- >portals open
- >MGs come through
- >anons playing ambassadors explain that this is a world without monsters and without magic
- >monster girls are convinced that there is magic in this world and point to _________
- What in the real world would surprising or confusing enough for monster girls to assume it’s magic besides phones/computers?
- Jesus, just introduce chesires to fidget spinners.
- Aside from that... they could probably be easily convinced a lava lamp to actually contain lava
- Don't introeuce cheshires to the internet period, or ogres to smashmouth.
- Aircraft?
- The modern airport is the easiest thing to put in a work of fiction to say "modern day"
- >the first harpy out of the portal marries a pilot
- >”I fly for a living”
- >’So do I! Maybe I could fly along side you? Teeheehee~”
- >”Don’t be so sure.”
- >’I’ve seen those gliders you humans play with. I can take you.”
- >Anon flys military supersonic jets
- >poor little birb didn’t know what hit her
- Could a harpy even fly in a fighter jet? I have a feeling the G forces wouldn't be too good for her hollow bones.
- How do Basilisks go through security? Do they have to shut their eyes the entire time until they get their masks back?
- I imagine with great difficulty. Just imagine them filling out the form
- >EYE COLOR: (Circle One)
- That phrase alone could make them uncomfortable and maybe even start sweating and getting fidgety
- I like to headcanon that magically imbued glasses work as well as masks. In that case they'd probably be loaned some metal-free goggles while they slip through. Or, more accurately, while they're being patted down
- How does a mummy go through security? or automatons?
- >How does a mummy go through security?
- The normal way. Everyone's in for a weird time if the trigger a deeper search though
- >or automatons?
- Well, there'd be no danger in using standard xray machines on them. Problem is, they seem like they'd have weapons built in so in all likelihood they either couldn't fly or they'd need to be inspected to insure they've been "safe" which may not be possible if she's got bladed weapons. Basically, she'd better learn to like the train
- >Cursed Sword raging after she finds out she's on the dangerous goods list
- Sperm Banks
- >Goes along sniffing the stores until she pulls one that catches her interest
- >”Ah yes! A 1980 vintage male. Strong notes of dedication, lust, and a touch of naievity. I’ll take him!”
- >’Madam that’s not how this facility works. If I give you his name, will you please leave?’
- >”Oh fine. I got enough of his scent to track him down anyway.”
- >Across the street at the hospital blood bank a similar scenario is playing out with a vampire and a vamp mosquito clamoring over the bags
- Perfume, for example. The type that actually imitates human hormones. Movies. Pictures. Neurochemistry. Any kind of surgery whatsoever. Theoretical physics and other deep sciences
- >Perfume
- Imagine taking a Ghandarva to a department store.
- >”Wow. You have scent magic here too!”
- >Something similar to https://youtube.com/watch?v=UEzlm2pdgac happens
- >”Are all humans so aggressive with heir magic?”
- imagine a portal succubus or maybe a real world Alp exploring the world of scents and varieties available to them in our world.
- >”Anon look at all the choices! They all smell so good! Which do you like me in”
- >”We’re going to spend a lot of time close to each other, taking deep breaths, taking in each other’s scent, among other things. I want to make sure you enjoy being close to me and I please your every sense.”
- >”I-I just like pine, I guess.”
- >Dryad a few feet over shoots you an odd look
- Electric refrigerators, cars, TV. There are plenty of simple things they're probably amazed you don't need to be a mage to use/operate
- I’d like to see what a car designed for a lamia or some other non-biped would look like. Maybe two opposed C curves shaped sections for the pedals so pushing the tail to the right accelerates and pushing to the left breaks?
- You can already drive a normal (automatic) car entirely with your hands after a few mods, that's existing tech. The harder part would be fitting the girl in (also not hard for lamias) And securing them. Also, Harpies. How does that work?
- How would Ice Queens/Yuki-Onna react to air conditioners compared to a Yeti reacting to an air conditioner?
- They'd probably think it was sad and weak. The former two are queens of the cold and the latter wouldn't mind either way unless it's hot where they are in the summer. You want to see them react, introduce them to a space heater or a good whole house heating system. Maybe an electric blanket
- Electric stoves or microwaves too.
- >How can you cook food without fire?
- >Microwaves
- That's actually a really good one. You've got a light, a humming noise, a bell, and then food so hot you can burn yourself on it and the interior isn't even that hot and this process took all of two minutes while being performed by a child. Sure the result is rubbery, but holy fuck!
- Kikis are convinced microwaves are black magic.
- For some reason, Hakutakus seem like they’d make good chefs to me.
- >”I must learn all about this micro wave.”
- >”That’s why I’ve gathered a small amount of every food material in this room to test how it reacts and share my findings.”
- >An hour and multiple near fires later she tells her husband what she did today
- >”My favorites include the effects produced by the marshmallow, the split grape, and the potato.”
- >A Hakutaku wearing a toque on top of her mortarboard
