[13:29] <The_Cool_DM> She laughs, and the two of you arrive at the back of the tent.
[13:29] <The_Cool_DM> You walk into the back door, and see a bunch of people running around, panicking that the show is about to start.
[13:29] <The_Cool_DM> You realize that all of them are sorely underprepared.
[13:30]  * Crazy_Joe snickers.  "It looks like we might be the professionals here."
[13:30] <The_Cool_DM> This show seems to be doomed to fail.
[13:30] <The_Cool_DM> Looks like they need a hero.
[13:30] <The_Cool_DM> Time to step up.
[13:31] <Crazy_Joe> "Let's have some fun.  It's still just a fair - that's what we're here for."
[13:31] <Crazy_Joe> "Right?"
[13:32] <The_Cool_DM> They all seem to be pretty nervous.
[13:32] <The_Cool_DM> You suddenly remember that you got the owner tazed.
[13:32] <Crazy_Joe> Well, at least nothing of value was lost.
[13:33] <Crazy_Joe> "I'd better go get suited up.  Do you need anything to get ready, Addie?"
[13:33] <The_Cool_DM> And they might lose their jobs if this how fails.

[13:36] <The_Cool_DM> On your way there, you can see that the clowns seem to have a problem.
[13:36] <The_Cool_DM> This can't be good.
[13:36]  * Crazy_Joe gives Addie another shoulder-hug before setting off.  "Attagirl, Addie-girl."
[13:36] <Crazy_Joe> Now for the clowns.
[13:36]  * Crazy_Joe approaches them.  "Hi there!"
[13:37] <The_Cool_DM> You can see that one of their tires is flat. The biggest clown speaks up, with a voice as high as a whistle.
[13:38] <The_Cool_DM> "The tire's flat! We can't drive this small car without it! It will drive weird!"
[13:39] <Crazy_Joe> "Hmm..."
[13:39]  * Crazy_Joe takes a close look at the tire.

[13:40] <The_Cool_DM> You notice that the tire is only partially deflated. If the clowns were to lean towards the other side of the car while they drove, they could cover it up quite effectively from their distance.
[13:41] <Crazy_Joe> "I was going to suggest just getting a spare, but this doesn't seem too bad.  What if you all just like... lean to the other side?"
[13:42] <The_Cool_DM> They stare at you dumbfounded.
[13:42] <The_Cool_DM> I think a bit more of an explanation is required.
[13:42] <The_Cool_DM> A few grasp the concept.
[13:42] <Crazy_Joe> "You know.  If you sit on this side-"
[13:42]  * Crazy_Joe climbs in on the side with the flat tire.
[13:42] <Crazy_Joe> "-then it tilts.  But if you sit on the OTHER side-"
[13:43]  * Crazy_Joe scoots across the seat.
[13:43] <Crazy_Joe> "-it's balanced."
[13:43] <The_Cool_DM> The car creates the illusion its tire being inflated.
[13:44] <The_Cool_DM> The clowns cheer
[13:44] <The_Cool_DM> And the big one speaks up again.
[13:44] <The_Cool_DM> "Man, thank you! I swear we would have never figured that out without your help!"
[13:45]  * Crazy_Joe beams, exulting in their cheers.  "I'm happy to help!"
[13:45]  * Crazy_Joe then exits the car, salutes, and continues on his way to the fat lady's dressing room.
[13:46] <The_Cool_DM> You also see that the trapeze artists are having issues.
[13:46] <The_Cool_DM> They seem to be shouting at each other about something.
[13:47]  * Crazy_Joe decaptchalogues a spork, tucks it behind his ear like a pencil, and approaches.
[13:47] <Crazy_Joe> "Hey, Crazy Joe, what's up?"
[13:49] <The_Cool_DM> They notice the spork. That seems to have gotten their attention.
[13:50] <The_Cool_DM> "This CRETIN has hidden my other shoe!" the taller, more well-definined one cries out.
[13:50] <The_Cool_DM> "I HAVE DONE NO SUCH THING!" yelled the smaller, more skinny one.
[13:51] <Crazy_Joe> "Alright, first of all."
[13:51]  * Crazy_Joe decaptchalogues two churros, and hands them out.
[13:51] <Crazy_Joe> "Chill."
[13:51] <Crazy_Joe> "Second of all, why do you think he hid your shoe?"
[13:52] <The_Cool_DM> They both take the churros, looking at you strangely.
[13:52] <Crazy_Joe> "Don't question me, I'm Crazy Joe."
[13:52] <The_Cool_DM> "He's always been trying to ruin me!" said the skinny one.
[13:53] <The_Cool_DM> "He wants my act and I won't have it!"
[13:53] <The_Cool_DM> "Did not!" said the smaller one.
[13:53] <The_Cool_DM> Your ego is what's preventing is from working as a team!"
[13:53] <Crazy_Joe> "Hold up, hold up.  You two perform together, right?"
[13:53] <The_Cool_DM> They nod.
[13:54] <Crazy_Joe> "So why would sabotaging your own joint act be a good idea in ANY WAY?"
[13:55] <The_Cool_DM> "I... I don't know. But he'd do it!" said the tall one. He's always been jealous that I'm more skilled than him!"
[13:56] <Crazy_Joe> "So he's the only obvious suspect, right?"
[13:57] <The_Cool_DM> "Obviously!"
[13:57] <The_Cool_DM> It's quite obvious that he just lost it.
[13:58] <Crazy_Joe> "So... if it was him, he would have had to know he would be the first person to get yelled at.  Right?"

