3. Signo Tenebris is the spell to create a dark mark on the skin of a follower. It is used by dark lords to permanently emblaze their symbol of servitude and devotion to the cause.
4.
5. While they take the appearance of tattoos, and become faded over time; they can be re-activated to life and color by simply focusing one's magical energy into with with their wand. Unlike Fabrica Ardor, which animates tattoos for use in combat, this animation only makes the dark mark move on the skin subtly.
6.
7. However, what separates dark marks from tattoos is that they can be used to summon the dark lord that gifted the mark to the follower. By simply focusing one's magical energy into their dark mark, they can opt to summon the dark lord to their location. Similarly, dark marks react to the dark lord; if a dark lord returns to the world, or is nearby, or summons their followers with Morsmordre; the dark marks on their followers skin will sting and animate.
[c]Sonopoena[c]Fair Curse

The Drink of Despair

45.
46. Ingredients:
47.
48. Initial Brew:
49. Water - 5L
50.
51. Knotgrass - Three fully bloomed flowers
52.
53. Salvia Divinorum [The Diviner's Sage] - Four leaves
54.
55. Wolfberry - 10g dried
56.
57. Runespoor Eggs - Two eggs, aged for ten years
58.
59. Rebirth Process:
60. Bone of the Father
61.
62. Flesh of the Servant
63.
64. Blood of the Foe
65.
66. Bone of the father, unknowingly given, you will renew your son.
67. Flesh of the servant, willingly sacrificed, you will revive your master.
68. Blood of the enemy, forcibly taken, you will resurrect your foe.
69.
70.
71. The Rebirth potion, as stated in the prior known incantation, is the brew used by Lord Voldemort's servant, Peter Pettigrew, to turn the rudimentary form into a living being. As assumed, one must have knowledge of the rudimentary body and the required potion.
72. The consequence of this brew falls on the servant; flesh must be permanently removed in order to provide the catalyst for the potion, and cannot be regrown. Once created, the rudimentary body is granted a new life, as though born in a new form similar to that of when they passed.
73.
74. Water acts as the base for this potion; a high quantity is required to fully submerge the rudimentary body. Further, the water within the cauldron will allow for water necessary to form the human body. The other ingredients used to create the base are merely to provide the spiritual connection between the non-corporeal rudimentary form and the corporeal form desired. The first of these ingredients is the diviner's sage. This ingredient, though potentially outlawed in many countries by the time this potion will be used, opens up the mental capacity of the rudimentary body. It initiates a mental link between the soul and the body. To strengthen the connection, runespoor eggs are added. This is a common artefact held by Diviners, and may easily be acquired by visiting an apothecary or an area dominated by gypsies.
75.
76. To provide the structural support necessary to form a fully functioning human body, an iron cauldron is desired. The iron deposits within the cauldron will provide that necessary for the vasculature to flourish. Further, wolfberry acts as a cleansing agent for the blood, so that the corporeal form may be in good health. A last herb, knotgrass, is added to bind all the ingredients together tightly. Neglecting to add a binding agent would cause limbs to become frail, or for limbs to not form properly.
77.
78. Ingredient Preperation:
79. All ingredients should be prepared and/or harvested through the use of a boline. This boline must be used throughout the entire process, including the sacrifice of flesh from the servant.
80.
81. Preparation:
82. Step One: Place the rudimentary body within the iron cauldron.
83.
84. Step Two: Fill the cauldron with the 5L of water. Ensure that the body is fully submerged within the cauldron before exposing it to a medium flame. The water should be hot, though not boiling. If it boils, remove the body immediately and begin once more.
85.
86. Step Three: Place the dried wolfberries within a mortar. Crush the berries along the edge of the mortar with the boline, ensuring that the seed are crushed when smearing the berries along the edges. Scrape the contents of the mortar clean with the curved end of the boline, and place the contents into the cauldron.
87.
88. Step Four: Allow for the contents to stew for three minutes, before adjusting the flame to a lower one. The temperature at this point should only be enough to keep the liquid warm. Once it has reached a luke-warm state, the liquid should be stirred near the surface once for each two years that the corporeal form occupied its body before death.
89.
90. Step Five: Begin the connection between the mental form and the physical form by adding the diviner's sage. These leaves are to be chopped roughly with the straight end of the boline, and added one by one.
91.
92. Step Six: The flame should be adjusted to a high impact one at this stage. The water must now boil, in a roaring form. Once bubbling has began, the runespoor egg should be cracked with the boline. It must be added immediately once the brew boils. As soon as the egg has been emptied into the cauldron, it should be stirred clockwise once for each month that the non-corporeal form has existed.
93.
94. Step Seven: All heat should be removed at this point, and the steps hereafter must be completed within ten minutes.
95.
96. Step Eight: Add the knotgrass flowers one by one, allowing for them to stew lightly on the surface of the liquid. The result will be a pungent aroma similar to that of burnt paper. This is the first sign that the previous steps have been completed properly.
97.
98. Step Nine: Following the addition of the flowers, the second portion of the brewing may begin. This begins with the addition of the bone of the father, taken through a method deemed "unknowingly". This means that the father of the son must either be deceased, or that the bone must be removed discreetly by placing the father in a state of sleeping. The second action must be flesh removed from the servant, or the person brewing said potion. This must be done using the curved edge of the boline. Finally, the boline is to be used to gather blood of the foe. Three drops are to be added, at which point the cauldron will begin metamorphosis into the corporeal form.

