahāmayuri' in Infernal Shinjuku
- [I'd like to go home.] = No Change, [I don't want to go back.] = C+5
- Walter's question at the Ichigaya SDF Camp: [It's strange, isn't it?]
- [It is strange.] = C+1, [It's not strange at all.] = L+5
- Before the Final Route Split
- [Preserve the status quo] = L+15, [Destroy the status quo] = C+5
- It may be that pressing the remote grants you L+5, so [Preservation] may as well be L+10, and [Destruction] may be C+10.
- N-Route Strategy - “Nothing but the top choice”
- In the original thread on 2ch, there was a strategy on how to get the NEUTRAL route, that we have verified. Please use this as a reference. If you aren't familiar with it already, it's built on 5 main principles:
- -Always pick the top choice
- -At the Passage of Ethics, always pick left (Chaos)
- -Go with Jonathan when you can
- -At the last route split, pick [Destroy the status quo]
- -Only complete main quests that are absolutely necessary (up until the route lock)
- Now, from the beginning you'll be at 0. After the first route split, if you pick every option and end up with C+1, that won't be sufficient. So, in that case you will have to go with [Eastern Kingdom of Mikado] when Akira asks where you're from. Other than that, always pick the top option.
- If you defeat Issachar in 2 turns or less, the choices for him in the battle won't appear.
- In that case, you'll have to be -5 just before the route split. All the top options will still be okay, though you can ignore the woman in Ikebukuro (though saying [Demon] is still okay) and still enter the NEUTRAL route. Saying [Demon] will give C+10.
- EXAMPLE (includes telling the lifeless woman in Ikebukuro that you are a Demon):
- [Extend your arm] during the gauntlet rite.
- [Possibly...] to Walter's question.
- [Introduce yourself] to Isabeau.
- [It is a worthy duty.] to Walter's question about being a samurai.
- Say you know Issachar.
- [Agree to end Issachar's suffering by your own hands]
- [We should.] in response to the monastery's quest.
- [I share your view of it.] to Jonathan's question about collecting relics.
- [The surface.] when Hikaru asks where you're from.
- [Spare Dullahan]
- [Do not kill Kuebiko]
- At the Black Samurai's question, say [I could manage it.], then arrest her.
- Say you want to join the Ring of Gaea.
- At the Passage of Ethics, go right, left, then right.
- In the battle with Tenkai, pick both Neutral options.
- Pick Jonathan's route.
- At Walter's question at the Yamato Reactor, say [Completely.]
- At the White's question, say [No, I haven't.]
- At Walter's question in Blasted Shinjuku, say [Kill them before they kill us.]
- Show Kiyoharu the DSP.
- During the battle with Pluto, say [Quite so.]
- Tell Akira you're from the Eastern Kingdom of Mikado.
- After the fight with Mahamayuri, say [I don't want to go back.]
- Tell Walter [It is strange.]
- Select [Destroy the status quo]
- NEUTRAL ROUTE
