  1. # How to install Jigdo on ArchLinux and download Debian
  2. # (Actually, I've done it on Manjaro, but it should also work in ArchBang and Arch distros)
  3. # If you would like to know what is Jigdo, in a short, it is one of the best ways to
  4. # fastly obtain large files (like ISO copies of CDs or DVDs), with a sort of delta support
  5. # (if the file slightly changed, it will just download the difference, but not the whole
  6. # file again). Also jigdo provides mirror support, and auto checksumming.
  7.
  8. sudo pacman -S binutils gcc yaourt patch fakeroot make
  9. yaourt -A jigdo
  10.
  11. # After installing packages and running yaourt you should also
  12. # choose 1, press n (not editing packagebuild file), press enter to continue.
  13. # After successful compilation, press Y twice to install the jigdo.
  14.
  15. # You can choose release that you like here: http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/
  16. # Anyways, after this operation you have to have .jigdo file on your PC somewhere.
  17. # Also, you have to download the template.
  18.
  19. wget http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/7.3.0/amd64/jigdo-cd/debian-7.3.0-amd64-xfce-CD-1.jigdo
  20. wget http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/7.3.0/amd64/jigdo-cd/debian-7.3.0-amd64-xfce-CD-1.template
  21.
  22. # Finally, let's download debian with jigdo!
  23.
  24. jigdo-lite ./debian-7.3.0-amd64-xfce-CD-1.jigdo
  25.
  26. # The program will ask you to provide directory with previous files, if you don't have it,
  27. # just press enter. After, you will have to enter acronym of your country (ru for russia,
  28. # us for america, etc.) and choose one mirror that you believe is fast or near you.
  29. # Then, copy mirror URL to the program prompt. Lastly, program will ask you to choose
  30. # "non-us" mirror. Do the same procdure again (but do NOT paste the url from previous step).
  31.
  32. # That's it! Jigdo should now start downloading debian ISO to the directory you've runned it from.
  33.
  34. # Best regards!
  35. # Yours, SecurityXIII
