  1. Rosenkrantz_GM IT IS THE 41ST MILLENNIUM...
  2. Rosenkrantz_GM While the Consequence undergoes a refit using just about the entirety of the Ntharis system's orbital resources and facilities, you get acquainted with the station and its inhabitants, while receiving reports on the events that have transpired for the amount of time you were in transit.
  3. Rosenkrantz_GM The Ecclesiarchy had taken immediate interest in your expedition and its findings when the Dynasty originally gave its officials the relevant information. As time went by, Bishop Vorites was sent to Foulstone to study the merits of incorporating the Order of the Hammer into the Cult, and legitimizing the relic found therein. He, too, was to meet with Father Calvin, to see what the findings
  4. Rosenkrantz_GM could illuminate about the fate of St. Cognatius.
  5. Rosenkrantz_GM Time, however, went by with little more to see than the Hammer, and the Ecclesiarchy began to lose its patience. If Foulstone has been attacked, and either the relic or worse -the Bishop- lost, it could mean the Ecclesiarchy pulls away its support in its entirety.
  6. Makh_Chomun "Troubling," Makh comments. "Very troubling."
  7. Vivian was a little.. Busy. To say the least. She has been actively trying to re-establish and get in touch with her contacts in Footfall to scope out and track down the legitimacy of the rumors regarding Foulstone and the Relic.
  8. Calvin_Colonel "What we must do is clear: deploy the House Guard, protect the Bishop and the holy sites. If we lose them, this will all have been for naught."
  9. Makh_Chomun "We need to get there first, Father." Makh says matter-of-factly. "It's rather obvious what needs to be done, but we can't do anything until we ship out."
  10. Calvin_Colonel "Certainly... Certainly, yes. Forgive me. Would that I had the clarity of fervor of the Sororitas. Lady Vivian, you said there was evidence of hostiles in this region, yes?"
  11. Vivian "There is no real indication for certain. All that I can find is that there is a single report of voidships raiding the area- but any additional information is growing far more difficult to come by."
  12. Josef "Void Scum preying on Holy Sites. We should act."
  13. Rosenkrantz_GM Professor Castile chimes in, "I should note that none of this information has been relayed to the Ecclesiarchy. My most recent communication with them indicated they had no knowledge of what was going on, and we'd do well to resolve this matter before any of it reaches them."
  14. Vivian quietly checks her chrono. "If we are to investigate and resolve this matter- what of the Child? He will stay here while we do this.. Yes?"
  15. Baine_Mort I'm guessing you still want to kill some pirates Josef?"
  16. Calvin_Colonel frowns "It could be worse than Void Scum, Magos. Far worse."
  17. Makh_Chomun "If that's the case, Castile, we'll leave as soon as repairs are finished."
  18. Calvin_Colonel "Excellent, send for an Astropath, then. The Bishop must know."
  19. Vivian "The report said it was 'Savagely constructed'. Not much else to go on."
  20. Rosenkrantz_GM "He goes with you, my Lady. This station is no-doubt known to our enemies. It is for this reason that Lord Wilhelm insisted on Marius joining you. To remain mobile, and every away from the reaches of the scum who seek to take the young Lord's life. Before you are ready to depart, I will ask you if there is anything you will be requiring? Governor Traex is unlikely to deny us any requests,"
  21. Rosenkrantz_GM he looks around as though showing the generosity the Dynasty has shown him in recent months.
  22. Josef "The Void Robert must be exterminated with no mercy or remorse". His gears start to violently grind and hiss as if the machine spirits in his bionics agree.
  23. Rosenkrantz_GM A knock on the door leading to the lodgings interupts you.
  24. Rosenkrantz_GM "Have your men taken many losses in your adventures, Makh? I can't promise much quality, but there are plenty of souls in Ntharis that could bolster numbers. The Dynasty has taken care to provide for basic combat training."
  25. Makh_Chomun "They'd need to be Armsman first, and they need some bolstering anyways. One of the key requirements to join the House Guard is some semblance of competency as an Armsman."
  26. Vivian mutters "Hopefully they'll have more than just lazpistols this time.."
  27. Rosenkrantz_GM "I am certain we can find the men necessary, I will have the request placed without delay."
  28. Makh_Chomun "The sooner the better."
  29. Rosenkrantz_GM Your requests to the Governor are answered almost immediately. Traex approves it all, almost without question. Almost, for his personal armory has to surrender over the Magos' request.
