  1. Homestuck Class Guide: Pages
  2.
  3. Page: One who Invites Exploitation of (Aspect) or one who Invites Exploitation through (Aspect)
  4.
  5. Pages start with a deficit in their Aspect that they try to overcome through overcompensation. They only pretend that they’ve totally got a grip on their Aspect even when it’s painfully obvious that they actually don’t.
  6.
  7. Good Example: Tavros Nitram, Page of Breath
  8.
  9. BREATH: Paper/Mail, Ghosts, Wind, Flight/Wings, Bubbles, Individuality, Emotional Disconnection, Insensitive, Freedom, Dispassionate, Independence, Movement, One Track Mind, Motivation, Direction
  10.
  11. Tavros was pretty obvious, in the beginning hes basically always been “Oh yeah, look at all this confidence I have, yup, totally confident.” Even though it was painfully obvious he had no idea what confidence really was. The reason he’s the good example though is because he DID eventually gain actual Breath, he became more insensitive, became an individual, independent and had some actual motivation to do shit. He flipped Vriska off and said later bitches, im gone!
  12.
  13. Struggling Example: Jake English, Page of Hope
  14.
  15. HOPE: Positive Emotions, Belief, Faith, Cherubs/Angels, Miracles, Delusions, Possibilities, Potential, Inspiration, Devotion, Encouraging, Dilly Dallying, Opening Perspective, Indecisive, maybe, iunno
  16.
  17. Jake is definitely struggling as a Page. His always seemed like he had a totally grasp on his aspect, always being Hopeful, Positive and Encouraging, though i suspect this is also a front or overcompensation for a kid who really feels hopeless and unsure what to do. He plays at adventuring, maybe not quite ready to deal with the huge consequences of playing SBURB. Though I feel like he has a good chance of actually being a positive encouraging influence on his teammates and therefore becoming a successful Page.
  18.
  19. Failed Example: Horuss Zahhak, Page of Void
  20.
  21. VOID: Nothing/Everything, Shadows, Ocean/Liquid, Alcohol, Secrets, Lies, Misfortune, Irrelevance, Submission, Obscurity, Hiders, Questions, Short Answer People, Ignorance, Mystery, Darkness, Tainted
  22.
  23. Horuss definitely failed at being a Page, he was so focused on the possibilities that Void contained, that he decided to become anything and everything, unable to settle down on one thing. He overcompensated to the extreme, and never really understood what Void was. Void is not “Nothing” but it is also not “Everything” Void is simply the unknown, there is something there, but what is there is only known to the Void player for which its important, meaning only Horuss could know what Horuss should be or want, and if he failed at finding what he was within the Void, then no one could help him. Void is the dark water that hides the object of importance. He could have been anything, if he had only looked within himself and chosen. Instead he tried to do everything, failing the whole point of choosing whats important to himself.
  24.
  25. all in all, Pages will try to overcompensate for their aspect, sometimes to the extreme, they will seem to have an abundance of their aspect and they themselves may believe this, but to anyone looking hard enough, its painfully obvious that they don’t. Their challenge is to have a real understanding and abundance of their Aspect.
  26.
  27. Pages, being the Passive Exploit class, would Invert to Thieves, the Active Steal class.
  28. For example: A Page of Light would invert to a Thief of Void or a Page of Breath would invert to a Thief of Blood.
