  1. [17:05] Henry de Vir asks, "What's up with the sudden interest in wayfinding?"
  2. [17:09] "Huh.. Would you believe it was in a pursuit for more knowledge?" he started as he placed his chin into his palm, his elbow pressed against the table.
  3.
  4. "I also want to create an Armory. An armory to store weaponry that would be linked to my descendants. An armory that will be able to help my bloodline for generations to come, to do whatever they want." he thought outloud.
  5.
  6. "Something that would be hidden away in another realm, or another plane of existence. Something that only my descendants will be capable of locating."
  7. (Toratori Hintze)
  8. [17:09] Toratori Hintze asks, "How about you? Why did you want to learn wayfinding?"
  9. [17:23] A thin film of dust is swept off the oaken chair's seat before the blonde settles himself into it, his hooded cerulean gaze regarding Toratori with curiosity.
  10.
  11. "The pursuit of knowledge and to create an armory only your descendants would be able to access, hmm." he parrots, mulling over the thought.
  12.
  13. "If you intend to hide this armory away in such a manner then your descendants would need to be able to wayfind to access it too. Or at least enlist the aid of a wayfinder."
  14.
  15. A slight shrug of his shoulders follow.
  16.
  17. "As for my motivation, my drive. The headmaster took me on my first journey through the lifestream my first year here. I've been obsessed ever since. The sensations, the thrill. The runes, the endless possibilities.." he cuts his train of thought off and clears his throat.
  18.
  19. "Anyways, that's enough about me. You're going to need a strong foundation in runewriting to make any headway into wayfinding.
  20.
  21. The very basis upon which the art is founded is in runes."
  22.
  23. Henry's eyes focus, a certain sense of intensity building up behind the blonde's spoken words.
  24.
  25. "How familiar are you with the runic languages?"
  26. (Henry de Vir)
  27. [17:33] Reaching forward with his left hand, he'd tap at the table with his digits in a rhythmic fashion.
  28.
  29. "About my descendants." he hummed as he thought about it. "Well that's the plan for now. The original plan was to create a place, an armory of sorts that's invisible from the naked eye. Only my blood would be able to see it, or at least have an heirloom handed down to help them see it." he smiled.
  30.
  31. "I'd need wayfinding to either lock it away in a faraway land, or to simply keep it in a realm or a space I could create. That would be the alternative in case the original plan doesn't work out."
  32.
  33. Moving his hand to halt the rhythmic beat, he listened to Henry explain his reasoning as to why he learned the sacred art. Which was something that he could get behind himself.
  34.
  35. "Huh. Never knew that Ethric was capable of such magic. But then again, it just proves everyone's doubts that he does know everything."
  36.
  37. He laughed as he leaned back into his chair, folding his arms into his lap.
  38.
  39. "I uh.. Have none. I've never thought it was important as I always had people to help me with it. But as I find again, there's always something else that I need to learn haha~"
  40. (Toratori Hintze)
  41. [17:47] Henry's composure slips and he stares, mouth agape at Toratori for a brief moment. Had he heard him correctly?
  42.
  43. "Ahem. No knowledge of runewriting at all.
  44.
  45. Well, I guess we will have to start from the basics.
  46.
  47. But, what you just mentioned, creating a realm or a space. That is, from a realistic standpoint, impossible. At least, not without a massive amount of mana and external foci.
  48.
  49. Wayfinding at it's core, is the using runic invocations to create an entryway into the lifestream. We, as wayfinders, are simply taken for a ride along the lifestream. We don't create or destroy."
  50.
  51. At the conclusion of his small monologue, the blonde rises from his seat and browses the numerous bookshelves around them with practiced familiarity. It would take him but a short while to locate the tomes he desired. Namely, introductory books to runewriting.
  52.
  53. The bundle of musty tomes are brought back to the table and gently placed before the ookami, with a slight flourish.
  54.
  55. "Time to get studying."
  56. (Henry de Vir)
  57. [17:58] "Yup! I know what it is, just never bothered to learn it until now~"
  58.
  59. He laughed all the while, especially by looking at Henry's response. He knew for sure that he'd cause problems as this wasn't an easy task to begin with.
  60.
  61. "Hmm.. yes you have a point, then as of now. I'll probably just create an armory, then transport it?" he raised a brow as he wondered if his strength would have to do with how much he could transport through the lifestream with.
  62.
  63. "O! Yes, I've heard something similar to that. How Riftmancy is more like tearing open the lifestream, whereas wayfinding is moving through the lifestream right?"
  64.
  65. He raised a digit as the random thought was flew open from the depths of his mind."
  66.
  67. Blue hues followed Henry as they stood, moving towards a collection within the bookshelves before pulling out a tome of their desire.
  68.
  69. "Aah.. Studying. The one thing that I hated the most." he smiled.
  70. (Toratori Hintze)
  71. [18:15] Henry lounges in the oaken chair, to the best of his ability, anyways.
  72.
  73. "Riftmancy harms the lifestream, yes." A shake of his head follows. "It's a depraved art and repercussions include unleashing nethradins from Helheim into the mortal realm."
  74.
  75. "As for study... Well, that's all you're going to be doing for the next couple of years. You're going to have to become intimately familiar with the runic language in that book." He gestures towards the tome he had placed on the desk in front of Toratori.
  76.
  77. "Upon mastery of runewriting, I'll provide you with an incomplete runic invocation for opening a portal into the lifestream itself. It'll be up to you to complete that invocation, as a test of sorts."
  78.
  79. Hands clasp together on his lap and he continues to lay out his lesson plan.
  80.
  81. "And once you've completed the runic invocation, we attempt our first entry. I'll be there to supervise, should anything go wrong.
  82.
  83. "But for now." He gestures to the Runewriting 101 tome. "Best to get reading."
  84. (Henry de Vir)
  85. [18:25] "Aah… You say it's going to be a couple of years.. but your joking right?"
  86.
  87. Reaching forward, he'd take the tome into his hands as he laughed nervously. He truly hoped for this to be done within a year tops! But then again, he was required to do what he needed to in order to learn how to wayfind.
  88.
  89. "So study my butt off, get a general understanding of runewriting. Then try to attempt the runic invocation for opening a portal into the lifestream itself." he nodded.
  90.
  91. "Quite a big step if you ask me." he smiled as he opened the tome before flipping through its pages to get a little understanding of what he was getting into.
  92.
  93. "Then. hopefully when I try to transport through the lifestream. We end up with all our limbs."
  94. (Toratori Hintze)
  95.