Rudimentary Body Potion
99.
100. Ingredients:

Water - 250mL
101.
102.
Unicorn Blood - 150mL
103.
104.
Vipera Bivittatus Venom - 5 drops
105.
106.
Blessed Milk Thistle Essence - 20mL
107.
108.
Rehmannia - 10g powdered
109.
110.
Cinnamon - 10g powdered
111.
112.
Collard Greens - Leaves of one full flowered plant
113.
114.
Fire Seeds - 4 crushed seeds
115. Allure and mystery surround the inception of the rudimentary body. Said to have been developed by Lord Voldemort or Tom Riddle between the years of 1981 to 1985, the brew allows a non-corpeal form to inhabit a synthesized skeleton. The "rudimentary" body which is formed appears as that of either a small child ridden with arthritis. Arduous risk is involved with brewing this draft; many of the ingredients are deemed illegal yet also compromising to the soul. Delving into this brew requires patience and understanding of the consequence of death.
116.
117. Unlike most potions, water does not act as a base in this brew. The purpose of water here is to provide a method to bind together the herbaceous components, before complex base liquids of blood are added. Essentially, the other ingredients were all chosen for their medicinal properties to protect a skeletal being with low immune defenses. The exceptions to this are the unicorn blood and fireseeds. The unicorn blood provides the magical charge to animate the skeleton, fuelled by the presence of fire seeds.
118.
119. Vipera Bivittatus - a rare species - is the only way to obtain the correct venom required. It is the genetically spliced combination of an ursinii viper with a burmese python. This adds to the difficulty of the potion, since one of these snakes must be properly bred before continuing. To add in the difficulty, the snake must also be kept under a constant engorgement charm. The snake venom, once diluted by way of the herbs, provides the rudimentary body with a vaccination of sorts. The body will begin producing anti-bodies to thwart the low levels of lethal venom, decreasing the ability for the immune system to be compromised.
120.
121. In order to form the bone, a high source of calcium is required; this comes in the way of collard greens. To allow for circulation of matter inside the physical form, powdered rehmannia and cinnamon are added. Lastly, milk thistle essence is added to promote liver function. Though the rudimentary body doesn't require a liver, it still does require a supplementary system by which it can cleanse infection.
122.
123. Ingredient Preparation:
124.

Unicorn Blood:

Typically, Unicorn blood will be found in a frozen form. This is due to the high potency of the blood when it is first harvested. Traders will commonly sell it in this form as well, seeing as it's much simpler to transport undetected. A secondary option would be to harvest the unicorn blood. This, however, leads to the damnation of one's soul and is typically frowned upon.
125.
126.
If frozen unicorn blood is selected, allow the construct of ice and blood to thaw at room temperature. Once thawed, the blood will begin to mix with the water surrounding it. It is recommended that a hydrokinetic be present to allow for minimal dilution of the blood by magically removing all traces of moisture from the blood. Should you not have a hydrokinetic available, it is recommended you harvest the blood yourself in order to increase chances of success. For each tenth part water to one part blood, chances for success decrease by two hundred percent.
127.
Blessed Milk Thistle Essence:

The magically potent component of a milk thistle plant is the ripened seeds. It is these seeds which will need to be pressed into an essence.
128.
129.
Press the seeds within a mortar and pestle, until ground into a fine powder
130.
131.
Cast "incendio" upon the mortar in order to heat the seeds to a temperature above the ambient. Once completed, add a small amount of water and dissolve the powder within the water.
132.
133.
Boil the contents of this liquid until a paste consistency is reached
134.
135. Preparation:

Step One: Begin by placing 250mL of water within a cast iron cauldron. The metallic nature of the cast iron will provide the potion with a sturdy base. Boil the water by means of a medium flame, just enough to bring the water to a boil.
136.
137.
Step Two: Place the collard greens within the cauldron and boil until wilted. As soon as they begin to wilt, remove the cauldron from the heat and remove the collard greens from the cauldron. Begin pressing the collard greens together by way of your hands until they are formed into a dense ball.
138.
139.
Step Three: Remove all water from the collard green "ball" by pressing it thoroughly. As soon as most of the moisture is removed, blend the greens into a liquid.
140.
141.
Step Four: Place the liquefied collard greens into the cauldron before bringing the liquid back to a roaring boil.
142.
143.
Step Five: Combine in a seperate vessel the powdered cinnamon, fireseeds, and rehmannia. Mash them thoroughly with either the dull end of a boline, or with a pestle. Add the snake venom to this mortar dropwise, making sure to mix well after each condition in a zig-zagged motion. Should the individual drops not be incorporated correctly, a foul stench will emit from the mortar. The stench is a notification that the contents have not been mixed correctly, and one must start over again. This places quite a hindrance on the brew as the snake can only be milked once every six months.
144.
145.
Step Six: Add the properly mixed paste into the cauldron, stirring three times counter-clockwise as soon as the contents have been added. Once the three turns are over, stir another three times clockwise. This portion of the potion will need to boil for fifty hours at a constant temperature. This will require either frequent fire-tending, or the introduction of a pyrokinetically controlled flame.
146.
147.
Step Seven: Once the fifty hours have elapsed, immediately remove the cauldron from the flame. Once the murky substance has stopped bubbling, add in the milk thistle essence in 5mL increments, stirring twice diagonally across the cauldron walls with each addition.
148.
149.
Step Eight: The solution is now complete up until the point where it must be added to the unicorn blood. It is once more recommended that a hydrokinetic be present to pull any remaining moisture from the paste, in order to achieve the highest rate of accuracy. The accuracy of the brew directly correlates to the mobility of the rudimentary animation.
150.
151.
Step Nine: Place the unicorn blood into a clean cauldron, preferably made of silver or brass. Fold in the contents from the other cauldron in the following steps:

Add in a third of the paste to the blood. This represents the formation of a body. The cauldron should be turned six times counter-clockwise; these six times represent the arms, legs, torso, and head. Once that is completed, tap your wand on the edge of the cauldron and recite: " Corpus Movere"
152.
153.
Add in the second third of the paste to the blood. This represents the formation of a mind and consciousness. The cauldron should be turned one time clockwise after this addition. Once that is completed, tap your wand on the edge of the cauldron and recite: " Animus Video".
154.
155.
Add in the last third of the paste to the blood. This represents the dissolution of the non-corpeal form into the brew, thus creating the physical rudimentary form. Once that is completed, tap your wand on the edge of the cauldron and recite: " Mens Sentio "

158.
All horcrux locations must be logged with the SS in charge of dark magic. If they are not logged and you die, you will lose a horcrux automatically.
159.
160. You may create up to 3 horcruxes at once, each revive costs 1 whole horcrux. Once you have 0 horcruxes you may recreate 1 new horcrux per month.
161.
162. Dying with 0 horcruxes available will result in your character's permanent death.
163.
164. Horcruxes work how they do in canon; if you die, you are able to be revived using bone of the father, flesh of the servant and blood of the enemy, providing someone performs the ritual for you. It is best to screenshot the process in case altercations come up.
165.
166. If your character kills themself, they will lose a horcrux. The same goes for dying from an unbreakable vow. They must still be revived in the traditional way.
167.
168. If you seek to destroy someone's horcruxes, you must provide comprehensive proof in the form of screenshots of your knowledge of their location. Once you destroy a horcrux, you must log it with screenshot proof with the SS in charge of dark magic.

All horcrux locations must be logged with the SS in charge of dark magic. There are two types of horcruxes and can be used at the same time:
169.

