  1. When the forces of Life itself make plans, not everything goes right... No one knows this better than Master of Fate Himself. There are many things to consider when planning things way in advance like he was. Fate looked over into the endless worlds sprawled out before him, and frowned; someone was consolidating their resources to rise in power and end The Game. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but this one being had nothing but horrible intentions for all of existence - they didn't care what would happen to the multiverse and all of its inhabitants. The Game didn't have very many rules, but one wishing to attain victory for personal gain and potentially destroy all of life ever in the process is automatically disqualified, and subject to punishment in any manner so wished by either participants of The Game, or the Judges themselves.
  2.
  3. Judges presiding over The Game includes any and all Elder Gods, Primordials, the Forces of Life, and the higher-ups residing in Yggdrasil. Those under employment of Yggdrasil may not participate in The Game, whether or not their employment is ongoing. The reasoning behind this is because their knowledge could prove too advantageous when compared to those that are also participating. Participants of The Game know that there is something greater in life than attaining fame and fortune, and put everything they have in order to achieve great power. They believe that they can create a better future for all of existence, and work towards ending The Game.
  4.
  5. Not very many know what would actually constitute ending The Game, but there is a rumor floating around different worlds, that one has to have enough power to challenge all of the Forces of Life and win. Others believe that one must find a way into their realm and proclaim that they know what is best for all of Life. Fate smiled, for he knew the correct way to end The Game; he'd only shared how to do so with a very select few individuals, ones he knew he could trust to not spill the truth. There was one of such individuals in each world, watching over its inhabitants to make sure that things stayed at least somewhat fair. They were to not interfere with the usual goings on of the world they were in, just to silently observe and make certain that things went smoothly.

  7. When Fate looked over to one of the worlds that didn't seem to have a participant, he noticed something odd - an inhabitant of an Equestria had just landed there. That shouldn't have happened, an Equestrian shouldn't ever be anywhere near a world of Humans, let alone one without any magic whatsoever! Seconds later, Fate had an idea... he wound the clock back a few moments, and guided the Equestrian, Twilight, to an area near where a family was about to conceive. As he thought about it more, he found the perfect way to deal with this one individual whom wished to destroy Everything, and get some entertainment out of it. He looked over to who was supposed to be born at that home, and scoffed.

  9. "This future person won't be able to handle the trying times that they are to go through later, I must make adjustments." And so, Fate set to work on the person. First, he cut their strings - this person needn't be tied down to a meager life. Next, he changed the archetype of their very soul. Instead of being fully Human, this one person was to be part Dragon, so as to allow them to wield magic. Sure it could be considered "cheaty," but it wasn't like Fate could make a major change and just flat out give them magic - the others wouldn't approve of such scale-tipping. The last thing Fate did, was check in with the resident Overseer.

  12. Jason walked through the halls of his security firm, tired from all the meetings he had attended earlier. Just as he rounded the corner and entered his office, a phone rang. This gave Jason pause, as he had specifically ordered that no phones were allowed anywhere near his office. It rang again, and this time Jason noted that it sounded like it had received a text message. Hesitantly, he walked over to his desk and opened the drawer on the right side; inside was a phone, but it seemed odd. It didn't have any buttons on the front of it, aside from a rectangular looking one right near the bottom end of the phone. When he picked it up, Jason felt something on the bottom of the phone. Turning it over, Jason saw that it was a post-it stuck to the back of the phone. "Place thumb on button below the screen to turn on. Device is locked to your thumbprint only. Wall plug and cable included."
  13.
  14. Without much else to look forward to for a few hours, Jason obliged the note left for him and turned on the phone's screen. Within seconds, he somehow knew how to work the phone inside and out. "Well, looks like this second job comes with some perks now. Though it looks like my long ass life is about to get quite a bit busier in the near future. Well, guess I've got nothing else better to do than to check out what that message is."
  15.
  16. With newfound expertise, Jason swiped through the apps list and brought up the messages app. He idly wondered why it wasn't on the front screen, but then figured that his unusual friend/employer wanted him to see all that was installed on the phone.
  17.
  18. "I know it's set to release 16 years from now, but think of this as a token of appreciation, especially for what you'll be dealing with soon enough. Keep an eye on West Virginia, this world finally has a participant. Your friend, T."