[13:58] <Crazy_Joe> "Which would have been a very very dumb idea, if he knew he would get caught immediately."

[13:59] <Crazy_Joe> "No idea!  Maybe the tooth fairy showed up and ate it.  Here."

[15:48]  * Crazy_Joe continues on his quest to go to the dressing room.

[15:48]  * Crazy_Joe flops down next to him.  "That kind of day, huh?"

[15:51] <The_Cool_DM> "He's right..."
[15:51] <The_Cool_DM> "he is much better than me."
[15:51] <The_Cool_DM> "I feel held back..."
[15:51] <The_Cool_DM> "Like, no matter what I do I'll never catch up to him..."
[15:51] <Crazy_Joe> "Held back... by the guy who loses his shoe under his own clothes?"
[15:53] <The_Cool_DM> He laughs a bit.
[15:53]  * Crazy_Joe grins.
[15:53] <The_Cool_DM> "He may not be the smartest, but he's got all of the natural skill I never had..."
[15:53]  * Crazy_Joe shrugs.  "Then be smarter than him instead."
[15:54] <The_Cool_DM> "What do you mean?"
[15:54] <Crazy_Joe> "Well..."
[15:54]  * Crazy_Joe sighs.
[15:55] <Crazy_Joe> "I've got a brother.  He's a few years older than me, and his name is Pete.  He's smarter than I am.  Way smarter.  Like, university-level smarter."

[15:55]  * Crazy_Joe grins.  "Pete never helped a trapeze artist find his shoe, or taught some clowns how to drive a damaged car."
[15:56] <Crazy_Joe> "He can be better at his things, but I'm better at mine whether he's smarter than me or not."
[15:56]  * Crazy_Joe nudges the short one.
[15:56] <Crazy_Joe> "Same goes for you."
[15:58] <The_Cool_DM> "Really? With how many problems you've been solving around here, I'd say that you're the smartest person I've ever met."
[15:58]  * Crazy_Joe chuckles, shaking his head.  "You don't know Pete."
[15:59] <The_Cool_DM> "I'd still say he's got less people sense than you do."
[16:00] <Crazy_Joe> "Like your teammate has less common sense than you do?"
[16:00] <The_Cool_DM> That joke hit home. Laughing away some of his pain, he grins at you.

[16:01] <The_Cool_DM> "I can't let him hold me back anymore."
[16:02]  * Crazy_Joe 's grin widens.  "That's more like it.  You don't have to be better than him at everything he's good at.  Be better than him at what YOU'RE good at."
