  1. I just had a very nasty experience at The London Hotel, Llandudno. I and my partner (we're a gay couple) were having a meal at the London today (8.8.10) for our 8th anniversary (and 1st wedding anniversary). The whole time, a young lady behind the bar was giving us odd/dirty looks.

  3. After we'd finished the meal and paid, I thanked the girl for the meal and suggested that she inform whoever is in charge of the music that I didn't think it suited the venue, as it was very loud schmaltzy 1950's American music in a very English style pub. This girl then laid into me about how other customers like it, and how maybe it's me and my "type" that don't suit the venue and then "BYE!" loudly at me. I told her that I didn't mean to offend, I just meant that as it was our anniversary, hearing "lonesome tonight" was a bit glum, she said that she didn't care about my "gay anniversary", and again added "BYE!". I said that I found her rude, and she snapped back telling me I was rude for "moaning about the music".

  5. I asked for her name. She refused. So I asked for the manager, she said "you're looking at her" with a smarmy smile. I asked who was in charge of her and she said that her mum and dad are the owners and so complaining to them would be "a waste of time". She again refused to give her name despite admitting to being the daughter of the owners.

  7. I told her that I felt she'd spoiled our visit as we'd had a nice time so far, she said that "you spoiled your own visit by opening your big gob, and that's not all that's big on you" (which is a reference to me being a fat guy), I asked what she meant and if I should note that down. She then said I was "attacking her" and she would call the police. This was achieving nothing, so I left.

  9. I most sincerely hope you deal with this unpleasant woman and her nasty demeanour and homophobic attitude (especially as the pub's site claims to be 'gay friendly').
  10.
  11. I will NEVER visit this venue again, and will actively discourage everyone I know from ever trying it. I hope this one pub does not represent the Marston's Pub Company's other venues.
  12.
  13. I hope for a reply.
