Reasoning: The threat has been made, against her very own ears, her ability to hear, to anticipate attacks and get into the flow of combat using her attuned sense of hearing. The threat was not followed up upon...

The threat to seal her power, permenantly crippling her ability to even use Hado if not undone by a more powerful mage. This threat neither was followed up upon.

Garlith, Pesto, Serori, Mycizek, these are just some of the people that wish to see Chi pay for her actions, those actions were the shattering of individuals arms, single arm, to prevent them from fighting at full capacity and to make a lesson taught in pain, she was no pacafist, she would fight for her cause.

Days of meditation, fighting, watching, observing, attuning to that nothingness had been nothing short of a miracle, even if it was only to a partial degree. She wanted to take her training to the next level, at the moment while powerful she struggled to deal with certain types of people, and even at her best and Serori seemingly at his worst, she could not overcome him in a one on one.

If she were to truely lose her sight, hearing, or anything, to be hindered by her own bodies limitations and make her unable to fight, it would be no longer acceptable. She's never been scared of such threats, but to allow it to effect her even when inflicted would mean she was the loser of it all, further development into the Chikara no hado, potentially the last few steps to climb, make her body a unyielding machine designed to fight, and further her Hadoken to it's -final- level.

She was intent to destroy the coils, put an end to it, but if she cannot even defeat the leader Serori in a one on one, said leader surrounded by friends that knew not of his devilish past, she could not do anything against it.

This was not an act of revenge, her mind still was clear, she only fought because it was the necassary thing to do to learn, grow, and punish those that have gone too far with their actions, killing was still not an option.
TLDR
- Lost to Serori in a one on one where he had fumbled in a supposed number of ways, namely dropping out of his ascended state before a deadly hadoken.

- Surrounded by people that seem to hold resentment towards Chi for her vigilanty like actions against the inhumane and those that cannot take a hint when given a warning. Her ears and power threatened to be stripped from her.

- She was prepared to advance her levels in Chikara no Hado, develop into a fighting machine that could not easily be defeated or worn down. It was time to make a statement against those that protect the Coil and it's Leader.