  30. Rosenkrantz_GM ======skiparoo======
  31. Rosenkrantz_GM +The Consequence has docked with the station. We are ready for departure when you are, my Lords.+
  32. Rosenkrantz_GM Marius, the young dynastic scion walks along with professor Castile at his side. This will be their last day together.
  33. Rosenkrantz_GM "Whoa... it's a big ship!"
  34. Rosenkrantz_GM They stop by a viewport.
  35. Makh_Chomun "If you think The Consequence is big, lad, you oughta see the Aurorae.
  36. Rosenkrantz_GM The boys eyes don't leave the Consequence.
  37. Rosenkrantz_GM "Are we going in that one?!"
  38. Rosenkrantz_GM "You are, young Marius. Come now, you must board."
  39. Rosenkrantz_GM Once more, after a month spent on Ntharis, you board the Consequence. Its crew welcomes you, and a sense of rejuvenation fills the bridge and its passageways.
  40. Josef looks at his Omnissian engraved Storm Shield. This was an interesting acquisition he thought to himself.
  41. Baine_Mort "Its good to be back on board."
  42. Rosenkrantz_GM "My Lords, we have received your orders. We will set course to Foulstone."
  43. Makh_Chomun "Excellent. Let's hope we're not as late this time."
  44. Vivian gives up a saddened sigh. Things were going to become far more complicated now with a young child on board. "We're going to need to find proper quarters for the Young Lord."
  45. Vivian "And see to that he is able to stick to a proper schedule, and academics."
  46. Rosenkrantz_GM First Officer Titus appears confused by the unexpected passenger.
  47. Baine_Mort "Unless we somehow go back in time." Mort comments
  48. Rosenkrantz_GM "Pray, Master Mort, that such a fluctuation does not affect our journey."
  49. Baine_Mort "I hope so as well."
  50. Vivian noted Titus' expression, before giving a low chuckle. "First Officer Titus, Lord Wilhelm has insisted that we take on the responsibility of seeing to Lord Marius' care, for the time being." As she spoke, she'd gesture to the young boy in question.
  51. Rosenkrantz_GM "Well, it is my honor, Lord Rosenkrantz, to have you on board." Titus gives a short bow customary of naval officers.
  52. Rosenkrantz_GM Marius gives him an exaggerated salute.
  53. Rosenkrantz_GM "Thank you, sir!"
  54. Rosenkrantz_GM Titus chuckles.
  55. Rosenkrantz_GM "The matter of accomodations will be up to your discretion, Lady Vivian. I will make sure your requests are fulfilled."
  56. Rosenkrantz_GM "Can I drive?" Marius asks, as he walks towards the fore of the bridge.
  57. Rosenkrantz_GM One of the helmsmen appears uncomfortable by the child approaching the rather sensitive navigational equipment.
  58. Rosenkrantz_GM "Now, that's no job for a young man like you," Titus calls.
  59. Vivian nods. "Very good. I'll see to forwarding a list of particular items for his room, right away." Though as Marius approached the navigational equipment, she'd come to step swiftly to his side, bringing a hand to rest on his shoulder. "My Lord, would you like to see the collection of books I've brought back from our expedition to find the Saint?"
  60. Rosenkrantz_GM "Saint Cognatious?"
  61. Vivian "The very one and the same."
  62. Rosenkrantz_GM "More books?!" his eyes widen
  63. Rosenkrantz_GM "ALL HANDS, PREPARE UNDOCKING PROCEDURES!" Titus calls the order.
  64. Baine_Mort Mike enters the bridge with Tod and hands him off to Mort before heading off. Mort proceeds to give him a good pat on the head.
  65. Vivian nods, smiling warmly. "Mmhm! We'll have plenty to read, and to keep you busy." Then she'd hold up a hand- indicating with a fingertip. "Though. If you're more interested in being a pilot.. I suppose the books can wait.."
  66. Makh_Chomun calls Downfield over the vox and asks her to bring him a report on their new recruits later.
  67. Rosenkrantz_GM The bridge gets very busy, with every man doing his part to launch.
  68. Rosenkrantz_GM The Consequence launches, and heads out for the edge of the system. Lt Downfield brings a report of all recruits to Lord Chomun, along with schematics.
