Wish Until Something Happens

Whenever I wish for something to happen, I always get really specific about my wishes. I’ve seen too many cartoons about genies and mummy hands that grant backhanded wishes to not be on my guard about that shit. I’ll say things in my head like, “I wish I weighed 50 lbs less,” and then quickly tack on, “without losing one of my legs.” Or, “I wish I had infinite money,” possible negative consequences pop in my head so I have to clarify a few things, “the logic behind my infinite money somehow is understood by people and nobody is bewildered or convinced that I’m a bank robber. Nobody tries to burn me for being a warlock. I don’t become miserly and out of touch.”

Rewrite 3/17: I hope I don't come across a genie. I'm just not very specific when giving instructions and I just know I would fuck myself over. I'd say something like, "I wish to lose 50 lbs" and then poof my arms are gone.
