Argentis' Backstory.

Argentis Aurum, Argentis at birth, was born to a Blue Dragon mother, and a Human Male worthy of her affections. For much of his child and teenage life he thought that his mother was the Human half of his half-blood parentage. He would learn however that she could polymorph, staying in her Human form when she was around Argentis. Her name was Ireli, and though she was what most of the mortal world would call a monster and cruel, she was still his mother. Though he asked, Ireli never told Argentis much about his father, or how he died. 36 years passed, Ireli and Argentis living out their lives, both noticing that even though the Human blood was strong, he still was aging slower than normal, at about a half year to every year. One day Ireli told Argentis that she had somewhere she needed to be and told him to hold down the house for a while. He listened to her as instructed. One night Argentis woke to a terrible windstorm outside, trees thrashing about, lightning in the sky, and then he saw a light. A massive gout of lightning shot from the clouds and obliterated the small home that he has known his whole life, knocking the young half-man unconscious. When he awoke it was a half-day later, and he was starving, almost ravenous. He set off into the mountain to find an animal, and to feed. He made a kill, took it back to the wreckage of his old home, and cooked it in what remained of the hearth. He did this for 5 years. Waiting for Ireli to come home. On the 5th year, a new urge arose. His Draconic greed began to show. Soon animal pelts from great bears he slew turned into trinkets he had taken from passing caravans he ravaged, or gleaming blades, gems and jewelry taken from corpses of mercenaries sent to kill him by the local lordship. With each fight he grew stronger, more experienced, more primal, and into more of a threat. Soon challengers stopped coming altogether. Yet one day a shadow darkened his door as he slept. An older, gentlemanly man named Aurum, who reveals he was a friend of his father's. (Also a Gold Dragon in disguise.) Argentis arrogantly stands to the challenge, expecting a one sided fight. Aurum, with only a longsword, swiftly overpowers Argentis on a scale he hasn’t experienced before. Aurum incapacitates him then whisks him away to his own reclusive hideout. It is there that Aurum gives him what Argentis learns is true parentage. While Ireli taught him to survive, to exist as only someone with the blood of a dragon can, there was a warmth missing. One that Aurum exuded excessively. He was an embodiment of good, and tried to teach Argentis that he should use his strength for others like Clovis Hale, Argentis' father, did. The elder dragon had earned his respect so Argentis studied under his philosophies and combat techniques as well as he could, earning tales about his father as a reward. Another 5 years passed. Aurum had been sent on an excursion by the government, and about a month passed since Argentis had heard any news from the old man, so he decided to seek him out since he wasn't finished learning of his ways, or his parents. He would search for information on his mother as well, and her whereabouts. (Other info on Clovis & Ireli to be added later, but I have an acceptable amount of info on them both.)