  69. Rosenkrantz_GM Schematics of the new conflict resolution arena.
  70. Rosenkrantz_GM It has been installed in the mid-aft decks, replacing an old promethium storage chamber.
  71. Makh_Chomun is quite giddy at the thought of having his own arena. It will be honorable, there will be no slave-fighters or indentured warriors. This will be a ring of honor and pride for the crew.
  72. Calvin_Colonel "A conflict resolution area? Is that really what we are calling it?"
  73. Makh_Chomun "For now. It's going to be magnificent."
  74. Rosenkrantz_GM The warp voyage is, Emperor be praised, as 'normal' as they come. Anomalies, and haunting dreams reported by the crew, and couple dozen missing crew, make for a smooth trip. The new recruits are made to attend every drill the armsmen are expected to, and the veterans worthy of the position, are ascended into the House Guard, to bring the detachment back to full strength at 500 warriors.
  75. Rosenkrantz_GM Nearly three weeks go by, when you arrive at Foulstone. Immediately, signs of trouble are brought to your attention.
  76. Rosenkrantz_GM The remains of destroyed voidships litter the orbit above Foulstone.
  77. Rosenkrantz_GM +ALL HANDS TO STATIONS+
  78. Rosenkrantz_GM "Etherics, give me a channel to communicate with the surface!"
  79. Calvin_Colonel "Emperor, guide us to save any of the faithful that may yet linger. And if there are no survivors, show us the way to avenge them."
  80. Baine_Mort communicates with the gunnery commanders to ready all of the ships weapons.
  81. Makh_Chomun +All Armsman and HG are to make ready for boarding. High-Alert, Leftenant.+ He immediately informs his XO.
  82. Calvin_Colonel +All hands, prepare to purge the unclean!+
  83. Rosenkrantz_GM "Sir, we are receiving nothing."
  84. Josef stands at an unmanned console to direct the Medicae deck and keep in communication with the Enginarium
  85. Rosenkrantz_GM "Emperor have mercy..." Titus says under his breath.
  86. Rosenkrantz_GM "Scatter interceptors, bombers, anything we have to launch! Find survivors from the wreckage, and prepare an away party to make planetfall. Full speed towards the planet!"
  87. Rosenkrantz_GM The Consequence shakes as the plasma engines are pushed to their limit to reach a stable orbit.
  88. Baine_Mort "Titus, all weapon decks are reporting green."
  89. Rosenkrantz_GM "Lord Chomun, prepare your away parties. Launching craft will be waiting."
  90. Josef "Understood, Lord Captain."
  91. Makh_Chomun "Of course." He modifies his orders on his way to the embarkation deck.
  92. Baine_Mort "I am ready when you are Chomun." He makes his way out to the embarkation deck.
  93. Rosenkrantz_GM Every transport is readied, as though a full invasion were underway. Titus knows the importance of Foulstone to the Dynasty and is taking no chances; he is making every asset available to the Lord-Protector.
  94. Josef gathers his equipment and meets Lord Chomun.
  95. Rosenkrantz_GM House Guard pour into the transports, sergeants shouting orders to their squads, lieutenants overseeing their embarking.
  96. Baine_Mort order Mike to join him and bring the Heavy Bolter.
  97. Vivian quietly keeps Marius busy with his studies, preferring to keeping him distracted from the actual noise going on.
  98. Calvin_Colonel revs up his flamer "Finally, a chance to use this"
  99. Rosenkrantz_GM The landers launch one after the other, little in the way of a formation; the urgency of the situation apparent.
  100. Rosenkrantz_GM Yours is the fourth such transport to launch, and you follow those ahead towards the atmosphere of Foulstone.
  101. Rosenkrantz_GM The House Guard around you are silent. Their senses honed in on what's to come.
  102. Baine_Mort checks over the Heavy Bolter to make sure everything is in order.
  103. Calvin_Colonel starts to intone hymn to raise moral
  104. Rosenkrantz_GM The flight become bumpy as you enter the atmosphere, the viewports starting to glow bright orange with the superheated gas outside.
