DK64 Tag Anywhere Romhack FAQ

Q: Wait, DK64 Romhack?!
A: Yes, although not actually a full game mod, this is the actual DK64 rom that we modified, recompressed, and booted on an N64 using Everdrive 64. I am currently using v2.5 of the Everdrive, any versions of Everdrive past 2.5 should work as well.

Q: What can this romhack do?
A: The only change to the original game that this romhack does is allow to change kongs anywhere by pushing DpadLeft or DpadRight to instantly rotate between the kongs.

There are some areas and movement states where the hack is disabled due to breaking the game otherwise.

- Note: Locations with // in front means the hack is enabled on the map. Without the // means it's disabled.

A: Yes. You can currently see instructions on how to patch the DK64 rom yourself here:

The patching process is manual, and you will need a DK64 rom with the exact SHA1 hash listed. DO NOT ASK HOW TO DOWNLOAD A DK64 ROM. I personally had success using the IPS version and applied the patch using Lunar IPS program.

However, please keep in mind these things:
- Currently only works on N64 hardware, (via Everdrive 64). Does not work via Wii U injection yet.
- I was able to boot it on Bizhawk emulator but it doesn't really seem to work that well.
- I have not tried other N64 emulators
