ACSC Interview Log #5617

Two people sit at a table, one appears to be a rather grizzled old veteran type with a scar over his right eye who's...eyes betray a man who's seen things and done things no normal man has ever seen or done, he has a confident type of swagger about him and seems to be staring down the...around 16 year old young man sitting across from him, he's wearing thick and tattered clothing and has the eyes of someone who hasn't slept well in a long time, surprisingly despite his condition he appears to have no scars at all and seems...rather calm despite his situation.

"So...after reading your file I have to say Mr..."

"Seven, my name is Seven."

"Right, right, your file says that one of our military units found you facing off against D-Anomaly R4K3 with only a shotgun and a knife...and you were somehow, and i quote the commander of the unit, "Winning against that unholy son of a bitch" "

"Well, I've always been lucky."

"Mr. Seven, i'm going to be frank with you. You're either the luckiest bastard alive or someone with a death wish, according to the report the members of the unit said it was as if R4K3's slashes were veering off course at the last moment and as if every shot you took somehow managed to land despite R4K3's known physical capabilities."

"Again, always been lucky like that i guess."

"I don't think luck has anything to do with it kid, my theory is that you're some kind of anomaly yourself yet what i don't understand is how you're still alive, most anomalies don't even get their powers until they're dead or in a host. If the report you gave is to be believed as well, you've had these powers since you were born."

"Yeah I know, I'm the one who wrote the report for you guys."

"As well as that, you claim that these anomalies seem to be attracted to you which has caused you to just drift around constantly, which is why our unit found you in the middle of bumfuck nowhere fighting against R4K3. You're damn lucky you're even alive if this has been going on for as long as you've said it has."

"Yeah i've been told that a lot by people i've met who have dealt with these things, after a while you just kind of get used to it and learn how to defend yourself against these creatures...anomalies you called them?"

"Mmmhmm, well enough going back and forth! My organization is willing to make you a proposal, the higher-ups are...interested in your condition and abilities. We'd be willing to give you a safe place to live as well as protection against these anomalies, in return we'd like you to join the military branch of our organization and go through tests with our science division as well."

"You really think you'll be able to protect me from these things?"

"We wouldn't have this facility if we couldn't defend ourselves against anomalies."

"You'll give me a home, food, water?"

"Everything basic you need to survive."

"What about videogames and stuff like that?"

"You'll have to file a formal request with our acquisitions division, but so long as you comply we are willing to provide you with privileges and luxuries."

"Well, i'm sold. If all i have to do is join your military and do a few tests now and again in exchange for an actual home i'm more than ready to comply."

"Excellent, welcome to the ACSC Mr. Seven, just head through the door here and your orientation will get started."

Seven stands up and heads through the door with a...rather rare smile on his face. The veteran would take out a cigarette as a scientist from the other side of the glass window in the room called him out for smoking. The veteran would begin to speak "Sucks that it ends up being a kid, but we'll take what we can get, after all more and more people like him have been appearing and we need to know why." A scientist pipes up. "Well, we'll be sure to give him a full examination and test his powers when the time comes, after all he is a rare specimen." The veteran shoots a glare through the window. "He's a person, not a specimen but i know that my word doesn't mean much to you eggheads, i'm heading out to oversee his accommodations." The veteran leaves the room and afterwards the lights go out, just another day in the ACSC.