  105. Makh_Chomun keeps his hands on the pommel of his thunder-hammer, comfortable in his armor even while strapped into his crash-hardness.
  106. Rosenkrantz_GM The House Guard bow their heads with Father Calvin's lead.
  107. Calvin_Colonel "Imperator Sanctaa Su-u-u-u-bii-iit"
  108. Calvin_Colonel "Qui Infernum Confregi-it"
  109. Rosenkrantz_GM The turbulence is rough; Foulstone's atmsophere has always been rough.
  110. Josef up his Storm Shield and says "his machine is discharged into your care.Fight with this machine, and guard it from the shame of defeat.Serve this machine, as you would have fight it for you."
  111. Rosenkrantz_GM +Lord Chomun. This is Major Townsend, on the cockpit. Please join us.+
  112. Josef "I shall..."
  113. Josef puts the shield down.
  114. Makh_Chomun +One moment, Major.+ He hits the release buckle on his harness and stretches in his armor. He leaves the hammer where it stands and makes his way to the cockpit.
  115. Rosenkrantz_GM The view from the cockpit is much broader. The Major doesn't have to say much for you to know what this is about.
  116. Rosenkrantz_GM The monastery is in ruin.
  117. Rosenkrantz_GM The fields are burning, the ancient construction wrecked.
  118. Calvin_Colonel gasps
  119. Rosenkrantz_GM "My Lord, it was a xenos raid," he points to an enlarged image from the auspex.
  120. Makh_Chomun Makh looks at the image on the auspex display.
  121. Calvin_Colonel "Xenos?!"
  122. Rosenkrantz_GM Savage creatures with leathery skin in green hue walk about aimlessly looting.
  123. Makh_Chomun "The hell are those creatures?"
  124. Rosenkrantz_GM "Please return to your seat, Lord Chomun. We are landing soon."
  125. Makh_Chomun nods. "Grim work is to be done here."
  126. Makh_Chomun He returns to his seat and straps in again, his fists tensing around the grip of his hammer.
  127. Rosenkrantz_GM The House Guard look intently at their commander.
  128. Rosenkrantz_GM "What's the situation, sir?"
  129. Rosenkrantz_GM The pilot makes a rapid descent.
  130. Baine_Mort readies the heavy bolter.
  131. Makh_Chomun "Grim. There's knife-work needs doing lads and lasses."
  132. Calvin_Colonel "I shall lead the charge!"
  133. Calvin_Colonel "Men of the Emperor, are you ready to die for me?"
  134. Rosenkrantz_GM The men hit the deck with their arms and boot, roaring and cheering.
  135. Rosenkrantz_GM boots*
  136. Calvin_Colonel spouts a gout of flame into the air
  137. Rosenkrantz_GM The ramplights go orange.
  138. Josef wields his Eviscerator, Storm Shield , and Power Axe.
  139. Rosenkrantz_GM Then yellow... the men hold on to their harnesses.
  140. Rosenkrantz_GM A rough, almost violent landing follows, and the lights become a bright green, the ramp opening as soon as the transport hits the ground.
  141. Makh_Chomun leaps out of his seat, after hitting the release buckle again. "Forward men and women of the Dynasty! Forwards!" He thunders down the ramp, letting Calvin lead the charge, Makh right beside him.
  142. Baine_Mort releases his harness and makes his way out and down the ramp, Heavy Bolter at the ready.
  143. Rosenkrantz_GM The men pour out behind you, boots hitting the dusty ground, bayonets fixed.
  144. Calvin_Colonel "For the Emperor!"
  145. Baine_Mort sees the Green creatures as he makes his way out, "Shit, those are Orks."
  146. Calvin_Colonel "It matters not what they are, only that they ARE NOT!"
  147. Rosenkrantz_GM The first group you encounter wield cutlasses and various clubs, some armed with rough looking pistols, and wide-barreled ranged weapons.
  148. Makh_Chomun "Orks!?" Makh roars out as they charger closer to the greenskins.
  149. Rosenkrantz_GM They let out a fierce war cry and charge you.
  150. Josef "Xenos Scum for my dissection table."
  151. Rosenkrantz_GM They fire on their charge, but the beasts are as inaccurate as they are grotesque.
  152. Josef "FILTHY GREENSKIN PIRATES!"
  153. Josef charges in and locks blades with one of the Orks in the formation.
  154. Calvin_Colonel "The faithful have naught to fear!"
  155. Calvin_Colonel erupts his flamer in the direction of the horde
  156. Rosenkrantz_GM The flames pour forth towards the horde, and seemingly dance around the Genetor, instead setting fire to four of the savage beasts ahead.
