  1.
  2. CAS 101-27 Eisenhart course wiki
  3.
  4. WHO ARE YOU???
  5.
  6. Identity Project --due Dec. 5
  7.
  8.
  9. Over the course of the semester, we have examined different approaches to human identity. For this assignment, you should think about your identity. Who are you and why are you here in college at UMass Dartmouth?
  10.
  11. On the page under your name (links on the left), write 4-6 paragraphs which represent your UMD identity. I'm looking for a discussion, description, or narration of significant factors about who you are and what you want in your time here. Keep two things in mind: 1) others can see your wiki, so make it publicly appropriate; 2) I'm primarily interested in how you are becoming a member of your discipline and community, but write for me and your classmates, not like you're writing an academic paper for someone you don't know. Your piece must include references to the 3 campus events you attended (so I can give you credit for attending them) and some mention of how you are identifying with your home discipline in the sciences, social sciences, or humanities thus far in your first term. Feel free to use text you've written for our discussions and quizzes as part of your discussion here.
  12.
  13. Here's how you're graded:
  14.
  15. Attendance at on-campus events (3@ 3% each = 9% of grade)
  16. Identity wiki page (10% of grade)
  17. Commentary on Peers’ Projects (4% of grade)
  18.
  19.
  20. In addition, your wiki will be assessed on the spelling, grammar and clarity of your written expression.
  21.
  22. Peer Commentary due Dec. 9:
  23. Finally, a portion of your grade for this project will be a reflection on your classmates’ wikis. During the week after the wiki is due, take some time to review the wikis your classmates have posted. In the wiki peer commentary discussion board, in our myCourses site, please post a paragraph discussing what you have learned from your classmates’ wikis. How is their identity different from or similar to yours? What sorts of issues did they raise that you had not thought about? Cite specific examples from your classmates’ wikis in your posting, which should be at least one fully-developed paragraph. Remember, your wiki peer commentary is posted in your CAS 101 myCourses site, not in the wiki itself. You should not write in your classmates' wiki pages!
