  1. Hey Everyone, and welcome to a new Mini Tutorial.
  2.
  3. today will show you everything around the Copy and Paste Code, how it functions, how to utilize it and how to solve paste errors in your XIM Config.
  4. But first off, there are two types of Copy and Paste Codes. The first one allows you paste, or copy, a whole config. It can be found in the first menu of your XIM Config, when expanding the advanced settings. By pressing the copy button you can extract your own config code, and the paste option will allow you to insert a config from a code that you already copied. It’s a clever way to example backup your configs by pressing the copy button, and then save the code in a text document. Here you can see an example of how such a config code looks like. At the top you can always find the XIM device that the config belongs to, as well as the name of the XIM config.
  5. Now when you want to copy the code you have to make sure to copy everything, which includes the arrows as well as the brackets. Once you have copied the code you can go back to your XIM Manager and press the paste button. Your XIM will then adjust your config values to match the ones from the config code. As you can see this will also include the config name.
  6.
  7. Now there is also a second Copy and Paste Code, the so-called Ballistic Code. You can find it by swiping into your HIP or ADS Config, and after that, expand the curve generator. At the bottom you now find the copy and paste feature. These two buttons work in the same way as the ones from the config code. The difference however is that a ballistic code can not be used as a config code, and config code can also not be used in the curve generator. So always make sure you have the correct code or else you might get a pasting problem.
  8. Here you can see an example of a ballistic code. Just like before you have to copy the whole code.
  9. Also pay attention to the beginning of the code, includes the word “ballistic”. That way you can find out what kind of code you are trying to copy right now.
  10.
  11. Now let’s take a look at how you can solve pasting errors. I will now copy only a fraction of the ballistic code. When I go back to my XIM Manager and press the paste button, it will show me an error message.
  12. So always check first if you copied the whole code. But there can also be a second reason for why a copy and paste code it won’t work. Exit your XIM Config and click on the options menu in the top right corner of your XIM Manager. In the Info area you can now find your XIM Firmware and Manager Version. The copy and paste code format has changed a few times in the past, so if the creator of the code has used a different Firmware, or Manager version, then the code may not work for you. In that case either update, or downgrade to the same version that has been used to create the code. The code should then work without any problems.
