  1.
  2. Although the controversy between inherited genes or the environment influences and effects development of personality is still questioned to date, my opinion states otherwise. Frankenstein’s character was shaped more by his experiences of other people and not by the fact he’s intrinsically a monstrous freak of nature. In today’s society, teens are regularly influenced by other negative teens; this environment forces the teen to develop a corrupted behavior and or lifestyle.
  3. Way before the creature had made contact with society his actions resembled a typical animal living in the woods. Theoretically he was free from all evil of society. In essence his main goal was gaining knowledge on how to act human. “I am alone and miserable; man will not associate with me; but one as deformed and horrible as myself would not deny herself to me. My companion must be of the same species and have the same defects. This being you must create” ( ). This is after the death of Victor’s little brother, William, the monster explains his pain of wanting a companion because all of mankind will not correspond well with him. We explored the soft side of the monster when he had the conversation with the old blind man. The legitimate logic of the creature being furious with Victor is because the creature does not know his place in society. This results in the monster being frustrated between him and lets out the angry side which puts fear into all mankind.
  4. Mary Shelley’s opinion was not just an ordinary opinion, but rather an agreement. Her opinion was based off of Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s theory. Rousseau was an 18th-century philosopher who’s popular on the theory of natural human; which primarily means naturally a human is born free and has a positive mindset unless that human is influenced by negativity in which can or will change the behavior of the human.
  5. In the book Frankenstein, Victor’s father was always very supportive of his son. No matter what goal he chose to pursue he was there. “It was the secrets of heaven and earth that I desired to learn” ( ). Way before Victor had even thought of building such creature he had the desire to learn. This is something nurture cannot coincide with, which is why people spend their lifetime just to pursue what they aspire. Most of the time people know they have the talent to do certain activities but because of their surroundings they prefer to hide their expertise and follow what everyone else does.
  6. Just by reading the book most readers tend to know Victor by the man who built this ugly creature and ended up dying because of his battle between his own creation, though what people do forget is Victor’s true intentions. What Victor wanted to accomplish was impractical and foreign. “They penetrate into the recesses of nature and show how she works in her hiding-places” ( ). Victor’s hope was to become godlike or free from all limitations. Sadly his goal failed to continue since the creature was over his shoulders threatening Victor with death.
  7. In conclusion the creature, or monster, was shaped more by his exposure to society and his involvement of mankind than him actually being hideous and fearful.
