- Lots of yap incoming as for why I went out of my way to go for these types of builds. But if it's inspiring in any way, I'd be glad. These can be tweaked freely, as long as the core idea remains.
- One thing that has bothered me with puppets from vanilla SoD onwards is that a lot of them are really really "rainbow" throughout their different styles, which makes it harder to remember what they even do or are. Take for example Seiran, where all styles are so different in typing, ability and learnset which makes it hard to really grasp who or what Seiran actually is.
- Granted, the PC98 midbosses are complete blank slates with like 1-2 things going from them so going rainbow and making whatever as wildcards would be viable, but I think it would be better to just stick a single theme and carry it out, even if it may seem "boring" at first. In base game, you see a lot of puppets do that, even beloved fan favorites like Youmu, who actually shares types AND abilities throughout in 2 styles with (sort of) similar stat spreads, yet they function differently and are both viable. The Extra style still retains the steel typing and doesn't go a full 180 either. There are many puppets like that, some do it better, some do it worse. The exras are still mostly the wild ones, but considering the current nothingburgers in the game (Koakuma, Daiyousei, TOKIKO, Lily(bar extra cuz wtf is that) and a bunch of other characters that had like 1 single real appearance and still manage to do that like Kotohime or the Tsukumos. There are more but I'm not gonna list every single character in existence, I hope you get my point)
- Tl;dr: I would really like it if these characters focused on a trait to make them memorable. You have the chance to give these characters a place in the fandom and it would be nice if they actually received some sort of care, rather than just being a bunch of randomness.
- For Ayana I went with Warped as the main type. There isn't a large reason for that because Ayana truly is a nothingburger bar very very few specifics that are more contributions of her context. This is a stretch, but my reasoning for Warped will be that it is the posterchild for something that is "not normal" (in the sense that it is twisted around, or an attribute that has been messed with; as seen with ESagume, EYuki and EMai for example; but in this case Koakuma, who had been seen as a "demon" until that point has the Warped type attributed to her as well) and Makai is described as a place where humans could not live. It's kind of the antithesis to our world, which would mean the "Void" type in there would be "Warped". Quite the stretch. Dark would have fit too, but I think Dark would make these uses completely unusable. Poison is another alternative, because Makai is filled with Miasma (which is probably just their equivalent to air probably), but Poison makes her a little problematic since she would share too many characteristics with Hina then (see more below... I wrote that part first and don't feel like putting it up here again).
- Now why is the demon weak the miasma surrounding it? Don't worry about it. Yuki gets to be immune in one style, and hilariously explodes to it in the other. Her normal style can have Antibody or Weather Resist as the secondary ability to reference the immunity to the miasma.
- Her speed will generally be on the slower side since she's holding the line, but she does teleport around, so she'll get switch out moves. Her main attacking stat for the normal forms will be her focus attack, since her sprite's attacking animation uses those veils like quasi-drills, similar to how Iku uses heres in the fighting games. There is no reference to this in Mystic Square, but in there all she does is raise her arms and there are no armpit type attacks sadly.

- This is a mono warped that has to compete with DKoakuma of all things as a speed control/defensive shit and you need to go for extreme lengths to do that, which I don't know if these will be enough. However, these are already extreme and I'll get into detail later. Last Defense's meaning in Japanese is actually something akin to "defending a castle/holding the line until death" which does actually fit what little thing she does in MS. It isn't much, but it's about as good flavor as you can give her. Air Cushion is here because the sprite looks like that and that's the same reason Hina got it. (Pretty sure) Well, it's also a good ability and that's something that this will need to hold up.
- There are 2 ways this does speed control, the dumb way, which is Genbu + Lullaby a lá DDoremy using the Genbu item, or the real version, WGG into Fading Out. This enables a lot of stupid attackers to go really stupid, but it's not like this can set Calm on its own to extend it. Also, this combo already exists on EYatsuhashi (albeit using Changeling), so maybe there's nothing to worry about.
- Fading Out is necessary to make that combo a lot more potent, better and unique, while also managing to not buff EWako and other dark immunity friends further with this thing just existing.
- Also, Air Cushion on a mono Warped is pretty amazing.

- I mainly tried to differentiate this from EKoishi as an offensive focus Warped piece. I think in order to make something with a BST as low as this and mono Warped work, especially when things with high value like ESagume exist too, something like Oni Dance is imperative. I also tried to mostly differentiate the coverage options in terms of type from EKoishi, but I think even if they were the same, the way they operate is very different. With the Finishing Blow change Koishi's main draw is to blow up anything super hard that already ate some status. Additionally she owns things through higher imemdiate damage a lá Overdrive or slaps them quick with a priority move. While EKoishi is more of a midgame piece, this is more f a lategame wincon. However, in that aspect it also competes with Yachie who is absurd in many more ways. Yachie will find a lot of setup opportunities by virtue of having that secondary Fighting type, allowing her to setup on Steel Earth combos with relative ease thanks to her naturally high focus bulk. Alas there is also no focus variant for Infinite Scales that Ayana could use and a single boost is most likely not going to be enough under normal circumstances. However, as I've managed for AAyana, Air Cushion on a mono Warped is really really good, meaning she can easily take that type combo as well AND be immune to most entry hazards, which I like to thing is a pretty big draw. It's not enough to get on the level of Yachie's really high firepower, but she also does get the FoDef boost to make up for it AND First Aid. Sadly Warped isn't that great of an offense type that a single coverage move will solve all your problems, so you'll have to amke some decisions when building her. I don't know what the environment will end up looking like, but Sound's probably going to be her best bet. Wind is also pretty great, but then you're just jestergooning against other Warped types.
- Alternatively, if you don't want her to be the winning piece, you can also just use her as a defensive piece. The stats aren't exactly high, but she does get healing, a hazard move, a good ability+type combo and some respectable speed.

- "Baru what da hell are you on giving something Rift Leap and Brave Song?" is most likely not something you've asked yourself here! I think this is going to be completely fine in that regard. In fact, I checked the other ones that get the move and thought that this might actually still be a bit undertuned, but I feel like I like this thing's current power level. It's a spread Warped Wind with mediocre speed like ETokiko, but the abilities and movepools should set those two really far apart in use.
- I thinka more worrisome trend is how I try to make EKurumi-esque things that can be played both offensively or defensively depending on how you spec them, but this might not work all that well due to the limited stats available on these 470 BSTs. (And well, increased power level in the game)
- Alas, the 3 Ayanas didn't end up having some Sniper build with the drill moves like SSara does, but I don't thing that's necessary since... Well, Sara and Enoko do it fine enough. There is also no Drill attack that works particularly well with Warped, so they get to be flavor on the focus versions only. The extra does get Spiral Strike to nudge towards it a little too though.
- And that's it! I hope these are to your liking. I mostly oriented myself on the current extended build with these so they might actually still be on the weaker side, but I think they can be tweaked and optimized a little further probably if there's need for that. I believe they'd do mostly fine in the current environment. The same usual things tend to be hard stops towards them, but if you made lots of things that are just out to beat those criminals you're gonna end up with stuff that just decimate everything. Probably.
