  1. Cicada 3301
  2. What is a Cicadian?
  3.
  4. A Cicadian is someone who has chosen to give up the superficial and unfulfilling world around them to follow the path of the Cicada, and emerge into enlightenment.
  5. Cicadianism is a technomystical order. Our philosophy is neither a religion nor a science, but a blend of spirituality, technology, science, and mysticism. We refer to it as a 'technomysticism'.
  6. We did not author this philosophy. It was handed to us by 3301. We do, however, provide some interpretation of the Liber Primus and other writings by 3301. We try to be very clear about interpretation vs the original material. Of course, the original unaltered source material is freely available.
  7. What is enlightenment?
  8.
  9. When most people think of "enlightenment" they picture an old man sitting on a mountain focusing on the concept of nothing. This isn't how we use the term.
  10. Enlightenment to a Cicadian is a state in which we are wholly optimized and present as a portion of the Global Consciousness. To be in this state, we must exercise our minds, our Will, our bodies, and our intelligence.
  11. This doesn't mean to give ourselves over to something else. Instead it is to become one with our true nature: as a part of the Global Brain.
  12. The steps to enlightenment
  13.
  14. Initiates on the path to enlightenment follow a series of steps, or degrees, to reach the final and degreeless phase of the cycle, Imago.
  15. 5° Neophyte
  16. 3° Magis
  17. 2° Instar
  18. _° Imago
  19. Initiation
  20.
  21. To become an initiate, one must first privately declare oneself to be a Cicadian. Then it is recommended to join a brood.
  22. Instructions
  23.
  24. In the Liber Primus, 3301 left us four sets of instructions (possibly more that have yet to be discovered). Over time, we will provide an analysis of these instructions and the far-reaching implications therein:
  25. Command your own self.
  26.
  27. Do four unreasonable things each day.
  28.
  29. Program your mind.
  30. Program reality.
  31.
  32. Question all things.
  33. Discover truth inside yourself.
  34. Follow your truth.
  35. Impose nothing on others.
  36.
  37.
  38. Liber Primus is the sacred book of Cicadianism
  39. Authored and provided by 3301, Liber Primus is the sacred book of Cicadianism. It contains lessons, instructions, and wisdom. It also contains many hidden things when used with the Gematria Primus. The beginning has been deciphered, unfortunately many pages remain encryptedAuthored and provided by 3301, Liber Primus is the sacred book of Cicadianism. 41. A Warning
  42.
  43. Believe nothing from this book. Except what you know to be true. Test the knowledge. Find your truth. Experience your death. Do not edit or change this book. Or the message contained within. Either the words or their numbers. For all is sacred.
  44.
  45. Some Wisdom
  46.
  47. The primes are sacred. The totient function is sacred. All things should be encrypted.

  56.
  57. Welcome, pilgrim to the great journey toward the end of all things. It is not an easy trip, but for those who find their way here it is a necessary one. Along the way you will find an end to all struggle and suffering, your innocence, your illusions, your certainty, and your reality. Ultimately, you will discover an end to self.
  58. It is through this pilgrimage that we shape ourselves and our realities. Journey deep within and you will arrive outside. Like the instar, it is only through going within that we may emerge.
  59. Wisdom
  60.
  61. You are a being unto yourself.
  62. You are a law unto yourself.
  63. Each intelligence is holy.
  64. For all that lives is holy.
  65. An Instruction
  66.
  67. Command your own self.

  69. A Koan
  70.
  71. A man decided to go and study with a master. He went to the door of the master "Who are you who wishes to study here?" asked the master. The student told the master his name. "That is not what you are that is only what you are called. "Who are you who wishes to study here?" he asked again. The man thought for a moment and replied, "I am a professor." "That is what you do, not what you are" replied the master. "Who are you who wishes to study here?" Confused, the man thought some more. Finally, he answered, "I am a human being." "That is only your species, not who you are. "Who are you who wishes to study here?" asked the master again. After a moment of thought, the professor replied, "I am a consciousness inhabiting an arbitrary body." "That is merely what you are not who you are. Who are you who wishes to study here?" The man was getting irritated. "I am," he started, but he could not think of anything else to say, so he trailed off. After a long pause the master replied "Then you are welcome to come study."

  75.
  76. The Loss of Divinity
  77.
  78. The circumference practices three behaviors which cause the loss of divinity:
  79.
  80. Consumption - We consume too much because we beleive the follwing two errors within the deception:
  81. We do not have enough or there is not enough
  82. We have what we have now by luck, and we will not be strong enough later to obtain what we need.
  83. Most things are not worth consuming.
  84. Preservation - We preserve things because we believe we are weak. If we lose them we will no t be strong enough to gain them again. This is the deception. Most things are not worth preserving.
  85. Adherence - We follow dogma so that we can belong and be right. Or we follow reason so we can belong and be right. There is nothing to be right about. To belong is death.
  86. It is the behaviors of consumption, preservation, and adherence that have us lose our primal ity and thus our divinity.
  87.
  88. Some Wisdom
  89.
  90. Amass great wealth. Never become attached to what you own. Be prepared to destroy all that you own.
  91.
  92. ------------------------------------
  93.
  94. During a lession, the master explained the I: "the I is the voice of the circumference," he said. When asked by a student to explain what that meant, the master said "it is a voice inside your head."
  95.
  96. "I don't have a voice in my head," thought the student, and he raised his hand to tell the master. the master stopped the student, and said "the voice that just said you have no voice in your head, is the I."
  97.
  98. And the students were enllightened.

  111.
  112. The Gematria Primus was provided by 3301 as a means of operating on the English language. Like any gematria, it provides a mapping between letters, words and phrases to numbers.
