>The fell creature sat languidly upon her throne of darkness, her leather bikini glowing with infernal sigils

<"I see you've defeated my minions. I didn't expect them to stop you, but I thought they would slow you down, at least."

>She crossed her legs and rested her cheek in her palm with a smile.

<"The reputation of the Silver Branch knights is well deserved."

>"Queen of Demons, I'm here to bring an end to your tyranny and make you face JUSTICE for your crimes."

>The queen poured herself a glass of wine as she considered his words

<"Oh? And what might those be?"

>"You know all too well what you did to the people of this valley."

<"You mean the contracts? I didn't force them to sign, nor did I lie to them."

>The knight glared at the demon, and his armor started to shimmer with a soft white light

>"No, you didn't. Instead, you used half-truths and lies of omission to manipulate them. You preyed upon the desperate and the downtrodden."

<"It's not my fault that some were careless in their dealings and suffered buyers remorse. Many dealt with me fairly and did not come to grief."

<"The farmers have had a bumper crop this season and not single babe has died. Truly, my presence has done more good than…"

>The knight snarled, his blade erupted into white flames, and the shimmering light of his armor grew brighter

>"But at what cost?"

>Silence reigned as the flames and lights danced, but they soon dimmed as the knight regained his composure

>"Enough of this, submit yourself to me and you will not be harmed. If you release your hold on the valley and devote yourself to Him, I'm certain you'll be redeemed.

>She tilted her head and stared at him intently

<"…You're sure that I'm worthy of salvation?"

>The knight returned her gaze, sheathed his sword, and offered his hand to her.

>"If you're truly repentant, it's never too late"

>The demon queen considered his hand for a long moment. Her hand hesitantly reached for his, but suddenly pulled back and picked up the wine glass

<"Counteroffer, I'll consider all current debts to be paid in full, make amends for any harm I've caused in the valley, and do my best to limit harm in my future dealings."

>"… That is quite generous, but what do you want for it?"

<"Oh, I just want one thing."

>She emptied her glass with sensuous grace, before suddenly casting it aside and pointing at the knight

>The knight rocked back on his feet, utterly stunned

>He tried to speak, but his lips just moved silently

>The demon queen's gaze demanded an answer

>Just as he found his voice, he was interrupted by a ringing at his hip

>The demon queen groaned and flopped onto the throne

<"And it was just getting good! If that's Frank again, I'm going to curse his toenails off."

>The knight pulled out the ringing magical artifact, pressed a rune on it and put it to his ear

>"Oh, hey Marie, everything okay?

>The artifact emitted an indistinct noise.

>"What did she forget?"

>….

>"Yeah, she's going struggle falling asleep without'em. I'll swing by to drop 'em off in a bit. See ya later, bye"

>As the knight put away the artifact, the demon queen wrapped her arms around his shoulders and pressed herself into his back

<"Let me guess, Sarah forgot Sir Huggins."

>"Nightlight too."

>She grumbled into his shoulder

>"We have a few hours before she has to go bed if you want to…"

<"No, no, let's just deal with it now."

>And so, the Knight of the Silver Branch and the Demon Queen put aside their quarrel to escort Sir Huggins the cuddly and his magic lamp to join Princess Sarah's retinue

>After receiving the princess's warmest cuddles, the party set off once more in the knight's iron carriage

>"Did you want to give it another try when we get home?

<"No, not tonight. With the way my lucks going, someones going to barge in the moment I break another wine glass."

>The knight studied the dejected demon queen for a moment before nodding to himself

>"Tell you what, tonight we'll get naked on the couch, get you some ice cream, put on a movie, and see where that goes."

>"In the morning, we'll cancel our plans with Frank and Maggie, give you some TLC from horns to feet, and we'll play out whatever scenes you want for the entire weekend."

<"Even that..?"

>"Even that one, although I don't think we have enough rope for it."

>The demon queen took the knights hand in hers and gave it a squeeze
