  1. Hello Internet,
  2.
  3. Today I was reading this great Washington Post news article: http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/russia-says-it-has-no-authority-to-expel-snowden/2013/06/24/325281f2-dcaf-11e2-bd83-e99e43c336ed_story.html
  4.
  5. But when I got to page 3, I noticed something funny.
  6. http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/russia-says-it-has-no-authority-to-expel-snowden/2013/06/24/325281f2-dcaf-11e2-bd83-e99e43c336ed_story_3.html
  7. > Hong Kong’s government said that the U.S. request for a warrant for Snowden’s arrest “did not fully
  8. > comply with the legal requirements under Hong Kong law” and that it had asked for “additional
  9. > information.”
  10.
  11. > “As the HKSAR Government has yet to have sufficient information to process the request for provisional
  12. > warrant of arrest, there is no legal basis to restrict Mr. Snowden from leaving Hong Kong,” the
  13. > statement said.
  14.
  15. > A senior Justice Department official disputed that claim. “The request met the requirements of the
  16. > agreement,” said the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
  17.
  18. So after everyone else is named, and the Hong Kong's official statements were published, some employee of the US Justice Department "spoke on the condition of anonymity," to decry the official statement.
  19.
  20. Is that where the Freedom of the Press has taken us? Anonymity is reserved for U.S. Justice Department officials who want to bitch and ass-moan about what foreign governments decide? Cowards. If everyone else has the balls to attach their name to their words, why not do the same for this fuck? Stand up and be liable and held accountable for what you say, or else don't make public statements, you poor excuses for public servants.
  21.
  22. Listen, I've spoken to reporters numerous times and when I tell them I'm not comfortable attaching my real name to a statement, guess what happened: They never published my statements. Fancy that.
  23.
  24. Take note, internet users, for we live in an asymmetric world where those with power wield it to prevent others from attaining power.
  25.
  26. If anyone has issue with this statement, my Twitter is @RiptideTempora; send your gripes there. :)