  157. Baine_Mort opens fire with his heavy bolter on the horde of Orks, his Bolter loaded up with Dragon Rounds.
  158. Rosenkrantz_GM The burst hits the horde in its entirety, ripping through their ranks in a spray of gore and limbs. The explosive rounds are a terrifying thing indeed.
  159. Rosenkrantz_GM As the first rows of them are destroyed, however, more come forth.
  160. Makh_Chomun charges forth, a battlecry on his lips as he lays in with the foe. He slams his Thunder-Hammer against one of the disgusting greenskins, not very satisfied with the thunk he hears from his hammer blow landing.
  161. Rosenkrantz_GM The concussive effect kills the creature, and also sends its fellow /orks/ flying back.
  162. Rosenkrantz_GM The creatures strike back, at Josef and Lord Chomun, but are repelled back.
  163. Josef swings wildly at the Xenos and cuts into it's right leg.
  164. Calvin_Colonel continues to sing as he fights, hitting a high note just as the flames arc across a large portion of the orks, as well as Chomun
  165. Calvin_Colonel "Ave Imperator, Gratia Plena,"
  166. Calvin_Colonel "DOMINUS!"
  167. Calvin_Colonel "TECUM!"
  168. Baine_Mort continues to lay in lead to the Orks with his Heavy Bolter.
  169. Rosenkrantz_GM The flames engulf even the genetor, who ignores their effect, as he carries on fighting. The burst of Mort's fire destroys a huge portion of the ork flank, goring the largest of them.
  170. Calvin_Colonel "The Faithful have naught to fear!" he repeats
  171. Josef is laughing like a deranged mechanical spider.
  172. Rosenkrantz_GM Around you, the guardsmen with bayonets thrusting on their opponents, shots at point blank range, cheer in the name of the Emperor at this display of faith shielding the genetor from harm.
  173. Makh_Chomun Rising from his last slaying of an Ork, Makh readies his hammer for an over-head swing, which lands with a thunk and a spark of lightning, shearing the orks arm off, killing the creatue instantly. Makh wasn't sure if it was that masterful kill, or all the dead bodies adding up on the orks side, but the greenskins start to flee, bellowing in their pig tongue as they turn to flight.
  174. Makh_Chomun "Run them down! Let no greenskin live this day!"
  175. Calvin_Colonel "Douse their remains in promethium! Leave no trace of their very existence! They ARE NOT!"
  176. Rosenkrantz_GM The men continue to charge forth, firing from the hip as they close the distance, only to thrust their bayonets and combat knives into the xenos bodies. Those men on the back of the formation make sure to stab at any of the corpses left on the dirt to ensure they are dead, cleaning up the mess their brothers have made.
  177. Baine_Mort watches as the Orks begin to retreat with the Guardsman in pursuit and relaxes his weapon.
  178. Josef starts collecting samples of the Ork's dead bodies for future study.
  179. Makh_Chomun embeds his thunder-hammer in a near dead ork's bed, mulching it with a hearty clap as his hammer meets the greenskin's ugly face. He spits on it's corpse. "Man, do they smell."
  180. Makh_Chomun gets Major Townsend on the vox to organize several kill-teams to secures the monastery ahead of the main party.
  181. Rosenkrantz_GM The smell of burning crops, spices, and... corpses fills the atmosphere out here, just outside the monastery.
  182. Rosenkrantz_GM The defiling of this place is complete.
  183. Rosenkrantz_GM Your efforts, though valiant, were too late.
  184. Rosenkrantz_GM More landers fly over you towards the monastery, to deploy the forward parties as you close in.
  185. Rosenkrantz_GM You hear the sound of las- and projectile weapons ahead. They appear to be engaged.
  186. Calvin_Colonel "By the Emperor, survivors! Go! We must help them!"
  187. Josef goes to check on the wounded.
  188. Calvin_Colonel rushes forward
  189. Rosenkrantz_GM The House Guard follow the priest.
  190. Makh_Chomun follows after, hefting his thunder-hammer.
  191. Baine_Mort advances with Calvin.
  192. Rosenkrantz_GM Inside a semi-collapsed grain depository, you can see a group of men firing at approaching orks bellow.
