  1. This series is better than Hunt Down the Freeman in every way imaginable:
  2.
  3. 1. It is established right out the gate that Moint Pan is a HECU marine who "fights for his country and for himself" and "is happy to shoot more nerds", no unnecessary backstories needed such as Mitchell's sobbing childhood.
  4.
  5. 2. In the original HDTF, unless the player is familiar with Half Life, the player will have no idea that their orders are to kill Gordon Freeman and the science team. In this parody, it is stated very clearly that Moint Pan's mission is to kill scientists and Gordon Freeman.
  6.
  7. 3. Moint Pan actually wears proper HECU gear like in the original Half Life, unlike in HDTF where he wears military fatigue.
  8.
  9. 4. When Gman offers Moint Pan a deal, Gman goes straight to the point and says whom Moint Pan will be working for and his mission. And Moint Pain is even given the ability to respond to Gman's demands, further emphasizing Moint Pan's desire to kill Gordon Freeman. In HDTF, everything is kept vague and whether or not if something will happen to Mitchell should he decline Gman's offers.
  10.
  11. 5. In HDTF, it's poorly explained as to how Mitchell was transported to the hospital in such a short time but without getting changed into a patient gown, while also being placed inside an empty operation room. In this video, the author did away with all of that and just placed Moint Pan back to Black Mesa where he supposingly wakes up at.
  12.
  13. 6. No unnecessary characters such as Nick, Colonel Que, Sargent Harvey, Larry etc just for the sake of having more characters and Youtube celebrities. It's just Adam who is supposed to be a pivotal character.
  14.
  15. 7. Moint Pan actually mourned for the deaths of the zombies he killed, saying that he's sorry that he could not save the person before a headcrab latched onto him, giving Moint Pan some humanity, something HDTF clearly did not do.
  16.
  17. 8. In this video, it is very clearly stated that why Moint Pan can trust Adam, as ridiculous as the reason may be. In HDTF, every player will know that Adam is a shady character who should not be trusted but Mitchell for some reasons, does not know that.
  18.
  19. 9. In this video, Moint Pan does not magically become the commander of his team, no "poorly and oh-so mysterious curses" on Moint Pan to make him more Mary Sue.
  20.
  21. 10. No walls of text and monologue describing what the combine has done to humanity. The author only needed to explain the situation in just a few sentence and a few whacky Gmod animations with no redundancy.
  22.
  23. 11. In this video, we can clearly see how Moint Pan acquire all of his soldiers in this clone factory by defeating the evil boss. Whereas in the game, the player just kills a random number of combines and the level abruptly ends.
  24.
  25. 12. We can also see Moint Pan's clear motive to acquire these kids: He wants an army to hunt down the Freeman. We don't know any of that in HDTF; we only know Mitchell might or might not use his army as slaves.
  26.
  27. Part 2
  28. 13. We know what Moint Pan has been doing in the past 17 years and his relation to the child army; He's been fighting the combine and his men adore Moint Pan. Aside from the game vaguely suggested that Mitchell only uses his men as body shields, none of these are told to us in HTDF.
  29.
  30. 14. In the Gman scene, we can very easily tell why Moint Pan does not want to continue the deal at all, to which Gman replies that if he kills Freeman, his army will be the "strongest in the entire world", giving Moint Pan some much needed incentives to honor the deal. In HDTF, Mitchell says he just wants the suffering to end but without properly conveying to the player what the "suffering" really is.
  31.
  32. 15. Moint Pan states very immediately as to why he has to bring his army to City 17, as he has made deal with Gman to kill Freeman so that he will have a strong army to survive the unforgiving aftermath of the combine terraforming, as such we can see Moint Pan actually treats his men like actual people. In HDTF, Mitchell only very says all of these is for "survival of the fittest" and keeps his own motives vague, making one wonder why anyone wants to follow Mitchell in the first place.
  33.
  34. 16. We can also see Moint Pan's plan from the get go: Where he has to arrange a meeting with Dr Breen and kill Gordon Freeman. None of these are told to the player at all in HDTF.
  35.
  36. 17. This video actually properly explains why clonsman knows the kids in the clone factory, because Gman introduced him into the deal. We don't really know how the kids came to be in HDTF.
  37.
  38. 18. Soon, we will see Moint Pan questioning his own motives as to why he would suddenly switch sides to kill rebels instead of fighting the combines. HDTF did not even try to make Mitchell more of a character at all.
  39.
  40. 19. When Adam shoots Sasha, the author actually explains Moint Pan trusts Adam to no end because they've killed the same people in the past, as ridiculous as it may sound. In HDTF, we don't know why Mitchell would trust Adam at all despite him being clearly shady.
  41.
  42. 20. Gman then mocks Moint Pan for foolishly believing the deal was actually made for Moint Pan himself. And very clearly explaining to the player that the man who crowbared Moint Pan was actually Adam the whole time and the deal was actually made for Freeman to make his escape easier, sacrificing Moint Pan in the process while Adam enjoys all the wealth at the end. Further more, we can then see Moint Pan understanding what's actually going on. Now we don't need to rewatch a cutscene again, backwards and from a different perspective for an unnecessary amount of time.
  43.
  44. 21. The surreal-supernatural cutscenes actually make sense in part 2, as we see the vortigants transported Moint Pan to another realm where he could find answer to his plight, where he meets einstein scintist to find out he should be doing in his life next. No need to use pseudo symbolic, poorly explained imagery to see Mitchell's supposed after life.
  45.
  46. 22. We can clearly see what Adam does after he takes over the boat where he treats the army as slaves. In HDTF, Adam doesn't actually do much after the takeover to make us dislike him.
  47.
  48. 23. At last, the ending actually explains why Moint Pan would travel to Borealis because of a vision he saw when he met einstein scintist. In HDTF, there is no way Moint Pan would know anything about the Borealis, at least not that the player knows of.
  49.
  50. In conclusion, HUNT DOWN FREEMAN is actually better than the original HDTF.
