  1. [F4A] Perfect Playlist - Driving Home With Your Old Bandmate [Friends to Lovers] [Reminiscing] [Reconnecting] [Cute] [Confession] [Kisses] [L-Bombs] [Old bandmates]
  2.
  3. You've recently reconnected with one of you old bandmates and have been meeting up together with friends frequently. You both had feelings for each other in the past, but due to life situations, nothing could come of it. Sharing a drive home after an outing, these feelings start resurfacing.
  4.
  5. [square brackets] for tone/actions, SFX where noted (optional)
  6. *asterisks* for emphasis
  7. double spaces for longer pauses
  8.
  9. /slashes/ used for explanations of sounds or actions or any contextual events
  10. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
  11.
  12. Yeah it's getting pretty dark. Think its time to leave?
  13.
  14. We've been here for a while. Don't want to overstay our welcome or anything.
  15.
  16. I know we were invited but...[soft] don't you hate it when people stay way too long?
  17.
  18. [giggle] Mhm. It's *my* time now, leave me alone!
  19.
  20. You're right, that might be the introvert in me talking.
  21.
  22. See? If we don't leave soon, everybody's going to end up staying the whole night. And I have work to do tomorrow.
  23.
  24. So...executive decision? Help me leave, please?
  25.
  26. Ok awesome. Let's fold up this blanket then. Get things moving, y'know?
  27.
  28. [SFX: blankets rustling/flapping]
  29.
  30. What are your plans for the rest of the night, by the way?
  31.
  32. Oh that sounds lovely. I'd honestly do the same if I could, but going to bed early has never been a strong suit of mine. [chuckle]
  33.
  34. Umm...I'll probably call for a lift or something. That way there's a timer on me leaving.
  35.
  36. Nonono, you already picked me up on your way here, I don't want to hassle you again.
  37.
  38.
  39. Are you sure? My place is a lot further than where you caught me this afternoon.
  40.
  41. Yep, same place. I guess I came right back to where I was. [chuckle]
  42.
  43. So are you sure?
  44.
  45. I mean...are you seriously ok with giving me a ride home? Because I can definitely just pay for a lift.
  46.
  47. That would be great. Thanks.
  48.
  49. Still as kind as ever, huh?
  50.
  51. Oh, here's your picnic blanket.
  52.
  53. Ok yeah. I'll, um...let me grab my things and say goodbye in the meantime. I'll meet you by your car, ok?
  54.
  55.
  56. /pause for scene change/
  57.
  58.
  59. [SFX: car door opens] /listener pulls up and opens door for her as she's talking with someone else/
  60.
  61.
  62. [to someone else] Mhm. It's been a lot of fun. Thanks for inviting us.
  63.
  64. Yeah, they're um...I'm catching a lift home with them.
  65.
  66. It is kind of out of the way, yeah. They offered, though, which is...[wistful sigh] it's nice.
  67.
  68. I wouldn't say that it's a given, but it was still really sweet.
  69.
  70. [flustered] Oh my god don't say *that*! Jeez.
  71.
  72. You better stop that, come on! [giggle]
  73.
  74. Ok nope, you're done. [laugh] I'm leaving!
  75.
  76. I said I'm leeeeaaavingggg!
  77.
  78. [SFX: car door closes]
  79.
  80.
  81. Ohhhh-kay that took a lot longer than I thought. [chuckle]
  82.
  83. We've been hanging out so much recently you'd think we'd get tired of each other. Who knew goodbyes could take so long?
  84.
  85. [embarrassed] What? Oh, don't worry about that. We were just...chatting.
  86.
  87. *Yes*, just chatting! Come on, don't you tease me as well!
  88.
  89. I can't believe you're still doing that.
  90.
  91. [mocking] "Old habits die hard", you little- [laugh]
  92.
  93. Is everything packed and ready to go?
  94.
  95. Great! Let's get going then!
  96.
  97. Oh yeah, seatbelt, sorry.
  98.
  99. There we go~
  100.
  101.
  102. [satisfied sigh] I am *so* ready to be at home right now.
  103.
  104. Like I said, same old place. I didn't really want to move.
  105.
  106. Do you need directions? I can help you out once we get out of here.
  107.
  108. You still remember?
  109.
  110. [softly, slight excitement] Wow, that's um...that's nice to know.
  111.
  112. By the way, do you want some music or anything? I'm comfortable just sitting here and talking, but I can put something on, if you'd like.
  113.
  114. You have something to show me? Well, colour me intrigued~
  115.
  116. Yeah hit play, I'm ready!
  117.
  118.
  119. Oh *no* way. What is this? I can't believe you still have this song!
  120.
  121. [teasing] Feeling a bit nostalgic, are we?
  122.
  123. Of course I remember! I'd never forget all this band stuff! It was a pretty big part of our lives back then.
  124.
  125. It kind of still is. I think. Maybe? Do you still play as much as you used to?
  126.
  127.
  128. Oh that's amazing! It's good to know you're still passionate about it.
  129.
  130. Yeah, I do too. These days it's more for myself, though.
  131.
  132. [excited gasp] Hey, what if we did like a little band reunion? Get everyone back together to hang out and play a little, what do you think?
  133.
  134. If they're not really into it anymore, that's ok.
  135.
  136. Of course! We could always work stuff out with just the two of us.
  137.
  138. [playful] Then play more instruments if you have to! We can make it work, trust me!
  139.
  140. Exactly! Just the two of us~
  141.
  142. [playful] Get it? Because we played that song?
  143.
  144. [giggle] Shush, you know you loved it.
