The waves strike the castle walls
One after the other, crash and maul
Magnificent though the structure once was
From sand, to sand, nature's cruel norm

I am reminded of the palatial halls
Surrounded by pillars - proud, wise and tall
They knew of their eventual demise
A future far is just as a lie
