  1. Jelling on the couch Lupa was enjoying her daytime tv. That is until walked in front of the screen setting down candles on the coffee table.
  2. “Watching a show here, you mind taking your candles and waxing off somewhere else.” Lyra finally gave her some attention after lining up the candles perfectly.
  3. “Let me borrow your lighter for a moment.” Normally Lupa wouldn’t let anyone touch her lighter since most think it’s the more convenient then the stove or matches. But if it meant holy ass out of the way, she’d compromise. Tossing it to Lyra without a word. “Thank you.” Lupa’s attention was drawn away from the flat screen to her older sister. Who was lining candles everywhere in the room.
  4. “Alright I’ll bite, whats with the candles?” Lupa watched as Lyra intently focused on her task.
  5. “You wouldn’t believe if I told you.” Considering her favorite topic is stuff Lupa barely believes in that was saying a lot. “But if you must know, I had an encounter… of the paranormal variety.”
  6. “Being stalked by Mothman?” Lupa did not need to see Lyra’s face, She could tell by the way her shoulder hunched that Lyra didn’t appreciate the humor.
  7. “I saw Ghost.”
  8. “Spooky.” Lupa quipped.
  9. “I’m serious, we are being haunted by a spirit that hasn’t passed to the other side, I bought all these candles right from the church to ward off this spirit. At least out of this house.” Lyra had about 30 candle sticks lit all over the room. It was a fire fighters worst nightmare, but on the bright side they were all strawberry scented.
  10. “Never took you to be scared of Casper?” Lupa kept joshing as Lyra sat down next to Lupa to explain herself.
  11. “Ghost are trouble, beings who linger on this earth for too long and become bitter and jealous of the living for their happiness. Not to mention if they aren’t banished from house too soon they become chained to it and start throwing things, and scaring cats, and- and- and I DON’T LIKE EM’!” Lyra looked visibly shook just talking about specters.
  12. “I’m sensing a backstory to this?” Lupa predicted.
  13. “When I was a little-“
  14. “Called it.” Lupa said as Lyra shushed her and continued.
  15. “When I was a little girl, my mom would stop at every sight on the road. Always dragging me along to see things like the world largest rubber ball or Sideshows with people who have three feet on one foot.”
  16. “I’d pay to see that.” Not much, but if the chance came she would like to see it.
  17. “But the one place she always wanted to go, were… Haunted Houses.” Lyra felt a chill down her spine just mentioning it. “Granted most of them weren’t really or just pretended be. But everytime I walked into one that was… I could feel, a presence lingering in the air. Eyes watching me in the dark. Whispers down the halls in empty hallways. And always something breathing on my neck.” Lyra felt the chill again as she clasped her neck and turned around to see nothing.
  18. “Sounds like some Sleazy ghosties. They probably did that to you because they knew you knew that they were there. Ghosts are kinda dicks like that.” Lyra looked back to Lupa critically.
  19. “And how do you know this?” Now it was Lupa’s turn to give Lyra the same look.
  20. “Have you met my mom?” Lupa asked making Lyra mentally kick herself for the dumb question. If anyone in this family would know about paranormal matters like this it would be her Aunt Lucy. Part of her wanted to ask Lucy for help, but knowing her, she’d find a way to make more ghosts show up or even make it possess one of them for fun.
  21. “Touche. But it wont matter when these candles do their job, we’ll be ghost free in no time.” Lyra said proudly of her own work.
  22. “Oh yeah, Can’t haunt a house if its burned down. Speaking of which, the coffee tables on fire.” Lyra had just about enough of Lupa’s dark sense of- SWEET MOTHER MARY! THE COFFEE TABLE WAS ON FIRE!?
  23. One of candles had tipped over and created a domino affect leaving them all on their side setting the tablecloth aflame. Lyra practically back flipped over the couch and into the kitchen. Lupa meanwhile moved closer to the flame, since the room was feeling a bit cold before now.
  24. “You mind taking care of this?” Lupa said out loud and not two seconds later Lyra came running back in almost tripping over herself as she fenagled with the fire extinguisher.
  25. “Stay calm, I got this-… Where the fire go?” Lyra said as she aimed at the extinguished table, along with all the other candles in the room thankfully. “Did… did you do it.”
  26. “Nah I would have kept the fire going. You can thank her for that.” Lupa pointed to behind Lyra who was about turn around when she felt that familiar chill down her spine. It was so cold that her breath was freezing in the air, as she saw a dark mist surround her. With chattering and a almost frozen spine she turned to see a pale face staring back at her that hid behind a pair of black draped hair, with one bright blue eye peaking out from behind the shade, caressing Lyra cheek with a frail hand and long back nails she smiled and she said.
  27. “Your Welcome dear.” Lyra finally found her legs again and tried to run for the stairs, slamming into the wall before rediscover her sense of direction and booking it upstairs, grabbing the cross along the way.
  28. The Specter just stood there watching the whole site, greatly amused by it that she could barley hold in her laughter.
  29. “Goodness me, she flew the room like a rat from a trap. Pray tell granddaughter, was it something I said?” The ghost joked.
  30. “You know Grandma one of these days, your going to give her a heart attack.” Lupa smiled at her Great Grandma Harriets prank.
  31. “Well now, I wouldn’t say she didn’t earn it. Trying to evict me from my home, the audacity of the girl.” She said as turned into mist only to reform back onto the couch.
  32. “She means well, plus if she could actually see Ghosts, she’d be more paranoid then Loan.” Lupa laid back on the couch to watch her show again.
  33. “Hardly, I’ve been to that girls room and seen the pictures on her contraption, It is home to a variety of debauchery. Its quite impressive honestly.” Lupa may not care about ghosts, but the one upside is having a cool Ghost Grandma.
