A Small Being

This is the story after the end term exams have ended, and it happened a few days before the results were published.
After school, I planned to drop by to the convenience store and just return to the dormitory after that.
I saw a familiar figure on the way heading to the convenience store. It was Ichinose of 1ST grade B-Class.
There were 2 other girls’ figures who should also be B-Class’ students, and I could catch a glimpse of Ichinose among them who seemed to be very happily chatted and laughed.
Their pace slowed down because of their chats, and it was very easy if I wanted to overtake and passed over them. However, caught up with them and called her out are the kind of things that I couldn’t do.
It’s not a problem if it’s only Ichinose, but I completely never had any conversation with the 2 other girls.
Although simply overtook them perhaps it will be a bit leisure, don’t mention other students for the moment, but Ichinose should possibly called out to me.
Let’s walk back home slowly. I also have no plan after going back anyway. After that, I will proceed to walk on the road that led to the convenience store.
In a moment a small quick short steps sound arrived behind me, and a girl passed through my side a few moments later, went ahead and called out to Ichinose.
Hearing that voice, the 3 girls turned around. Of course, Ichinose finally noticed me.
However, she probably realized my awkward expression, and then she only smiled slightly and didn’t call out to me. She is worthy of considerate honors student.
After meeting up with the belated friend, Ichinose and co. restarted their conversation again as if nothing had happened.
“Alright…… I have arrived at the convenience store.”
I stared at Ichinose and co.’ figures for a moment, and I parted with them at the convenience store. After that, I bought the necessary things then I went outside.
Although it was only lasted for 2-3 minutes, but Ichinose and co’s figures have vanished from sight.
Let’s go back. I thought so, and then once again walked toward the dormitory.

“Here, here, look over here, Ayanokōji-kun.”
I have heard such voice.
I looked toward the direction she was waving, and only saw Ichinose was slightly straying between the road’s street trees.
“What are you doing in such place?”
“You should understand when you come over here.”
It’s a bit like tempting me, and her face revealed an expression just like mischief child.
Because she waved at me, so I walked over there.
But at first glance, there was nothing unusual around Ichinose.
“What’s wrong?”

“There’s something I wanted to talk to Ayanokōji-kun.”

It seemed she has seen through my expression just now. I should say no wonder she is Ichinose.

Ichinose laughed and said.
“That’s, the end term exams, how do you feel?”
“Not bad. Probably all the classmates in the whole classes have no problem with it.”
“Really, that’s very good. The first school year will also be over soon, it’s quite terrible if someone dropped out, right?”
“B-Class students don’t need to worry, you guys always at top rank in written exams.”
“Of course our class is also important, but other classes are the same too.”
Even the competition rivals, she also doesn’t wish anyone to drop out. Ichinose replied like that.
Generally speaking, I think that’s plausible only but wrong, that’s all. There’s only benefit to our own class if the rivals are reduced.
However, only Ichinose is an exception. She sincerely wishes no one have to be dropped out of school.
This is a kind of idealistic thinking. However, she was also by no means saying a sweet talk.
If a kind of exam emerged that someone in B-Class or in other classes has to drop out of school, without hesitation Ichinose will put priority on B-Class.
Although she doesn’t want anyone to drop out of school, but protecting her classmates is her top priority matter, she has such position.

To this kind of situation where a man and a woman were talking in low voice under the shades of the trees, whoever doesn’t feel awkward instead is a bit unbelievable.

“Which junior high school did you attend?”
Although I was being asked one question after another by her, however, I couldn’t answer them.
“That’s a secret.”
“Ah, could it be that I have asked unnecessary things? Sorry if I make you unhappy.”
Perhaps she thought that I was the kind of student who has the past being ill-treated and didn’t go to school, Ichinose immediately apologized to me.
“It’s not something serious. However, actually I have always been told by my classmates not to tell unnecessary things.”
“I see. Even the school we graduated from will also disclose extra information, that kind of circumstances?”
Although Ichinose looks like she couldn’t understand, however, it seemed she carefully concluded those words of mine.
It’s really great that this school is divided into classes in competition system with each other.

For the moment I was being complimented, this is the part where I should be happy, right.
“Next time, can I go to hang out in Ayanokōji-kun’s room?”

She threw out unexpected words to me, I’m slightly felt nervous.
“What kind of room it is. Then we have made an agreement.”
I don’t know in which corner of the street trees that I made that kind of appointment with Ichinose.
