  7. Until after this experience I smoked an average of 10 full cigarettes every work day, substituting smoking with snus on my day off; For this experience I consumed 900mg of dextromethorphan over the course of 48-60 hours. I was found by my cousin on the kitchen tile attempting to use the floor to absorb my body heat. I live in the southern United States and usually leave my windows open, my room was much warmer than I realized. Its not uncommom for the temperature to remain hot until 7 am the next morning here. At around 4am about two hours after taking 150mg equaling a total of 900mg my already difficult experience changed; speculating that I'd already fully metabolized most of the previous dosages I anticipated a nightcap where I would drift off. The change began with me being unable to feel the ceiling fan and my temperature being really out of whack, while I'm very familiar with the numbness, sensation of heat and initially turbulent effects seen with dextromethorphan, I knew this time around something was different. I was so intoxicated I could barely see and in my confusion could not find my phone to call 911; I never did get the shakes or anything so there was a strong sense of calm, they usually never persist past the initial phase for me anyway. My cousin then arrives back at the house, at this point I am in a stupor probably on the verge of losing consciousness; I've blacked out on lower dosages, perhaps I have/had enzyme deficiency? My cousin got me onto the floor of our shower and brought down my temperature slowly using cold-cold water, then I dressed into thin loose fitting clothing before being helped into my cousins air conditioned room where we listened to christian radio and this video called 8 hour gentle thunderstorm and drank lime-ade.

  10. Luckily I did not add cpm, benadryl, nutmeg or alcohol, I considered doing this numerous times throughout the experience. In my stupor; I vaguely remember pondering laying on the carpet but there was almost no place to lie down, I then figured the carpet would not be as effective as the air conditioned kitchen tiles for absorbing my body heat plus I could move once one spot became warm.

  12. I might be lucky to be alive, I have this new appreciation. While the memory is mostly a blur what I do remember is being exceptionally warm and fearing for my life; thankfully I can't remember the actual pain. I've made appointments to see my family physician and a physical therapist/dietician as I'm trying to focus on getting my life back on track. As much as I want to not have to touch the stuff again for any reason, throughout my life it has helped me to remember the feelings I'd lost touch with over the years namely those associated with being at home.