"Life horcruxes" can be used as a means to return from any otherwise permanent death through one of the following: suicide, an unbreakable vow or a death you agree to. You only ever get one of these, however, you may choose when to employ it -- when used, the horcrux is destroyed. If another roleplayer 'kills' you and you don't agree to it, you may still undergo a 7 day coma and retain your life horcrux. To bypass the 7 day wait, you can use up your life horcrux.
170.
171.

Once you use your life horcrux, your next death will be permanent (if it is a suicide, unbreakable vow or a death you agree to). You may still undergo a 7 day coma if you do not want your character to die.
172.
173.
Any usages of a life horcrux must be recorded in the altercations forum, even if there's no altercation.
174.
"Scavenger horcruxes" can be used for storyline purposes and do not explicitly bring your character back from death like life horcruxes do. You may have up to 6 of these. If you agree to death whilst you have scavenger horcruxes active, it will use up your life horcrux (or if you have no life horcrux left, you will be permanently killed). Again, you do not have to agree to death, you may employ a 7 day coma in place of the horcrux usage.
175.
176.

Scavenger horcruxes are to be used for canon-like storylines; encourage people to find and destroy them.
177.
They are entirely optional.
178. There are two kinda of scavenger horcruxes:
179.

Item horcruxes must be kept in a `H` room or worn by a character. They cannot be stored inside of official RP artifacts.
180.
Character horcruxes must be stored inside of an actively roleplayed character. If a character containing a horcrux leaves the roleplay, the horcrux may be re-cast elsewhere. To destroy a character horcrux, you must kill the character (a 7 day coma will destroy the horcrux also).

Horcruxes are fragments of the soul stored in items or people that to create require the act of killing another person (24 hour, perm or npc). The horcrux creator must be listed as a character with knowledge of the spell otherwise the horcrux is deemed void. In this rp there are two different distinctions for horcrux listed below.
181.

Life Horcrux
182. "1 horcrux" in usage as the backup life. It can be removed the same way as a regular rper perm death which means through breaking an unbreakable vow, suicide (this counts deaths in the MLE holding cells that are used to escape punishment), or rper's choice to remove it. That's the power it adds on the backup side. You can have 1 of these and ONLY one of these... ever. This one cannot be destroyed by any other method unless the person with said horcrux chooses for it to be. On usage of the life horcrux, all unbreakable vows are removed. Upon removal of a life horcrux, there needs to be a post done in the altercations subforum (it doesn't have to be a direct altercation but its a public place where this can be discussed and logged by parties involved) and there either needs to be proof of the removal (if suicide like from the MLE, or unbreakable vow breach) or the horcrux creator needs to state and agree to it.
183.
184.
Scavenger Horcrux
185. Scavenger Horcruxs are horcruxs that can be destroyed. If the horcrux rper chooses to tie this to the life horcrux it is up to them (as in if they want to remove their life horcrux after people find a certain number of scavenger horcruxes they can make that agreement).
186.
187. If a person wishes to tie 48 hour deaths to a horcrux, they can but are not required to. A person is allowed to make up to 6 of these (to keep with canon) but they are not required to make any at all if they choose not to. The creation of these have to be logged with the SS.
188.
189. Scavenger Horcruxs can be stored in two different types of vessels:
190.
191.

Item Horcruxes
192. Horcruxes placed in items are PERMANENTLY there until the soul fragment has either been used to rebirth a character or until the item is destroyed (unless its the life horc. In either case the horcrux will no longer be in existence and will count towards a person's horcrux total. Item Horcruxes must be kept in either an `H` room or worn by a ic person. They can be worn on characters how a person chooses wearing a horcrux chooses to rp the effects is up to them (generally light rpers it effects negatively while dark rpers it makes them feel more empowered people in the middle it has both effects) although these effects are limited to mood, personality, mental state and do not grant extra powers to the wearer (such as communication with horcrux holder, abilities, traits ect.). Horcruxes CANNOT be stored in official rp artifacts.
193.
194.
Character Horcruxes
195. These are horcruxes stored via characters similar to how Harry Potter was to Voldemort. If a horcrux is removed from a person due to leaving the rp, it does not go against the horcrux count (it can simply be moved from one person to the other). These can be removed from a person by killing them in a manner that would lead to a 48 hour death although they upon coming back unlike with 48 hour deaths will have memory of all events leading up to the death as well as the ability to bypass the 48 hours. Unbreakable vows will still exist and they can't be used to escape the cells or suicide. Only one of the total Scavenger Horcruxes can be used in this manner.