  193. Calvin_Colonel keys the laud hailer in his servo skull +Rejoice, for your salvation is at hand!+
  194. Calvin_Colonel rushes forward and douses the nearest Orkz with his flamer
  195. Rosenkrantz_GM The orks turn to charge Colonel as their fellow creature burns.
  196. Rosenkrantz_GM The House Guard, however, stand in close rank in front of the priest and open fire with fierce effect.
  197. Rosenkrantz_GM The orks, here numbering no more than 10, are gunned down.
  198. Makh_Chomun makes his way down after his GH and Calvin gun down the orks.
  199. Baine_Mort follows Chomun.
  200. Rosenkrantz_GM The survivors call to you, "We cannot climb down. We are stuck. The ladder has collapsed in here!"
  201. Rosenkrantz_GM They toss their weapons out the ventilation frame towards you, along with a few holy tomes and other items of value.
  202. Calvin_Colonel "Wait, no!"
  203. Calvin_Colonel "Genetor! Fix a ladder, or, or... something!"
  204. Makh_Chomun +We need you over here Josef.+
  205. Josef +Understood, Lord Chomun.+ He leaves to join the others.
  206. Josef "I will ascend downward into the pit. Just a moment."
  207. Rosenkrantz_GM Josef uses his jump pack to launch himself up towards the survivors. His aim, however, is imperfect, and the weakened state of the target structure makes for an unforgiving effect.
  208. Rosenkrantz_GM He lands much too fast, and strikes the structure like a projectile, destroying a portion that crumbles to the ground along with the genetor.
  209. Rosenkrantz_GM Unfortunately, a monk, too, follows suit, hitting the ground.
  210. Josef "I have made an error!"
  211. Baine_Mort "Damn it Josef!"
  212. Rosenkrantz_GM "Edalias! No!"
  213. Rosenkrantz_GM Another survivor calls out from above.
  214. Calvin_Colonel rushes to the wounded, getting his medkit out
  215. Josef stabilizes the poor man with Father Colonel and yells "I need to get him to the ship."
  216. Makh_Chomun +We need a medical evac now.+ He sends over the vox to one of the awaiting transports. He orders some of the HG to get the man up as soon as she's stable and ready to go.
  217. Baine_Mort moves up to wall and takes his Grapnel hook and throws it up over the structure.
  218. Baine_Mort Mort hands off his Heavy Bolter to Mike and begins scaling the structure.
  219. Calvin_Colonel takes a moment to reload his flamer
  220. Baine_Mort After a few minutes of climbing, Mort makes it to the top of the structure.
  221. Rosenkrantz_GM Mort makes it up, to see how precarious a platform the survivors are on. Two monks, and a young apprentice remain.
  222. Rosenkrantz_GM They see the insignias on Master Mort, and immediately beseech his help.
  223. Baine_Mort "You three all right?"
  224. Rosenkrantz_GM "You are with the Raven!"
  225. Rosenkrantz_GM "The Hammer! They took the Fury's Charge! Emperor forgive us..."
  226. Rosenkrantz_GM the man begins to weep.
  227. Baine_Mort "Yes I am, Do you know where they took it, and did they take any other Relics?
  228. Calvin_Colonel "Do not despair! Despair is a cardinal sin against Him! Take heart, for the faithful are here. The Faithful have naught to fear!"
  229. Calvin_Colonel redact
  230. Rosenkrantz_GM "They are... beasts! Monsters! How could any man know the mind of such a vile manifestation of evil!"
  231. Baine_Mort "I understand." +We have a problem guys, looks like the Orks got the Hammer.+
  232. Baine_Mort looks back to the monk,
  233. Rosenkrantz_GM Fear looks back at you. The man is gone. Lost to despair.
  234. Baine_Mort looks to the other two, can you two climb down with out a problem?"
  235. Rosenkrantz_GM "We can try."
  236. Baine_Mort "Just take it nice and slow when you head down, I'll get him down myself."
  237. Baine_Mort +Chomun, I got to people coming down, and a third who I'll be bringing down myself.+
  238. Makh_Chomun leaves the monks to Mort, Calvin and Josef. Makh heads outside to make sure the immediate area is secure.