  145.
  146. [teasing] Maybe you won't be such a perfectionist this time, hmm?
  147.
  148. I'm only teasing, you know me.
  149.
  150. I'll be honest, I've always liked that part of you.
  151.
  152. Well, it helped that you were the one figuring most of the parts out. Made the rest of our jobs easier.
  153.
  154. [teasing] That was pretty great of you, band leader~
  155.
  156.
  157. It *was* a lot of fun.
  158.
  159. Pity we had to end it the way we did.
  160.
  161.
  162. Do you ever miss it? Playing with the old band, I mean.
  163.
  164. Same here. We meshed really well, and not just as a band. We used to hang out all the time before, even outside of our rehearsals.
  165.
  166. [longing] You don't find those relationships often, you know?
  167.
  168. But I guess people at different stages of their lives won't always be on the same page. [sigh]
  169.
  170. I, um...let me not get like this. [mood picking up] What about this playlist? Do you have another blast from the past waiting for me?
  171.
  172.
  173. [gasp] *This* song? You absolute sweetheart!
  174.
  175. [teasing] No no no, you can't say that. I remember *exactly* where this one is from.
  176.
  177. Mhm. There was that one week when we started learning this and it was *all* you would listen to. I loved it.
  178.
  179. I know that because that was also the week my car died on me! You used to drive me to and from our band meetings all the time!
  180.
  181. Yep. And in your car, you had this song on repeat *forever*. [laughs]
  182.
  183. I did it too, don't worry about it.
  184.
  185. I promise I wasn't just using you for a ride, either. [chuckle]
  186.
  187. -Oh, you know where to go after this stop, right?
  188.
  189. Cool.
  190.
  191. Yeah it was fun either way. Sitting in the car with you on the way home. Kind of like this, huh?
  192.
  193. [wistful] A quiet...slow...drive through the night...
  194.
  195.
  196. [embarrassed] H-hey, eyes up, on the road!
  197.
  198. Don't look at me, look forward! The light's changing!
  199.
  200.
  201. [flustered] What? No. What? What are you talking about?
  202.
  203. You can *not* say I was blushing. It's so dark, how would you even see that?
  204.
  205. [changing the subject] No, I was, um...noticing...that you still do that thing you always did.
  206.
  207. Yeah, you...you sing along to your music? But not like...I know everybody probably does it, but not the way you do.
  208.
  209. You know what I mean! You don't sing the lyrics like a normal person would! You do your own thing!
  210.
  211. No, I like it. It's unique.
  212.
  213. It's actually pretty cute, in a nerdy way.
  214.
  215. Nonono, nerdy is good. [chuckle] It's wonderful.
  216.
  217. Don't go changing on me now. I like you just the way you are~
  218.
  219. [playful] See? Another song we used to play~ [giggle]
  220.
  221. Yeah! If we end up having our little jam session we can play all our old songs! I'd love that.
  222.
  223. Oh hey, we're coming up on my house. Right around the corner. But I guess you know that, don't you?
  224.
  225.
  226. Here we are. Same old place.
  227.
  228. Yeah, it hasn't changed much.
  229.
  230. Thanks for driving me home. I know it's out of your way, so seriously, thanks. I appreciate it a lot.
  231.
  232. You're too sweet.
  233.
  234.
  235. Listen, I...I know it's already late, and you probably have things to do tomorrow, but could we maybe...sit for a while?
  236.
  237. It's comforting. The...nostalgia of it all. It makes me want to make the most of the time we have.
  238.
  239. Yeah, because...I know we've only recently started hanging out together again, but it's been great, right? I mean, it has been, for me, at least.
  240.
  241.
  242. And it really reminded me of the past. Of our time as a band.
  243.
  244. After we split up, everybody kind of went their separate ways. And we all lost contact. Which...sucked, obviously.
  245.
  246. I don't think anybody *meant* for it to happen, but life can always...[sigh] get in the way of things.
  247.
  248. It was difficult for me.
  249.
  250. Not being able to see everybody anymore.
  251.
  252. [softer] Not being able to see...you...anymore.
  253.
  254. And I guess now...hanging out with you, and everybody else, it...it made it feel like all that time we lost didn't even matter.
  255.
  256. And I...[deep breath] I feel like I should say this now. I didn't get the chance before, and now...I don't want us to drift apart again.
  257.
  258. If I can help it, I won't let us drift apart again.
  259.
  260.
  261. [deep breath] I...I like you. Like really, *really* like you.
  262.
  263. I have liked you.
  264.
  265. [softer] Maybe even...loved you. Since our whole band era.
  266.
  267. But...that was the past. And like I said, we were all at different stages of our lives.
  268.
  269. Now, with seeing you again, and being together so often, and now all this reminiscing, it's like all those feelings came flooding back, and I just- [kiss]
  270.
  271. [flustered, out of breath] Oh my god what? Wait, what?
  272.
  273. Also what do you mean you figured as much?
  274.
  275. It *can't* have been that obvious, don't say that! [laugh]
  276.
  277. What about you, huh? You offer me a lift and play all these songs from our past and you expect me to *not* feel this way?
  278.
  279. [gasp] [incredulous] Did you set all of this up to try and get me to confess?
  280.
  281. Wait a minute, no. No. It wasn't for me?
  282.
  283. Are you saying what I think you're saying?
  284.
  285. Oh my god! [squeal] You're such a dork, I love it.
  286.
  287. [laugh] Just kiss me again~
  288.
  289. [kissing]
  290.
  291. [softly] I love you too.
