  1. ZiV Simfile League Week 4 Feedback
  2. *I generally looked at the one or two hardest charts (ignoring edits) to base my decisions.
  3.
  4. Nezemarth vs FoRCeDNaTuRe
  5.
  6. EVERY TIME I SEE YOU (Nezemarth)
  7. - Imo should be a 13 due to patterning complexity
  8. - Nice chart! I like the rhythms and gallops, while not 100% consistent, seem like they'd be enjoyable to play
  9. - Good flow
  10.
  11. perfect sunrise (FoRCeDNaTuRe)
  12. - Pretty damn tough for a 13 with all the runs
  13. - Confusing shock arrow usage that drops halfway through the song; typical DDR meta treats it like a center step but this strays from that
  14. - Pretty good patterning, everything comes together well for both ESP and CSP
  15.
  16. Very close decision, but my vote goes to EVERYTIME I SEE YOU; it was the overall cleaner chart with more appealing elements to me.
  17.
  18. VanEden vs hooky
  19.
  20. Store (VanEden)
  21. - Pretty easy for a 13; I might compare it to 妄想感傷代償連盟 ESP 12 in DDR A20.
  22. - Solid patterning and awareness to the song's different sounds as usual. Challenge feels really slick
  23. - Sync feels early
  24. - Similar thoughts on ESP
  25.
  26. Love So Soft (hooky)
  27. - Steps match lyrics and sounds in song very well
  28. - I like the use of forced doublesteps
  29. - Slowdown feels a little forced but works
  30. - Pretty polished
  31.
  32. Very tight margins here. I went with Store; I personally preferred it slightly more.
  33.
  34. DigitalBasic vs vonafroa
  35.
  36. Walk Thru Fire (DigitalBasic)
  37. - Seems very easy for an 11
  38. - I like the representation of 'walking through fire' with the mines
  39. - Clean chart; rhythms, patterning and flow all work well. Nothing to complain about
  40.
  41. It Makes You Forget (Itgehane) (vonafroa)
  42. - m7 jump is an ambiguous entry, but since it can be footswitched if entered wrong not the biggest deal
  43. - m26 unmarked footswitch/doublestep
  44. - Creative and interesting patterning; rhythms are alright
  45. - Difficulty curve is a little frontloaded, but works as the patterning changes
  46. - Hard af for an 11
  47.
  48. Although Walk Thru Fire was the more polished chart, my vote goes to It Makes You Forget as it is the more interesting and memorable one.
  49.
  50. K-Step vs TonyAkita
  51.
  52. I Want You (K-Step)
  53. - Clean chart. Slowdowns make sense and the patterning is crispier than I've seen from your files in previous weeks
  54. - Patterning is pretty good, straightforward stuff
  55. - Rhythms fit the bill well; some tricky stuff but goes to the song.
  56.
  57. Emmene-moi au Futur (TonyAkita)
  58. - Weird difficulty spike around 1:30 during a calm section of the song. I understand the rhythms but it sticks out to me
  59. - Great great chart otherwise; liking the attention to detail and pattern symmetry
  60. - Difficulty curve a bit stagnant
  61.
  62. It was a difficult choice, but I went with I Want You (K-Step).
  63.
  64. Mr.Music vs Braeden47
  65.
  66. Hoshikuzu no yoru hate (Mr.Music)
  67. - Quite possibly my favorite chart you've put out this contest. Clean patterning and rhythms, good symmetry, unique sections that give the charts personality (crossovers and 16ths, Sakura Sunrise style stepjumps)
  68. - m55 footswitch isn't immediately clear
  69.
  70. I Wanna Be Rich (Braeden47)
  71. - Awkward place to start the file
  72. - Flow breaks sometimes, often out of jumps
  73. - Good to use freezes to correspond to sounds in the song, but done inconsistently
  74. - Abrupt cut
  75. - Good rhythms
  76.
  77. My vote went to Hoshikuzu no yoru hate; it was the overall more polished and well-made file.
  78.
  79. HealingDMax300 vs ohaiimian
  80.
  81. Rightfully (HealingDMax300)
  82. - Charted really well, but I really wish you were able to make a higher difficulty file work. Some untapped potential for challenging and interesting rhythms like you've done before with Jade Runs here.
  83. - Great rhythms and patterning, although asymmetric here and there
  84.
  85. Gameoson vs djVERTICAl
  86.
  87. Saiyajin (Gameoson)
  88. - Overall very well made; patterning and rhythms both match song very well and show thought and care
  89. - Repeated 16ths + jacks + jumps may be uncomfortable in practice; I have mixed thoughts on its use
  90. - ESP was great, nothing to complain about
  91.
  92. Ame To Okami (djVERTICAl)
  93. - Both ESP and CSP are charted in a very enjoyable way; the constant twists, freezes, and stepjumps look fun but still feel light
  94. - Feels more 'freely' charted than what Gameoson or VanEden might put out
  95. - Rhythms work well. Jumps accent the patterning and the song equally well
  96. - As I expressed on the thread, I think that CSP is more like a hard 15 and ESP more like a hard 14.
  97.
  98. Minor flow oddities in CSP:
  99. - m34 freeze into the next jump resolves somewhat oddly and isn't very intuitive, unless it's meant to be performed as a spin
  100. - m48 footswitch into jump isn't immediately apparent, although this isn't that much of a problem
  101. - m96 doublestep
  102.
  103. My vote went to Ame To Okami. Both charts were very well-made, and the caliber is really high, but I would personally enjoy playing Ame To Okami more in practice.