  239. Rosenkrantz_GM By now, several squads have arrived to form a perimeter around the monastery.
  240. Baine_Mort helps the one monk up and gets him secured to him as to take him down from the structure.
  241. Rosenkrantz_GM Lt. Dreiger is among the reinforcements. He searches for Makh, and approaches as soon as he spots his commander.
  242. Baine_Mort The first two monks make it down from the structure, he then attaches himself to the rope with the third monk secured to himself and makes his decent to the ground with ease.
  243. Rosenkrantz_GM "Sir, it looks like we caught the tail-end of these damnable things. Whatever was left behind from... all of this. Our boys have cleared out the perimeter, and the monastery itself is reported to have small groups of these beasts remaining."
  244. Baine_Mort One down he unsecured the monk from himself and brings him over to Calvin.
  245. Calvin_Colonel puts a hand on his forehead "Fear not, child. The Faithful are here. The Faithful have naught to fear."
  246. Calvin_Colonel "What ails you?"
  247. Rosenkrantz_GM "Cognatious... we have failed him. The beast came from the sky. He took the relic... the holy relic."
  248. Calvin_Colonel "It is not lost forever. We shall take it back. We shall take it back!"
  249. Makh_Chomun "That was just the tail-end?" He ponders that for a moment. "Tell Titus to get more men down here, and to have the ship scan the planet for where the concentrations of these damnable greenskins might be. And to be on alert for their ships, we haven't seen anything of them when we came in system."
  250. Rosenkrantz_GM The monk looks intently to Calvin, and tries to pull himself closer by the Priest's shoulder.
  251. Makh_Chomun He squeezes a fist, his knuckles white as the rage he feels washes over him. "These xenos filth will pay for this."
  252. Rosenkrantz_GM "Slay the beast!" he hisses. "The defiler!"
  253. Calvin_Colonel "It shall be so!"
  254. Calvin_Colonel "Ave Imperator! Let the alien burn!"
  255. Rosenkrantz_GM +Patrols have been scattered, my Lord. We are searching.+
  256. Rosenkrantz_GM The monk rests his head back again, with a long sigh, and closes his eyes.
  257. Makh_Chomun +Very good.+
  258.
  259. Rosenkrantz 2:
  260. Rosenkrantz_GM -----ON THE SHIP-----
  261. Rosenkrantz_GM The violent movements of the Consequence are too much to ignore.
  262. Rosenkrantz_GM Young Marius notices.
  263. Rosenkrantz_GM "What's going on?"
  264. Vivian "Unfortunate turbulence, My Lord. I would pay it no mind, I assure you, everything is just fine."
  265. Vivian "If anything, the crew of the Consequence is handling it as we speak. By the way, how is your new armor fitting you? Is it too tight? And the cloak? Do you like it?"
  266. Rosenkrantz_GM "Did you know I can be invili--" he pauses to think for a moment... "invisible with it?"
  267. Vivian "Mmhm! That is for a good reason. It's good for hiding with.. I have one of my own. Do you know why you have one?"
  268. Rosenkrantz_GM He giggles.
  269. Rosenkrantz_GM "To hide?"
  270. Vivian nods. "That's right. To hide. There's going to be times when we won't be able to help you. In those instances, I want you to be as safe as possible." Then she'd playfully reach up and ruffle his hair. "I want you to hide, when danger is near. Say nothing, and don't move. Hiding is one of the few things that can save your life."
  271. Rosenkrantz_GM He laughs again. "But you will be there!"
  272. Vivian "If I can help it! Though.. Sometimes, there will be some random things. Things that you can't predict. You never know! So when that happens- What will you do?"
  273. Rosenkrantz_GM He grips his cloak and puts it over his head.
  274. Vivian "That's a start! But what then?" As she asked, she'd reach out and give a playful poke to where she can only assume his shoulder would be- recalling where he was standing.
