  1. Assuming that the trends from 1980 to 2010 continue for another decade, which country would you expect to have a lower standard of living in 2020 than in 1970?
  2. This line graph compares per capita G D P (in 1990 international dollars) over the years 1950 to 2010 for Poland, Turkey, Mexico, India, Nicaragua, and Somalia. Poland, Turkey, and Mexico all experience significant growth, from about 2000 dollars in 1950 to at least 8000 in 2010, with growth being slowed in the mid-1980s to mid-1990s. The G D P of India increases from about 600 dollars in 1950 to about 3000 dollars in 2010. The G D P of Nicaragua grows from about 1500 dollars in 1950 to a peak of about 3200 dollars in 1977, then declines, and is about 1700 dollars in 2010. The G D P of Somalia was just over 1000 dollars in 1950 and fluctuates around 1000 dollars, ending just below 1000 in 2010.
