what the cable guy did to fix my internet

they had access to the modem’s data loss internal logs, so they knew there was actually a problem.
he used exping, just a windows tool that does ping many times and shows a circle for good ping  and X for pad ping and packet loss
then he immediately changed the modem. but the problem persisted. then he went outdoors, and brought a cable directly from the source of the cable TV signal(I could not do this, my contract would surely be against me fiddling in that box) then he was working on the source are for a while
he said he put a strong signal booster in the box outside, and he is getting rid of my signal booster in my house… my suspicions seem to be right that it was either the modem or the signal booster….
he also said that if something was wrong at the cable TV station, then everybody in this area would be suffering from the problem…
ok, it is fixed(it seems for now at least), apparently we had a small signal booster in my house and a large signal booster outside, and the cable TV guy changed both to a single stronger signal booster… that seemed to fix the problem…  probably something went wrong with one of the signal boosters. also they let me keep the new modem, he said the other modem was an old model anyway.