  275. Rosenkrantz_GM "Run!" you can hear his steps cross the room towards long curtains by the bookshelves
  276. Vivian "Very good! Though..!" As she spoke, she turned where she heard the steps. Slowly walking forward, she would close in towards the long curtains. "Running is a last resort. Do you want to know why?" She'd then suddenly reach out in a gentle 'swiping' motion- aiming to grab the cloak away.
  277. Rosenkrantz_GM He screams, and laughs as he is caught.
  278. Rosenkrantz_GM "But I'm so fast!"
  279. Vivian smiles and laughs also, then kneels down to be at his eye level. Removing the cloak, she'd playfully tap the tip of his nose with a fingertip. "Being fast is good, but sometimes being stealthy is much, much safer. I was able to find you because I heard you!"
  280. Rosenkrantz_GM He brings his finger up to his lips, as though this gesture made him silent, and begins to walk away on his tip-toes.
  281. Vivian laughed quietly as she watched. Then she'd stand upright, crossing her arms. "Do you want to learn how to properly sneak, Marius? I could show you, if you'd like."
  282. Rosenkrantz_GM "Yes!"
  283. Vivian nods. "For starters. I want you to observe me. Observe how I walk- without the cloak on first. Then I will show you with it on. Alright?"
  284. Rosenkrantz_GM He nods with a smile on his face.
  285. Vivian blinked a bit- seems her steps were a bit.. off? Pausing a bit, she'd laugh and cup a hand over her face. "Oh sheesh. Performer anxiety!" She would give the excuse, though before straightening up. "Forgive me, it seems that today is an off day, for me! Let me try again."
  286. Rosenkrantz_GM Marius seems to think the display is more humorous than it is educational, and begins to giggle, falling back on a particularly fluffy piece of furniture.
  287. Vivian straightens up, then tries again- this time providing the lesson that she had intended to give. Showing just how to move and to keep steps light and silent.
  288. Rosenkrantz_GM Marius looks intently, and then tries to mimmick the movements himself.
  289. Rosenkrantz_GM To your surprise, he does rather well, bending his legs at the knee to soften his steps, and using his arms to balance himself.
  290. Vivian watched.. Rather impressed! He takes to his lesson well! "Very good, Marius! Just like that. Try to work on your balance, and keep your arms close to your form. Sometimes you will not have the room to navigate so freely."
  291. Rosenkrantz_GM He tucks his arms in, looking down at his form.
  292. Rosenkrantz_GM "Like this?"
  293. Vivian "Very good. I know it might be difficult, but try to raise your eyes up, instead of looking down at yourself. You need to be aware of your surroundings, otherwise you will be found, easily."
  294. Rosenkrantz_GM He smiles and looks up at you.
  295. Rosenkrantz_GM "This is weird."
  296. Rosenkrantz_GM He giggles.
  297. Vivian laughed softly, then shrugged. "Then let's make a game of this. Shall we? I'll teach you how to be a proper sneak. To test your skills, I'll give you a chance to hide. If I can find you, then you have to give me a page report about.." She'd pause and ponder. "..Hmm. Alright. A page report on St. Lucius. The book I gave you, before. If I can't find you, and I give up? Then I will reward you...
  298. Vivian ...proper."
  299. Vivian "With a treat of your choice."
  300. Rosenkrantz_GM "Okay!"
  301. Vivian "Ground rules first, Young Man. You're not to leave the designated test area. Otherwise I will double the punishment when I find you. You can move, but you cannot leave the area. Understood?"
  302. Rosenkrantz_GM "What is the area?"
  303. Vivian "The Luxury Quarters. You may enter my room, and you can use your room. Any other room that is not a private room is fine, and the hallways itself, for now. That will be our 'Testing area'. Okay?"
  304. Rosenkrantz_GM "Okay. Turn around! No looking!"
  305. Vivian chuckles.. Then nods, before turning away and bringing her hands up to cover over her eyes. "Alright. I'm not looking."
  306. Rosenkrantz_GM You can hear his footsteps moving away from you.
  307. Vivian stays perfectly still, listening intently to see how far away he goes, just before calling out. "I will give you another twenty seconds, then I will come and find you!"
  308. Rosenkrantz_GM Thus it was the Marius Richter von Rosenkrantz was lost. It is said that his soul still haunts the decks of the Consequence, looking for the woman who abandoned him to his cruel fate.
